Reasonably priced properties in Santa Barbara are few and far between, I took a chance and booked a room at the Inn. The complex is perfectly situated right behind the Hyatt (and away from the major thoroughfare noise) and one block to the beach. A trolley runs up and down the street next to the ocean and up to the downtown area. For .50 each way, this is the way to travel to the harbor or downtown. The rooms are clean and the decor is a version of art deco. It looks like some updating has ... Read more

I regret that I have not written reviews for my previous 2 stays here. Whenever I cone here or drive through SB, this is where I stay. It is a cute, clean, friendly place near the beach. It has free parking, wifi, a nice breakfast and very good coffee. Each time have stayed here, the staff are friendly and helpful. It can be noisy sometimes, but we ask for a quiet area in the hotel. The top floor rooms are usually quieter than the 1st floor, and on the outskirts is better. Thanks for anothe... Read more

We were mistaken about the time for breakfast and showed up 30 minutes late. I walked to the door of the kitchen and saw lots of muffins and dry cereal. However, the young woman who apparently works behind the desk immediately came out of the kitchen and closed the door in my face. I asked if there was any more breakfast and she said, "No". So I asked if we could just have 2 muffins and she said that they were 'for the girls' who I assumed to be the maid staff. As we were paying guests askin... Read more

The hotel was really close to a very nice beach and park. About 1 mile away from State st., so a close walk (if you like to walk). The breakfast was good, but I wish they provided some gluten free options other than fruit, and yoghurt. The only downside is that there is no AC. Front desk suggested that we open the door and place the fan in front to generate cool air. I added that would also probably let in every mosquito in SB, but she thought it was too cold for mosquitos... I found and killed ... Read more

Very well positioned motel, a short walk to beach and restaurants. Rooms are a good size and are comfortable. There is a refreshing pool and a pool terrace. A continental breakfast is included. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They recommended good restaurants and even gave us coupons to help with the cost. We would definitely come back if we were in Santa Barbara.

This is a great little hotel, slightly away from the town, it will take you 20-30 mins to walk up to the main harbour and street, but it's a nice little walk, which you can do in the surf. Hotel has everything you need, and provides a decent breakfast. Coffee in the room is a little tasteless, but then we have found that in all hotels we have stayed at in the US. The coffee in reception is great!!! Pool is lovely, hidden away from the wind. Staff were great, most friendly welcome we have had... Read more

I cannot say enough good things about the hotel, their owners and the breakfast they serve with so much love. The rooms have a pleasant beachy decor that is easy on the eyes. I loved the bamboo trees near my room patio. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best thing... artisan croissants, muffins, boiled eggs, coffee, yogurt.... the spread was delicious. The location was great, the price was just right. We spent two nights and couldn't be happier. The welcome from the owners was fantastic, we had seen the hotel on a third party app on our drive over and they matched the price. The breakfast provided was great, one of the best provided breakfasts on our trip. It's ideally located to access the beach, with some handy beach items available to borrow / hire. It's a little further into town, but provides a nice beachside stroll to get you going

This hotel is well located near the beach, the rooms are clean, and the receptionist is very friendly. Unfortunately these are the only good things I have to say about the place. This is by far the hotel with the worst sound insulation I have ever stayed in. You will hear every cough and fart your neighbour makes, and the clonking from the water pipes in the morning is astonishing. Might as well be staying in a shed...really noisy!!! Oh and the 'breakfast' is a joke - some pastries, cereal and c... Read more

A friendly welcome, a clean and stylish room and a good breakfast. This accommodation is centred on different levels around a pool which looked very inviting but we didn't use it, only because we were busy going into town or visiting the beach. There are plenty of tables & chairs scattered around outside where you can eat breakfast but if the weather is a bit cool then your only alternative is taking the tray to your room. Collecting your breakfast is a bit of a juggling act as there is a lack o... Read more

I pre-booked and paid for three nights at this hotel about six months in advance of my stay for my daughter's graduation from UCSB. The pros: - good location - rooms very clean - free parking - nice toiletries The cons - horrible acoustics. You hear EVERYTHING - horrible Wi-Fi. We all ended up using our data rather than their erratic Wi-Fi. - flimsy louver style bathroom doors that provide zero privacy to the person using the restroom - no AC Although I had paid for three nights (nonrefunda... We (family of four) stayed at the Inn for three nights. We enjoyed our stay, being upgraded to a suite the last two nights was a pleasant surprise. The staff was very helpful (Mr Santana quite the joker) and we loved the breakfast which had something for everyone. The soundproofing could be better, but we weren't bothered by it. The location was good, close to the beach and just a short drive to State str. One can also walk along the shore - very nice in the evening.

We arrived a little before the stated check in time of 3pm but that wasn't a problem and the receptionist, who was providing temporary cover was friendly and helpful and assisted us carrying our luggage to the room. Second time here and it's a little less exciting this time because privacy was more important. The doors on the bathrooms are slatted so you can hear everything. Nice place close to the beach with a VERY friendly staff! Exceptionally good complementary breakfast and coffee is available until 7 PM. The location of this Inn is good situated behind a larger hotel and just 2 blocks off of the beach. The room, however, I thought was just awful and certainly not worth the $380/night I paid for it. Throughout the room were signs of filth including cob webs along the ceiling above the sink area and tons of bugs in the ceiling light in the toilet area. In all of East Beach you can hear a steady hum from traffic on Hwy 101 and an occasional horn from Amtrak trains, but within East Beach, this inn's location is unbeatable -- on a quiet street just a block away from the beach.
