Located right in the village of Montecito, the Inn is classically beautiful. The rooms still have the old world charm without sacrificing modern comfort. Breakfast is served down in the cafe or trays are available to take breakfast back to your room - I loved this! The highway is nearby but no noise could be heard from my room.

Montecito is a lovely part of the world, very quaint. The Montecito Inn was a great spot to enjoy both Montecito but also Santa Barbara. It is a very cheap Uber journey to and from SB, making it very easy to enjoy the numerous wine tasting spots. The Inn was very clean and with a very comfortable room. Sweet pool area and lobby. The only thing that really lets the place down is the breakfast which was much worse than a standard hotel, and considering we had a nice meal in the hotel the night bef... Read more

I love historic old hotels. We enjoyed our stay and absolutely love Montecito. The room was fine, and we enjoyed the pool (note you can hear the highway but it really wasn't bothersome). The location is convenient and we could easily get to Santa Barbara. I do think this could be an even better hotel: I agree with to others about the breakfast but, it's free and there are awesome options down the street if awesome is what you want. I think they could also turn the bar area into somethi... Read more

A beautiful well maintained hotel, The continental breakfast was very nice fresh fruit , yogurt, fabulous coffee all at a very high standard. The beach is a 10 minute walk where we saw numerous pelican's. The outdoor pool is small but clean and heated, a jacuzzi is also there and is lovely and warm. The wharf and shops are a good 1hour walk.

We had a very enjoyable stay with family visiting from Europe. The hotel is in a great location. Breakfast was very nice, delicious coffee. The staff was very friendly and helpful, from the valet to front desk. Also a nice touch with coffee and tea available at any time in an alcove just off the lobby. All in all, a good value. We will stay again.

We stayed one night and received very good service here. It's a old hotel but in good condition. Rooms are small but comfortable. The location is very good with several excellent restaurants within walking distance. Walk to the beach is 5 minutes and a beautiful spot. Complimentary 24 hour coffee in the lobby and breakfast was very good. Dining area for breakfast was cramped so avoid peak times.

I return frequently to the Santa Barbara area and had seen this inn often as I drove by and decided to give it a try.... it has pros and cons which for me personally turned out mostly cons but it really depends on your needs/tastes... I don't want to bash the hotel because they weren't awful but really proved to be not my style. Budget for me is no issue but I'm not materialistic. I don't need to impress by location. I got the feeling this place thrives on a montecito/beverly hills-style reput... Read more

Stayed at this hotel with friends for a going away party in Santa Barbara. The place is old world and the designs in the room are classic. It includes breakfast. The area has a lot of great restaurants too. First night we only walked around the neighborhood and found a a lovely place to dine. If you need something medical. CVS was just a walking distance from it. All in all had a wonderful stay with friends in the inn.

I stayed here with my wife recently, nice and clean hotel with very comfortable beds. One drawback is that the walls must be made of paper as a few other (very inconsiderate) guests came back drunk at midnight making a lot of noise. The hotel staff very professionally asked them to be quiet which they did. However even if they were not loud you could hear a mosquito fart in the next room! Road noise can also be heard but the road closest is not very busy at night so wasn't too bad. Breakfast ... Read more

The hotel dates back to pre Hollywood and was originally owned by Charlie Chaplin, when the movie business was based in Santa Barbara. The room we stayed in was small, as was the bathroom, but that's to be expected from the era. It has the feel of the old hotel with modern conveniences. It is definitely not for everyone, but the ability to walk to several restaurants and the price made it a plus for us. In a city of grossly inflated properties with motel style accommodations, this was a refr... Read more

Lovely little hotel, great lobby and nice pool. Rooms are small but well appointed. Many restaurants and shops are within walking distance. Staff friendly and helpful. We were excited to go Father's Day weekend and stay at Historic Montecito Inn! Although it has charming architecture and was once owned by Charlie Chaplin it has little more going for it! What a disappointment! The views are not as advertised: our room, the Tower Room($500+ per night) had views of the freeway and a very distant view of the ocean out one window and a view of the freeway offramp and a gas station out the other! Added to that was the noise of traffic, although they've probably don... Read more

I stayed at the Montecito Inn multiple times this year and would stay again. Pros: Great staff, lots of charm and character, perfect location by shops and restaurants, clean rooms, comfy beds, nice linens. Cons: The rooms are small and do not have great views, breakfast is dull consisting of yogurt and coffee, a far walk to the beach and you need a car if you want to go any farther than a few shops and restaurants on the main strip in Montecito. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

We stayed at Montecito Inn as a scouting trip to potentially bring more guests next year for an event. The photos on their website lead you to believe this hotel is quaint, charming and historical with a modern touch. The room we stayed in (Mountain View King) was nice, but needed some updating. We had high expectations, given the high prices. We felt we should have been blown away, but left feeling it had been a lackluster experience. The hotel itself, was very comfortable and clean, although the rooms are on the smaller side everything is appointed tastefully. We had a lovely time at this smaller hotel. Room was great for 5, 2 large queen rooms and huge bathroom. Hotel has a boutique feel and service (valet and front desk) were very nice. In general, great quick stay to explore Santa Barbara - the only thing that needs fixing is the breakfast. The selection is poor, the restaurant is blocked off, makes absolutely no sense. Good location but this hotel is way overpriced for the quality of what you get. Felt more like a motel than a boutique hotel. Complimentary breakfast was poor. We ended up going out to breakfast both mornings. In the rooms, bathrooms were small and was not the cleanest. You can also hear your neighbors way too clear through the vents it was disgusting. Montecito Inn was a wonderful boutique hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Many great restaurants are within walking distance.
