Ive never been to Santa Barbara and when my gf mentioned shed wanted to visit there for our anniversary we started looking up hotels to stay at we came across hotel indigo and right away we knew we had to book a room . The art and decor of the entire hotel is beautiful clean and also has a wonderful staff + service . The room was so unique and the side patio was very zen Great vibes we enjoyed our stay and highly recommend staying here .

Disclaimer that I was asked to write the review in exchange for having parking charges credited. Hotel is in a great location in funk zone and by pier. Excellent area for walking around. Staff is great, very helpful and courteous. They have loaner bikes to cruise around on nearby bike trails. The room I had was very small, but laid out efficiently, something like a business hotel in Japan. My room on the ground floor had an enclosed patio that made for a nice working environment. Have stayed there on business 3 times this year so far. I have chosen to return because it is a little different from the typical cookie-cutter north american hotel, together with its location. Have always found the rooms clean and well presented. Rooms are small and bathroom layout is typical of what you might find in Europe. It is not a full service hotel, but the services it lacks - breakfast, restaurant & bar are all available within walking distance, either on the seafront, downtown or ... Read more

This stay was part of my graduation road trip with my dad and my dog. Prior to our stay at Indigo, we had been to 3 hotels and would go onto one more. From the moment we checked in, Indigo had clearly provided exceptional customer service that separated itself from anywhere else we'd been. Heidi at the front desk was so welcoming and helpful when it came to my little dog. She provided me with a list of restaurants and wineries that were dog friendly so we didn't have to wing it and figure out wh... Read more

Hotel Indigo is in a great location with walking distance to many attractions. It's very close to the Funk Zone, the beach and State Street. There are many shops, restaurants, wineries, and breweries to visit. The hotel is clean, smells good, and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are a bit compact but clean and stylish. The bathrooms are very compact but again clean and open. I would recommend the patio on the first floor just to have that extra space that the room does not. Again the ro... Read more

This was a nice place to stay right in the heart of Santa Barbara. The hotel staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, it was quiet and had a nice atmosphere. The only drawback is the amount of construction in the immediate area. But that should be an advantage soon, looks like a lot of nice things opening up nearby.

We had a pleasant stay at the Indigo, despite a small hiccup with the valet early on. When we arrived, the valet next door said the valet service would be complimentary. When we spoke with reception, they said that was incorrect. However, the gentleman at reception handled the situation perfectly, saying he would correct the information with the valet attendant, and he also offered us some free snacks from the hotel pantry. Situation solved, no issue. The hotel itself is great: excellent lo... Read more

i stayed at this property for one night during my business trip. The hotel is located centrally, is clean and has valet parking. The hotel had upgraded my room to a garden room, which had a patio. The hotel itself is modern and sleek. Upon check in we were greeted with wine and cheese for their daily happy hour. the staff is young, vibrant and helpful. Excellent customer service, free upgrade and great location. What else can you ask for. We arrived on the Coast Starlight for a two day stay in Santa Barbara and based on TripAdvisor reviews we opted to stay at the Indigo. We were very pleased with our decision. Rooms are small but the garden patio gives you some space outside which made up for the room size. It's right on State street and near the pier which was perfect for someone new to Santa Barbara. Highly recommended.

This hotel is in a prime location with very friendly and helpful staff. They will provide you with meal recommendations and provide coupons for various restaurants and wineries. This is a quaint little hotel. The rooms are small, but beautifully done. The outdoor gardens they have make you feel you are in a world of your own. The staff are very helpful. The location is superb as it is near the pier and all the downtown shops and restaurants. This may be a difficult hotel to stay in if you have children as they do not have baths and the small size of the rooms, but it is perfect for a single person or a couple.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel in such a great location in SB. Traveling as just 2 adults with no children in tow it was nice to have the quiet lobby and halls. The lower floor with the private patio was really nice, especially since it has small European stay rooms, the extra out door space was needed and enjoyed. Recommended it for couples.

As soon as I walked into the room I went back to the front desk and asked for a bigger room but was told that all rooms were the same size, and since ours had outdoor space it was as good as it could get. Small and very tidy hotel in an excellent location both for the city center as well as for the beach. The rooms are small but well equipped and the amenities although limited (small lobby, tiny gym, no restaurant) are well decorated and welcoming. It is a little noisy, both from the outside (train, current renovation of the neighbourhood) and inside (people walking down the aisle and rooms next door) but they make an effort o alleviate it. Hotel is in a great location a few blocks from the beach. Nice and clean and modern. Great amenities. The front desk was super helpful and courteous. Walking distance to the warf and downtown. Front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly! The room was clean and had a nice atmosphere. The shower stall is a little small and awkward but it didn't bother either of us.

Loved this hotel. The staff was absolutely wonderful -- every last individual with no exceptions. Our concierge, Ciela, went so far as to find nearby restaurants that could accommodate my son, who was still recovering from jaw surgery and had a serious dairy allergy besides. She researched menus and came back with some excellent suggestions. The valet staff (and Ciela again) were also very accommodating with our medical appt. schedule and getting our luggage out in the car and ready to go wh... Read more

On the way to Los Angles from San Francisco we decided to stay one night in Santa Barbara. We drove into the city and found this excellent hotel, unfortunately we only stayed one night. The rooms was small but perfect, clean and cozy. I have the feeling it is newly renovated or new built. The price for the room was reasonable for two in one room. No breakfast but there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The pier is just a short walk away. I can highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is only a block away from the Funk Zone, with several wine tasting rooms and restaurants. Also, only a block from the beach and Stearns Wharf. Within walking distance of the downtown State St. area. Place has a cool European feel to it, including tiny rooms. But, we don't spend much time in our room, so was no problem. Very friendly and helpful staff. We loved it.

Not a good place with a baby. We were given a room on the second floors with no elevator. We arrived with a baby, luggage, jogging stroller and pregnant. Every time we returned to the hotel I had to wake my child up, ask them to store her food and stroller and then carry her (whilst pregnant) up the stairs. There are also no mini fridges or space for a pack and play.

Super cute boutique hotel in a great location. Loved that they showcase art throughout the hotel. Close to the beach, restaurants, nightlife and shops. Valet parking. Overall good hotel and good service.

Stylish and clean hotel filled with entertaining color and design yet comfortable. The service was consistently attentive and knowledgeable about the area. The location is easy to get to in a recently revived neighborhood.

Found this little gem for a last minute get away with a friend from out of town. It's a great boutique hotel just a few blocks to the Funk Zone & The Urban Wine Trail. It's also a few blocks from the beach and pier. The room we stayed in had a private outdoor seating area. The room was small but nicely decorated and provided everything needed. The bathroom is also on the small side but impressive with what they did with the space. When not in use the glass wall to the shower folds in alo... Read more

The hotel was very nice. We loved all the artwork and the casual spots to hang out at the hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms are small but we were not planning to hangout in the room. What we loved about the hotel is the location. We walked to have drinks and there are tons of restaurants and bars nearby. The beach is a block away. We hung out with friends on one of the balconies. It was nice and relaxing. We would love to come back.
