Housed in a 14-story, 1920s bank building, Courtyard San Diego Downtown is half a mile from the bay and Gaslamp District. It is also three miles from the airport, Balboa Park, Coronado Island, and San Diego Zoo. Sea World and Old Town are eight miles away. Faz restaurant, located in the hotel lobby, serves award-winning Mediterranean and Eastern cuisine. Guests can unwind in the lounge or utilize the whirlpool and exercise room. Other facilities and services include meeting facilities, safety deposit box, valet parking, and laundryroom.

Each of the courtyard's 245 rooms has cable television, work desk with lamp, two-line phone, voicemail, dataport, weekday newspaper delivery, complimentary in-room coffee, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, and a comfortable sitting area. Non-smoking and handicap-accessible rooms are available.
