We stayed at the Rodeway Inn after a lovely day trip to Baja California. The room had no towels and when I reported it the desk clerk he said we stole the towels and will be charged for them. I have lodged a complaint with Choice Customer Service. I can not recommend this lodging due the way we were treated.

My family stayed here for a week during a trip to San Diego. We stayed here to save money so we could have a nice vacation. The staff was nice and helpful, although there were a lot of issues. Leaky air conditioner, both in the room and out, spotty television service, lots of noise from the trains and the highway to name a few. But, we figured you get what you pay for. Upon check out, we found we were being charged $75 for a "burned blanket," an issue that I am 100% certain we did not cause. We... Read more

Stayed only one night, Staff were very polite and helpful. Room was clean and ready on time. Breakfast was not the best but it did the trick. The location was great. Walking distance from the border post.

Ths Low budget hotel will be ideal when you are planning to go shopping in mall of americas. the continental breakfast is a basic one but if you want coffe or orange juice for breakfast this will be your option. the overal of the hotel is clean and seems not to be too noizy. the Wifi works decently well with few moments of low speed. I woudl definetelly go to this hotel again since is one of the best options in the zone.

Well, after reading some of the reviews I was a little worried staying here; but I booked it as it was convenient and within walking distance to the Mexican border. Check in was quick and friendly. My room was on the second floor facing the back. The train does travel behind the motel but I never heard it unless I was outside. Absolutely nothing wrong with the room. Clean and nicely decorated and huge flat screen TV. AC worked fine and there was a small refrigerator and microwave. There i... Read more

If you are crossing into Mexico on foot, this is the #1 hotel in San Diego. Though rooms are a bit small, they are well appointed, immaculate and the Front Desk is terrific! Shopping and food abound. Most important you can walk right into Mexico in 5 minutes!!!

If you want a place close to the San Ysidro crossing to Tijuana, this is a good place. It is not a great hotel by any stretch, but it surely does the trick on a budget. And if you are basically just sleep, then go have some fun in the area or over the border, then this place makes a lot of sense. It was clean, WiFi was good, and fairly quiet. If I was coming again, I would stay here again.

This is a budget hotel within walking distance to the Mexico border. It was fine to spend the night but obviously don't have high expectations: *Good value: I stayed here during Comic Con and paid a fraction of the hotels in Downtown and also got free parking during my day trip to Tijuana so it was a very good deal. *Self parking is in a small lot around the hotel but free *The lobby/reception area was closed when we arrived at night so we had to check in through a small window while standin... The room smelled a little, I thought the elevator was going to drop, and the closest restaurant was 7-11. Despite all of this, I give it a 3. It's reasonably priced, as clean as it can be, and it is walking distance to the border. Check in, and hang on to your valuables.
