Stayed two nights. Location is super-convenient to the Marin County Veterans Auditorium. Rooms are typical Embassy Suites bedroom + living room. Positives: food service very good: breakfast buffet was quite varied, with enough places to sit. Dinner a bit above average for hotel food. Negatives: when we got back after our day's activities around 3 pm, our room had not been cleaned. Keurig coffee maker in the room is a nice touch, but ours didn't work. Requested repair or replacement at the desk... Read more

The main level of the hotel was nice but the rooms were really dated, worn, and smelled musty. Overall it was clean but it was really not for me. The overpowering hotel smell and musty smell made my stay very uncomfortable

Evidence of age and lack of proper maintenance were everywhere. On the positive side the check-in process was great. The disappointment was primarily in regard to lack of response to maintenance issue and very evident signs of wear and tear in the room, i.e. torn drapery, window frames had peeled paint that had been painted over without first removing the peeled paint. The greatest disappointment was to return to the room after a day's work and find the empty soap box floating in the toilet bowl... Read more

The Father of the Bride booked a block of rooms at the Embassy and it was wonderful. The staff was very accommodating, including letting me borrow a dozen champagne glasses for us to have mimosas at the mobile hair salon that parked in the front side of the hotel and used an outdoor outlet. The entire staff made this a wonderful, memorable event for us, coming from PA. The food was fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble including soy mild for breakfast.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we loved it! The hotel is clean, the room with the king size bed is huge. The bed is super comfy. The front desk personnel is friendly and always prompt to help you. We had an issue with the heating around 10 pm and they sent the technician to fix it right away. The breakfast is amazing, lots of different options and very good. Besides of the buffet you have the option of ordering omelette, eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc to be prepared just for you. The free evening s... Read more

1. Perfect location near north San Francisco attractions (China Camp State Park, Muir Woods, Sausalito, Golden Gate, lighthouse) 2. Great service during breakfast and reception 3. Stayed in 356 (corner suite); great view of the hills ... I saw elk, deer etc. right from the room 4. Very courteous staff 5. Only improvement suggestion: beds were a little too soft and mushy ...

Very pleasant place to stay. Rooms and staff is nice. Quality of maintenance could be improved, they indicated they are about to renovate but the issues encountered had little to do with renovation. Main problem that bothered me was that breakfast service does not accommodate vegetarians, they pick up the omelette vegetables with same gloves they pick up meat and use the same pans without cleaning, even when told this is unacceptable. Obviously breakfast is high pressure time, but they should fi... Read more

The hotel is an easy drive to Muir Woods and Sausalito and just an hour south of the wine valleys. As with most Embassy Suites, it is dated, but it appears the Hilton corporation is making an effort to update them. The evening cocktail hour and the morning breakfast are always pleasant and well received, if not top shelf. I find the hotel to be a bargain and also a place to unwind a little.

My daughter and I stayed here 3 years ago, and I knew the hotel to be a good find. It did not disappoint this time. It is an older property, but it is well-kept. The staff was efficient and helpful, and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was fantastic. Getting to San Francisco is a short 25 minutes or so away, depending on traffic. I was there with a combination of business and pleasure this time, and my group headed to Muir Woods for our fun morning. It was an easy drive from the hotel, and we... Read more

Furniture was the original furniture since the hotel was built. I had some issue with the room, some things not being fix in the room, however as soon as i talk to the front desk and filled my form out it was taken care of right away. I got an upgraded room on points and the carpet had stains and it smelled like smoke. When my wife notified the manager, he agreed and said, yeah we're due for some remodeling. Got back from the Giants game and ordered a salad with room service. They said 45 minutes at the latest. After an hour I cancelled the order because it was after 11. They were not happy, and even came up to my room after to try to drop off. Lots of attitude when I refused. Disappointed this hotel is under the Hilton ba... Read more

This property is immaculately clean and well kept. Although it is a bit isolated it is near the sheriff station and it feels safe. Quality of food ingredients is very very good but not spicy or particularly interesting, tends to be salty. The cocktail reception is clean but very repetitive and not worth talking about. Emphasis is on the two free cocktails not the snacks. Bartenders a little friendly. The bed is very good quality. The room suites are attractive. Not really a good desk a... Read more

The hotel has all it needs to be really good one with exception of WiFi. It has been complimentary, but unstable and horribly slow in our room. The hotel is fine otherwise, coo to 101, but quiet, clean and they serve good breakfast. Just the WiFi needs some improvement. Regardless that annoying fact, we would return without hesitation.

A separate living room separated the bedroom( which was very clean) was great. The food at the restaurant was outstanding. The" on the house social time " from 5:30 - 7:00 was very nice. It's a great place to stay.

All in all, a good stay. The hotel definitely shows it's age, but everyone works hard to keep it as nice as they can. Breakfast (which is buffet and made-to-order omelettes) was lacking a little, bacon and sausage weren't very good quality. Had a fire alarm while we were there, but employees did their best to keep us informed. Would go back.

This is a great hotel. Stay here and make day trips. Catch the ferry from Larkspur to San Francisco. Do not miss Point Reyes National Seashore! Hotel has a wonderful breakfast and cocktail hour. We loved the walking/jogging path behind the hotel.

I've stayed at many Embassy Suites and they pretty much all look and feel the same. However, I was a little disappointed by the rooms at this one. They seemed a little bit smaller and the beds didn't seem up to the usual Embassy Suites standards. I was tempted to give a 3 star rating but it's tough to beat the happy hour and breakfast buffet. Also, we got bumped the first night because they overbooked. However, they offered us a free room at a nearby Courtyard (which was actually very nice)... Read more

We arrived on July 4th to find several roads closed plus the majority of the town at a fair that ended up having fireworks. The hotel was packed because of this. Our room was very nice and clean. We've had the opportunity to stay in a number of ES's lately and each of them has felt like they were right out of South Florida in the 1970's. Pink walls, frilly awnings, watered down drinks and basic cheese and crackers in the happy hour and mediocre breakfast offerings. The concept of a suite hotel was unique back then but now the center courtyard, although grand on entry, creates dark rooms with windows facing interior hallways. A convenient place to relax for families, near enough to San Francisco, and yet located in a peaceful and relaxed setting. We found the location of the hotel ideal located not only to San Francisco, but also to Muir's Woods, and Bonita Lighthouse and the Sausalito Headlands. It was also easy to drive to Petaluma and points north. I found all of these features to be perfect for visiting the Bay Area and points north.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was very good especially Jonathan, the bartender! The food and service was really good. I ended up eating dinner every night at the hotel. Most Embassy Suites have been around for a while, I think most were built in the 80's and 90's. This property is well maintained and is right next to the Marin County Civic Center which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Only quirk was that our room did not have a directory book (hotel/surrounding area information). Never asked front desk about that, didn't need anything from book???
