We stayed here the night before boarding a cruise. We had a very nice stay, the property backs onto a marina which made for a wonderful morning walk. The hotel is what you would expect from a ??good?? Doubletree. Good clean rooms comfortable beds and the expected amenities all well maintained. What separates one hotel from another is service. We had a delayed flight arriving into LA and as such were way behind on planned activities. The gentleman who greeted us on arrival asked if we had pl... Read more

My husband and I stayed for only 2 nights but we experienced such top notch, gracious service from the staff at the front desk, that we want to return for a longer stay. Definitely, the best part of our trip was that GiGi, Justin and Juliana consistently went out of their way to ensure that we were having a wonderful time. We loved staying in the Junior Suite, which was large, clean and cozy and faced the marina. Delicious breakfast and lunch on the deck outside of the restaurant with our dog wa... Read more

We stayed for one night in a 1 King Marina View Junior Suite. We arrived at 1 am and it was nice that they did not give away the room that we were assigned from mobile check-in. Of course the Doubletree cookies at check in are also an added plus. Positives: - Hotel location - Right on the marina, and, if it was a quiet surrounding that you needed on a Saturday night, this was the place to stay. - Room and Size - Junior suite bed area opened to a separate living area with 2 sofa chairs and a f... Somehow our reservation for a handicap accessible room got mixed up, but thanks to the efforts of Jan and Elizabeth we were upgraded to an accessible suite at no extra charge. The room was spacious (very easy to get 2 wheelchairs around), clean, and tastefully decorated. The entire staff were amazing, there's just too many to name them all!! If we ever get a chance to make it down that way again, we will definitely being staying here.

Stayed there for a reunion. There is nothing close by, so captive audience syndrome prevails. No fridge or micro in the room and breakfast cost $16 (but the coffee was undrinkable) -- on top of $200 for a room. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable.

Let's start with the good. Breakfast was much better than previous reviews. It appears they've fixed staffing and quality. Breakfast manager was visibly engaged doing great work. Now the reasons I wouldn't return: Floors are covered with cheap berber, no padding, resulting in hearing every footstep over your ceiling. The layout is also sprawling with a single elevator hub near the entrance, so if you're in the low rent district, it's a hike. Arrived well after midnight, wanted to come back for ... Read more

We returned to the DoubleTree for a couple of reasons. First being that last year we had a GREAT experience and wanted to experience that feeling again. The second reason was that it was close to the event we were attending and could walk there. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean. Plenty of parking and the food and drink in the bar late night was perfect.

From the time I checked in it seemed that there were issues, first with the booking, which my insurance company arranged. The hotel had me wait at the front desk while they waited to confirm the check-in date, even though they had plenty of rooms available, instead of allowing me to check in and settling it once they received confirmation from my insurance (It was resolved as soon as I called my insurance rep from my cell phone while standing in the lobby). Then I was told breakfast was included... Read more

My husband and I were attending a wedding in the late afternoon that our son was a member of, and he and his girlfriend had made reservations a week before at this same hotel, which we had booked 2 months in advance. As HHonors members we had requested a higher floor away from elevator. Our son had checked in earlier in the day, as he was a member of the wedding party. Upon checking in, we were greeted as members and told we were on the HHonors floor with a marina view. Upon entering the room, w... Read more

The hotel is set right by the marina and my room looked out onto the water. I slept very well; it was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Staff was very pleasant and efficient, everything in the restaurant/bar area was good; food, service and setting. I would stay here again if I am ever back in the area.

We've been on many cruises out of the Port of LA, but this was our first stay at the Doubletree. We really enjoyed out stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It would have been nice if breakfast were included in our rate since they had a buffet for "some" guests, but we had a car and were able to drive a short distance for breakfast.

Our stay was fine. The room was clean. We stayed here for the Cruise & Park. It suited that need. The room was nice, the tv wasn't plugged in, so it took a while to figure out what was wrong. The breakfast buffet could have been better, especially for the price. The pick up for the shuttle back from the cruise took an hour, that was unacceptable.

The facility is about 15 minutes from Long Beach port for Carnival cruise. Clean facility and would stay here again . There are many opportunities to visit various museums in the area. In addition, to being close to a yacht club. The morning wait staff, especially, Arturo was excellent! He was very helpful and professional. I wish that I could hire him for my company because of the great customer service the provided.

This hotel is perfectly situated right on a marina, within walking distance of all of San Pedro. There are miles of dedicated running/biking trails along the ocean, right outside the front door, or you can sit on the patio and breathe in the salt air while looking at the marina. The staff is exceptionally friendly and catered to my every need. The food in the restaurant was excellent as well - local, fresh, and just downright good.

I enjoyed this hotel very much. The dining room patio and surrounding grounds were lovely and relaxing. The room was quiet and comfortable. the bathroom had a make-up mirror which is important to me. It was near the city life but felt far from the hustle and bustle of LA. It has a very peaceful feel and is one of the best hotels I have stayed at recently, and I travel a lot. I was a little nervous when booking since the price was a little high (you get what you pay for so I didn't mind) and I didn't know if it had been updated but was very happy once I arrived. I stayed two nights at the Doubletree and enjoyed the location and room. My only quibble was with the dining room service. I was there for a government sponsored meeting and I know dropping 75 or more people into a restaurant all at 11:45 can present a challenge for wait and kitchen staff but if you know there is a meeting (and there are no walking-distance alternatives) make some plans people! I expected a functional hotel in a working port. What I got was a delightful facility, location and most of all service and kindness. Manny T. in the restaurant customized a meal to address my gluten and lactose intolerance that was gourmet Italian cuisine! Everyone was so kind there I brought my wife back when we were in the area two weeks later. I asked a friend whose Dad lives there if he knows of this hotel and he said he wouldn't stay anywhere else. Bravo!

The DoubleTree by Hilton is by far one of the best Hotels I have stayed in. I get criticized by friends and family for over paying for a room I??m just going to sleep in. I don??t see it that way. I??m paying for comfort and a clean room where I won??t be visited by creepy crawlers?? at night. Not to mention the amazing location, right next to Cabrillo Beach. The staff was wonderful, and if you??re a member you get these amazing cookies.
