Had meal in restaurant Monday wine per bottle half price excellent value. Lots of things to choose from. Steak was exceedingly good. Recommend without any hesitation. Did not stay at the hotel which also seems to be excellent. Easy access to downtown San Jose lovely location.

When you find a really caring staff it usually means that someone at the top is paying attention and setting a tone for overall customer service. We found kind, thoughtful, professional employees at every turn - valet, front desk and the concierge lounge. Christian at the front desk went out of his way to be helpful. Trenel at the Concierge lounge was the best host ever! When we first came in he toured us throughout with pride of ownership and hospitality, and the next morning he even rememb... Read more

Absolutely great for business trip. All that was needed in the room, which was quite spacious. Pool on the third floor (so a roof top pool, but not really on the roof). Not much in the way of a view, decent - if repetitive - breakfast. Connected to a huge conference centre.

I was here for 2 nights and the staff at the front desk, for room service orders and at the dining areas were all very nice. The food was good and the room was clean. It was easy to walk to restaurants from the hotel.

People are warm and nice, and I'm not just talking about the staff but those who are checked in, too! When service is great and clients are happy, people tend to pay it forward. That's how you can tell the hotel is doing a great job: nobody is grumpy. â?¤

This Marriot San Jose is in downtown San Jose and right next to the San Jose convention centre. The room is very spacious and quiet. You can hear the occasional tram but you would benefit from staying on a higher floor. The tram stop is less that a minute's walk from the hotel. There is a pool and jacuzzi and a well service gym. After 11pm room service stops but the sell a turkey sandwich in a box with crips and a bottle of water. It also comes with a salad and croutons. There is parking ... Read more

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary by renewing our vows (the whole church & reception) & we decided to choose the Marriott as our venue as our first meeting with Gigi was a great experience. We met a few times & exchanged multiple e-mails before we finally signed our event contract. We were then handed over to Rita who became our event coordinator. Rita, by far, was always accommodating, very responsive, on top of things, super friendly, and just an overall JOY to work with. She made this who... Read more

We always stay at San Jose Marriott when attending events in downtown San Jose. The hotel is connected to the convention center and close to many good restaurants and event venues. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. The onsite restaurants are nice with great service. Free wifi is offered for Marriott rewards members. Valet parking is good, but it would be nice if they can also provide self parking. Overall this is a great hotel, and we will not hesitate ... Read more

Amazing view of the mountains and super cool artwork in the room. I loved the bathroom and the lighting. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. I stayed here because I was attending a conference next door and the hotel was adjoining. Stayed here for 4 days and had a very pleasant stay. The staff went above and beyond to assist me and give me restaurant recommendations and walking directions wherever I wanted to go.

Was here for one night before moving on and have no real complaints other than the price for a simple lunch and drinks. Parked next door at convention center and it's only a 5 min walk to lobby. Room was good size and modern. Bed was comfortable and bathroom is good size. Had lunch and later at night a couple of drinks at the hotel and prices are def on high side. I travelled 12 hours (2 flights and a 3hr lay over in Phoenix) across country to get to the hotel at 3.30pm, to be told that the room was not ready, it only took about 15 minutes, small thing but annoying. The room I stayed in 507 was next door to the service room and was a little noisy especially before 7am! Small thing but annoying. In the morning I went to shower to find no hot water! I called down to reception and after over an hour calling finally got someone to answer to be told that yes... Read more

This stay was a disappointment. Guests were alerted that there would be no hot water from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. one day in the middle of the week. Unfortunately, I had no hot water the following morning and through the afternoon. The front desk staff was almost clueless. At over $300 per night, I expected better. A coupon perhaps, maybe for a free drink or dessert at the hotel restaurant? How about, "Gee, we're sorry." Nothing. No follow-up, full charge for the room and no consolation.... Read more

I managed to get an excellent deal on the room which was excellent as you would expect from a Marriott. Nice clean room with a good shower and a comfortable bed. Location was good for going for a drink downtown, you can walk to all the best bars and restaurants. Quite pricey to park the car onsite for the night but that's to be expected in this part of the US, for sure the more expensive region I have travelled to.

Stayed here for a couple of days and was impressed with the standard of accommodation. Rooms are of a good size, well appointed and with good views. My only criticism would be that room service doesn't operate 24/7. Bottled water is $4 in the room and valet parking is $34 a night.

Pros: - it was connected to the convention center so it was easy to get back and forth -my room had a balcony, which was nice -the pool and fitness center were nice. I just used the weights but it was a nice size with multiple cardio and weight options. -Tanq (the bar) had a nice selection of bar foods and drinks. -the staff responded quickly to my complaints (see cons). This is much to love about this hotel - the decor, the easy access to the convention center, the friendliness of the staff, decent quality food. But... The evening I arrived, there was a note slipped under my door to let me know that the hotel would be repairing the hot water heaters the next day from 10 am - 6 pm and there would be no hot water. Not an issue - I knew I would be up and out prior to that time. The next morning there was no hot water! And no note or any other communication.... Read more

The front desk team was the friendliest I have encountered in a very long time. Extremely helpful, clearly enjoy what they do. The room was clean, fairly quiet ( until the gymnasts showed up) and conveniently located. The coffee shop/ gift shop in the lobby carried nearly everything but unfortunately no Diet Coke. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance if you want to try someplace other than Arcadia.

We stayed here for two nights, and were impressed. The location is terrific, and next to great dining options, the convention center, coffee shops, museums, etc. If you can get the hotel at a good rate, it's especially worth it. It was very clean, recently updated, comfortable beds, amazing linens. My daughter said the gym was the nicest she's ever used at a hotel. My husband and I stayed at the Marriott San Jose for three nights while he was in San Jose for business. The hotel is comfortable but without any wow factor of any kind. We stayed in a king bedroom and the bed was comfortable, the window was small (not floor to ceiling) and, surprisingly, the tv did not allow for a $$ movie channel. A movie channel would have been a welcome option for me as my husband was at a conference and I had time to kill... The pool area was okay-the lounge wicker type... Read more

I love this place! Every time I am in San Jose and in need of a place to stay, I stay here. It has a great location- you can walk around downtown. Its beautiful inside and the staff is so friendly. They hand you water, sangria or orange juice downstairs. There are several restaurants on hand and there is a store/bakery downstairs. The only thing I don't like is the parking but I recommend you park in the lot across the street and walk over to the hotel- its literally across the street.

The hotel was excellent. Room was very good. The tv service and internet in room was awesome. There are lot streaming channel options in tv. The only bad part was breakfast. I stayed for 15 days but the breakfast menu barely changed. This was a corporate arrangement though. All in all a excellent hotel beside convention centre for a wonderful stay.

Stayed here for four nights on business. The hotel was well located for the South Bay Area and right in the centre of San Jose. Most importantly itnis only a 5min transfer to the airport. The rooms were a good size and being on the 21st floor gave great views across the city. The pool and gym were not great but there is a cycle/running path along the river only one block away. Restaurant was good with large portions and a decent range. I would stay here again.

After over 25 years staying at Marriott hotels, this is the final straw. I am writing this from the San Jose Marriott on the 25th floor facing the Westin. The room is no better, and in some ways not as good, as a Super 8. Marriott has done away with luxury comfort. There is a ridiculous chair in here that appears "modern" and no real person can sit in it. No ottoman even if one could. The bed they say is new has shot springs and you sink about 6 inches and can feel the springs. The cheapo... Read more

I was recently informed by Marriott that I have spent 2349 nights in their hotels. I mention this only to reinforce that any comments I make are based on experience, not simply a passing opinion. This is first and foremost a convention hotel. That often proves to validate that they don''t always need to reach for the highest bar to keep competitive. Check in was uneventful with a corner room upgrade and access to the concierge lounge. Since we arrived quite late after an all day flight, I called... Read more

My wife and I stayed for a wedding reception. The staff is very helpful but the air-conditioning cannot keep the rooms cool to the thermostat setting. I kept it at 60 and it never got near 70 degrees. We changed rooms and realized that the heating and air-conditioning system is just bad. At the reception, the area was so warm the air temperature was nearly 80 Fahrenheit. Otherwise, a clean standard fare hotel.
