Checked in early at 8 am on a saturday. No problems but someone told me their car was broken into. Light rail station in front of hotel across street very convenient but trains do not run much after 10 pm so check schedules. Free parking weekends if you are holiday inn ihg priority club member otherwise $13.

Staff are fabulous. Really friendly and super helpful. Breakfast was delish! But the rooms are dreadful, not even a safe in the room! Kept beautifully clean but need total refurb. It's like the land that time forgot. Loved the fire pits on the terrace. Very convenient for airport and the light rail stops right outside (Gish) and is $2 into town which is fab. If they'd invest some money in redec and facilities it could be a fab hotel.

The staff try their best to make your stay a good one, but the tools and facility may be falling behind the times. Newer and more modern properties are popping up all around, and this IHG property may not be evolving fast enough to keep up with the times.

The HI San Jose is an older hotel, but semi modern no frills place. The staff was very kind every time and housekeeping does a good job, although the carpet could use a little love. The hotels location is near DT San Jose/Airport but you still need a car/Uber to get you around. The area can seem a bit sketchy but it is fine, there are neighborhoods in the back of the hotel so not in the middle of the city or anything. The room I got was spacious, but very basic. Bottom line: As another reviewer has written, ??There are ups and downs at this hotel.?? So it??s fine for short stays. The reviews saying that it??s terrible are exaggerations. Chief cons concern, as noted by others, aging HVAC and plumbing infrastructure (though I experienced no extraordinary problems in my room) and the dodgy neighborhood. Not a terrible neighborhood by any stretch, but run down in places and nothing of any merit in the area (except the airport). Pros: It??s about ... Read more

Great hotel...easy to find...Only problem the night we stayed was the Stanley Cup playoffs AND Copa America Centenario with Argentina and Messi events. The hotel was crazy. We had a great shuttle ride the next morning to the airport and they picked us up promptly when we called. Highly recommend this hotel and especially if you want to take a direct flight to San Jose/Cabo San Lucas on Alaska Airlines.

The Holiday Inn San Jose Silicon Valley is about what you'd expect for a Holiday Inn. Clean and comfortable. I especially like the shower and having both firm and soft pillows. But the main reason we choose this hotel for our visits to San Jose is that the shuttle can get us from the hotel to the airport in less than five minutes.

The hotel was very nice and clean. Upon checking the staff was great and at checkout also. The hotel was having a pool party / BBQ for the employees & families. I thought this was excellent it's great seeing a employer taking care of there employees. My room was clean and modern with no problems. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

We hold an annual conference at the Holiday Inn and due to the wonderful care we receive, the location, and the room set up we continue to book this site. Arlindo has been our hospitality contact. He goes above and beyond to take care of all the details for our conference from food to room reservations. This is a quality hotel. The rooms are clean and updated. Food in the restaurant and bar is well prepared and nicely priced. The staff is friendly, hard working and always accommodating. Than... Read more

Stayed here for 2 night on a business trip to San Jose. The hotel is about 15 mins walk from the airport and directly opposite one of the tram/train stops. The shuttle bus starts running every 30 mins from 05:00 to SJC Airport which is about 5 mins away in the bus. The hotel is pretty good but however like all hotels in the area its pretty expensive on week nights, Monday night was almost 2x the Sunday night. This is a very reasonable hotel. Certainly not worth $230 a night which was the room rate when I stayed there. Good things were that as a gold member you don't have to pay $13 a day to park. The breakfast was a good buffet with good quality items, but was notoriously understaffed, restaurant was the same at lunch. Note there is only 1 vegetarian main course available on the menu. Outdoor pool was a good size but the area felt a bit abandoned. The room was good like others have written, it us a b... Read more

Not in the best part of San Jose - a good mile from the main part of town - but convenient to much if you have a car. Very affordable, lobby retro and lively. Handy bar with quick pleasant service. Comfy yard with two open air fireplaces for cool nights. Very interesting and varied clientele - some clearly techies, like me; some a little sketchy-ish. Felt urban with the tight parking situation. Rooms dingyly furnished as in worn, but everything was clean - bathroom, bed. The dingyness did sort o... Read more

The room was small as we wanted to check in early and that was what was available. We did have problems but the front desk tried to fix them. The smoke alarm sounded off at 2:30 AM and needed a new battery. We reported it but it happened again the next day, too. Low flow toilets were also a problem. The area around the pool was nice and quiet. As many hotels near airports do, there was a parking fee of $13 per night. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The TV was only ok and ... Recently, I was in San Jose for a convention at the SAP Center, and I got a hotel via Priceline. I later learned that the hotel was Holiday Inn. This hotel was very close to the convention, has the light rail directly across the street and very close to everything. Looked like there was plenty of parking available both in front and behind the main building. There is a $13 overnight fee but with in and out access. We stay a lot at Holiday Inns, and this one was a step above the usual fare. The staff were friendly and helpful, the bartender was a hoot. We did not eat at the restaurant, just had a drink at one of the tables in the lobby. The outside area around the pool was very nice. The room was large, clean and comfy. I like that Holiday Inn gives you a choice of pillows. I would stay here again.

I stayed at the Comfort Suites in San Jose just up the street last year and had the same problem! The hotel was fine but in the evenings after dark the street people take the streets and you don't really feel very safe walking around. Other wise the hotel was busy, near the airport, and good amenities like a pool, fire pits on the patio, and a bar and restaurant.

Hotel was in a good location to the convention center, and got a great deal on it through Expedia. Room was very nice, and staff was nice, but when we returned to our room the 2nd day they did not clean our room. When I called to tell them, they did not even apologize and I had to ask them for some clean towels at least so we could shower. I thought it was strange, and at least they could apologize.

From arival to departure this location yells 1970's. Outside is a pastel, lime-green color. OK, not unusual for Holiday Inn, just a bit dated. Parking is limited space and behind gates. Remember to take your parking ticket stub for validation. Then on entering the hotel the 70's hit in full force. Orange textured couches, swirling, psychedelic patterns on the carpets, and almost "Partridge Family" colors all around. The check-in was good (a minor problem with my credit card was handles w... Worst part of this hotel is the lack of coffee shops within walking distance, but the train stops across the street and the Ubers are plentiful. Other thoughts: * The liquor store next door is incredibly sketchy. * The pool/bar area in the middle adds a lot of noise if you're going to bed before 11pm * If you bring a Chromecast, the TVs are enjoyable to use. Otherwise the channel changes so slow it hurts. * Very comfortable beds and great facilities for sitting & doing work on a laptop

@HolidayInn San Jose Airport - Worst @HolidayInn experience I've had this far. My boyfriend is temporarily disabled and just relocated to San Jose from Atlanta for a job. I've stayed in hundreds of HI properties and this one was one of the best. From Crystal at the front desk to the shuttle service that I used to and from the airport. This is a good hotel with spacious rooms and usual amenities but quite pricey. It is near the airport and has a restaurant with room service. There is a charge for parking (unless you are a rewards member) but there is also a hotel shuttle (which was not available for my trip from airport to hotel so I took a cab and hotel reimbursed). But the reverse shuttle (hotel to the airport) requires a reservation so plan ahead to be on time for your flight.
