Pros: If proximity to downtown and the airport matter, this hotel will check those boxes. The size of the rooms was great. No shortage of space. Lastly the staff was exceptional. Very accommodating and apologetic to our onslaught of problems. Cons: So here's where things get bad. Overall the lobby gets a solid C. You can see that it's a bit dated, but it offers sufficient amenities. A bar (that stays open late) a Steak House, and gift shop. Unfortunately the rest of the property is in... Read more

I've stayed here a number of times and it is always very clean, neat, and the staff is wonderful. The rooms are well apportioned and they even have complimentary Wall Street Journal Newspapers, which I appreciate. There is a Starbucks in the lobby, near the restaurant. The workout room has all the workout gear I like. Overall a great hotel.

This hotel is in close proximity to the San Jose airport which is a plus. I can only vouch for the rooms as I did not eat at the restaurant or go to the bar. The decor is dated - think oak trim and dark carpet. The rooms are on the larger side, but they need updating. Some of the common areas/hall ways weren't as fresh as they could be either. I would not recommend this hotel to someone unless they didn't have many options and just wanted a place to sleep to catch an early flight.

This is my 4th stay here over the past 2 months and I really love it here. When I was here in SJ for work 2 weeks ago, every single hotel in the San Jose area was fully booked and I had to stay in the Los Gatos Best Western...quite a bad experience, but I will write that review separately... Now for the Doubletree. They pick you up at the airport 5 minutes after you call them, and another 5 minutes later you are literally in your spacious room with your great view. We decided to stay here over Memorial Day weekend to attend the Clockwork Alchemy and Fanime Con. It's convenient because all Clockwork Alchemy activities are here and we can also take a shuttle to Fanime Con from here. The room is spacious, but desperately need an update. The bed, bedding and pillows were not comfortable. We were on the 3rd floor and did not have any water pressure (why?). It was ok but could be better as far as service. Prices are high within hotel. We got a good rate but any request we had to pay more. We did upgrade to a pool view room but it cost to do it. We had a good time at the event.

Stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton because my conference was held at the hotel. It's good overall. The room was clean. Internet access was good, especially with the wired connection in the room. However, I probably expected a bit more because of the Hilton brand. There's no safe in the room.

It's convenient due to its proximity to the airport. The beds are very firm. Not too firm for me but my wife had a hard time sleeping on them. I cannot find one negative thing to say about this Double Tree in San Jose. The room was spacious, very clean and the amenities were all in working order. The service in all areas was excellent. The staff was cheerful and extremely helpful. We were a group of 530, so being so kind could have been a challenge, but not for the employees here.

I needed a room for one night near the airport and this was a perfect choice. Arriving late (and tired), I was pleased to find the Registration, Guest Services, and Valet staff to be courteous, kind, and extremely helpful. Of the hotels I visited this week, this one really required the least interaction. I did a park and fly which was handled perfectly. Drove to SJC, checked in, parked my car, slept and left. The hotel is located very close to the airport and downtown San Jose. It is older but clean. We had some issues with the plumbing in our room but it was dealt with in a timely manner. My biggest complaint was the breakfast buffet. It was AWFUL! I was embarrassed to have my team eat on property and our breakfast was free. I can't imagine paying $21.00 for it. Also, the club level selection of snacks was minimal. Very disappointing for a Hilton property.

The Double Tree San Jose is expensive. Because there are so few choices in the area, they put the minimum into the facility. Patrons are hostages because of the lack of options. If there were competition in the area they would need to update the 1970s decor and furnishings.

Totally unacceptable...especially if you are going to charge people to park there. This is the main reason for the rating. I finally found on the other side of the convention center. I found a last minute reduction in room price to meet the Federal Guidelines under which I travel. I switched hotels from the Ramada on Fairchild in Mtn View to here. Upgrade!! Although there is quite a walk from the front of the hotel to the room elevators, it was a delight to stay here. Spacious rooms, very good breakfast, fantastic hotel staff service from the maids to the front desk, warm cookies! I did have a problem with my shower and they fixed it very quickly. Conveniently located near the airport and a couple of interstates, this massive hotel is a good choice for business travelers. The rooms are well appointed, with comfortable beds and soothing neutral colors. Coffee maker. Well-equipped fitness center. Front desk staff worked efficiently and of course, one of the reasons you pick Doubletree are the chocolate chip cookies and the just out of the oven ones I was given were a perfect welcome after an airplane flight. I was there for two evenings, and booked this hotel based on location and price point. The room was large and very clean. Front desk was courteous. I didn't dine in hotel but they have a steak house that had a nice selection of beef and fish. Price was 30.00 and up. I would recommend this hotel.

Convenient location near the airport with free shuttle. The room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly. Was never able to get the "Digital Key" to work for my room so was happy that I decided to stop by front desk on arrival. Staff member gave me a key card in case the Digital Key didn't work and I was pleased to have it. I decided to order dinner from room service and the ribeye steak with asparagus was delicious! Highly recommend it!

Diamond member of several years here. You might want to check out my review of the hotel I did on 5/27/16. The gist of that review is that it was a fantastic hotel, but at $330/night- even for SJ, it was not a 5 star experience. This time, I stayed there for half of the price. Quite simply, this is one of the best values I've had in a hotel stay anywhere considering that I am a Hilton maven. I strongly encourage Hilton Honors to take advantage if in the area. Great hotel, attentive staff with a great hotel restaurant. Had a few days to chill in San Jose, this hotel was a nice stop for it - big gym, sauna and a nice lap pool (not heated and on a high floor so it's windy). From the clientele it's a business style hotel so probably not ideal for any families

Nice large conference hotel. Pretty clean facility, good food and lounge areas. Overall a little pricey but common for the area. Don't like that they charge hotel guests for parking 22 per day minimum. Although this seems the trend for these hotels, you do have to figure it in your room rate when comparing prices.

Just spent 2 night there, king room. The hotel is beautiful, but you can tell it is not new. Popcorn ceiling in the halls and rooms.. The bed - king - was comfortable, but the bedding was horrible. It is 90 outside, the beds had a sheet and a down type comforter, the sheet was not enough to keep me warm and the comforter made me a hot mess. Rethink the bedding, something light for sometime. Yes, the room had AC but I do not crank it up to keep from burning up when sleeping.

Don't expect Spencer's to be accommodating. They have their own agenda and it does not include the guests. The hotel needs to get a restaurant that caters to the people that stay there. This hotel's Decor & finish is very dated. Poor room quality - no hot water in shower. the Sink was back up and the fllor below it was wet. For $300/night, its simply of no value. Lower cost hotels near the airport may be better choice. Staff showed no empathy and simply said "thanks for letting us know". My admin found herself in a debate with them after my stay for some level of room credit to offset, which they did eventually concede.
