" Although we requested a room away from the street, we were on street side. Just there for a show which the theater was halfway up the block. The deluxe queen room for one night stay was clean and very quaint. The staff was very courteous and helpful. In the morning, I had to tell the maids to lower their voices because we were still sleeping. Location was very conveniently close to downtown, Union Sq and lots of good eats nearby. We used the valet parking and was able to leave our car even after checkout as long as we retrieved it within 24 hours of our previous check in day. Only problem with the room was the hot water faucet handle was difficult to turn off but it didn't inconvenience us. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others."

"We arrived at 8:30 a.m. and had intended to Valet Park, go out for the day, return to check-in. OMG! There was a room vacancy ready and they suggested we could check in then (no extra charge). What a nice surprise. Thank you. The hotel was older, well maintained, quiet, located couple blocks from Union Square/Powell, down the hill a few blocks is Market and Cable cars for the tourist. Didn't hear the neighbors, could hear the maids in the morning chatting in the hall, opening and closing doors and outside noise was only sirens (they have double windows to keep it quiet). Its character is the water pipes whine, moan and groan next door when people shower; makes a unique alarm clock in the morning. The minor downside is no coffee pot in room or lobby and no ice machine accessible by guest. The options are to order room service at $5.50 a craffe plus $2.50 delivery plus 20% gratuity and order ice through room service and provide tip. Leave the hotel and go a couple doors down to the well known Starbucks but the would mean getting dressed and waking up first. Has a tiny walk thru lobby. Overall it was very pleasant not fancy. Kinda like well kept old house owned by grandma."

"As I approached the entryway to the Warwick on Feb 18th there is a small step with a red carpet mat on it on which I tripped and fell. The staff came out and helped me up, asking if I was ok, which I was. They commented that that wasn't the first time someone has tripped on that step and that it needed to be smoothed out. .

Several hours later after seeing S.F. I returned at approx 2am I fell on the step again and came down quite hard on my left knee. I filled out an injury report, but not one staff member asked if I was ok.

The Warwick was a very nice hotel and yes, I would return. I just wanted to let you know that step was very dangerous and should be fixed before I could return. My friend and I had a wonderful time in SF."

"Excellent hotel and location. It is an older boutique hotel so don't expect the Marriot. Only minor concern was traffic noise for rooms facing Geary Street (night club across the street).. "
