"Villa Floence is a great location in the heart of Union Square. if you love shopping this is the place to be. I loved the fact you are able to catch the cable car right infront of yur hotel. I do recommend parking somewhere else other than the hotel. The hotel charges $48 a night for parking where you can go across the street and pay $32.,however it doesn't give you in and out privileges. But really you don't need your car while in the city."

"Hotel was noisy and we did not sleep. The rain pounded on the airconditioner all night. Hotel is smelly.

We did have a delicious dinner with 14 of our close friends the wait staff was great. we had some gifts that we had put out on the table before we got there and it was beautiful."

"We requested a room with a view since it was my husband's birthday and we got a view of concrete walls, the worst view I have ever had in a city hotel. We were also only on the third floor. The hotel was well located but the carpets and linens were dirty and the room was very average. I have definitely stayed at better hotels in the city for the cheaper price. Very disappointing."

"Charming, old building. No valet, doorman, bellman, or parking was available upon arrival. Hallway smells a little musty. Bathroom was nothing special, but a good size. Furnishings didn't look that great, aged. Great location, right across from Macys, and the heart of Union Square. Kuleto's offered a horrid breakfast experience and dinner was not a lot better. Bellini's 2 doors down has some fantastic desserts though."

"The hotel has potential, but most of the staff are kind of rude. The location is good, but the hotel is way overpriced for what you get. Street noise is terrible, get an interior room. The Internet SUCKS, I spent time in the lobby or hallways just to get connected. Expect to get gouged for everything. I left my last night to stay in another hotel, just because of the rudeness of the staff."

"Do not occupy room 201 unless you want to stay up all night long. The person at the front desk said it would be a little noisy until the cable cars shut down at 11 p.m. The cable cars shut down at midnight. The room was very nice and spacious and the atmosphere was lovely. There is no queen/double room as advertised. Only double/double rooms. Also plan on paying an addition $15 for 'administrative fee'. Parking is $55 including tax and it took 25 minutes for them to retrieve our car. I would stay here again, but would either park in one of the many $32 parking garages around Union Square or take BART. It is a nice place and conveniently located near many restaurants and coffee shops but plan on paying a minimum of about $220 for a room with parking."

"This older hotel is in an excellent location near Union Square and Macy's. However, our room faced O'Farrell street, and we were there on Friday and Saturday nights. We were in our room both nights, and the street noise, specifically buskers playing pretty badly, was considerable. The cable car sounds were quaint, but the bad music came clearly through the windows. Aargh.
In addition, the hotel claimed to provide WiFi, but we could never get to the place to enter the passwords provided by the hotel staff, and when we asked for help, they connected use with 'Wandering WiFi' who were apparently out wandering, and in two days and multiple tries, we never got the anticipated internet service.
The room, bath, cleanliness, and food in the restaurant were all fine."

Small rooms, and very noisy in street-side rooms - but front desk was helpful in all respects, warned us of street noise and offered interior room. Food @ restaurant (Kuleto's) was great, service spotty, on Sat morning. Would definitely stay here again. "

"When we checked in, the receptionist cheerfully greeted us saying that we were receiving a 'free upgrade'. A free upgrade to a 'queen' bed (it was a double) in a street side room that was noisy all night, garbage trucks came by at 5 am on a Sunday morning. The room was clean and decent but tiny. Not exactly what I expected for a $300 a night 'upscale hotel'. Our much-deserved one night getaway without our kids was not restful or relaxing. I will NEVER stay here again. I will NEVER book with bookit.com again either. I booked a room with a King bed and ended up with a confirmation for a double.....my fault I guess for not pouring through the confirmation email and checking the details. n"

"This hotel is so totally 'San Francisco.' Great old style feel, great location, friendly and efficient staff. Very comfortable beds, and very clean and tasteful. The rooms are small, so if you are used to the big chains you may find that an issue, but I found them cozy. Very romantic as well"

"Vintage feel to the room. But was not as stunning as the pictures. Everything was nice, but the sheets were very uncomfortable. Felt like I was sleeping on sandpaper. I've stayed at other hotels that aren't as nice as this and the sheets were like silk compared to the sheets here. I think I was hyped up to think I'm getting the value for my money, but I didn't get that. Drain was clogged, sink and tub. But great location and clean for the most part."

"I stayed at this hotel due to it's proximity to Union Square and all the shopping. I also liked the idea that it would, most likely, be a European style hotel. It lived up to my expectations and more. I was pleased to be offered a room off the street, was more than happy with the friendly staff, and loved the room. It was small, but was so charming that I did not care. The bedding was especially wonderful! The duvet, pillows and sheets were so comfortable. I even went so far as to remove the three covers from my favorite pillow to see where I could purchase one just like it. I will definitely stay here again!"
