Nice hotel by the wharf. Location is convenient, room was clean, and staff were friendly. The hotel was also willing to hold my luggage for me after I checked out to visit Yosemite. However, there was some confusion because I called before booking and asked if they would hold the luggage and they said definitely. During my stay, I asked the front desk about it and the lady there said there was a change of policy and they wouldn't hold luggage anymore after a guest checks out. However, when I ... Read more

The customer service & friendliness of the staff was outstanding, size of rooms, free hot drinks 6am -9am & close proximity to all attractions at Fisherman's Wharf & Alcatraz are the main high points & are the reason for 3 stars. Other than that the key things l'd point out are: The room we had was a fair size & reasonably clean but it seriously lacked storage (especially in the bathroom), there were shutters only no blinds or curtains so we found the room too light at night plus we were locat... We loved this hotel! When we turned up, they gave us a courtyard room "as it was quieter" (so thoughtful!), the room was spacious, the bathroom clean and comfortable to use. The bed was so comfy, and I am fussy! There was enough space for our clothes and bits n pieces without cluttering the room. The hotel itself was really peaceful, and relaxing, everyone seemed very pleasant and nice. All the staff were super polite and attentive. They also recycle lots, and offer incentives for not using hous... Read more

We stayed here 2 years ago and had a wonderful experience. When our lodging plans fell through, we were pleased to be able to get a room here. We were greeted by Matt, the bellman, who remembered us from our last visit. "Your name is Susan, right?" He was friendly, professional and incredibly helpful. Our room was fabulous, and we took advantage of foregoing the daily cleaning in favor of earning Best Western points. One of the best things about this place is the location. We walked to the Fa... The hotel is in an amazing location, really near fishermans wharf & close to pier for getting over to Alcatraz. Not the biggest rooms but more than adequate and the staff were great especially the staff in the bar. Would return here again if ever in San Fransisco

Convenient Location to fisherman's wharf. However, location alone should not persuade you to choose this hotel. Here is why: location makes this a very expensive hotel. However, the elevated price does not include any conveniences of even less expensive hotels. I have stayed here twice to make sure my first negative stay was not a fluke. My first stay was marred by outdated rooms and dirty carpeting. USB ports in room did not work. False fire alarm at 1 AM in the morning. Pre-ordered breakfast n... Read more

Hotel was nice, in a great location. Easy walk to pier 39 and safe enought to walk back to at night. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but it was only a short walk to the Holywood Cafe which I recomend for brekky. Rooms a little small but very clean and there is a nice lobby to wait. Would easily stay here again on. My next visit to San Fran.

In the interest of fairness, I feel obligated to write an epilogue to my previous review regarding the San Francisco Tuscan Hotel. Although the hotel did have various shortcomings such as an apathetic and discourteous front desk staff, some minor problems with the room (missing room safe, broken room amenities and dated decor), in hindsight, these problems were likely exacerbated by the travel events prior to check-in (ie. Hotel‚??s recommended Lorrie's shuttle, leaving us stranded at airport).... Read more

We stayed at the Tuscan for a total of four nights. We stayed there our first night, went to Sonoma for a few days, and returned to the Tuscan for the last three nights. We had asked for a quiet room, and we were not disappointed. The valet service, desk staff, and housekeeping crews were outstanding. I would like to specifically thank Sandi, for welcoming my daughter and me back to the hotel with cupcakes in our room. Francisco, the valet, was also terrific. This hotel has all the necessa... We love the Best Western chain, safe clean places to call home for a couple days. Can't beat the location, parking is expensive but just across the street you can park for half the cost. We setup early checkin and it wasn't a problem, nice option when you are trying to make the most out of the day.

If you are looking for a hotel that is ideally located within walking distance to the cable cars, Fisherman's Wharf, and other tourist attractions, you will discover that there are several hotels that fit this criteria. But, if in addition to location, you want a hotel with a "boutique feeling" . . . with professional and friendly staff members, then I highly recommend The Tuscan. I stayed in March 2016 with my wife for our honeymoon. I dont think there is a better location to stay in San Francisco. 5 mins Walk to Fisherman's Warf, 10 mins walk to North Beach. All the tourist tour companies are within 5 mins walk. Grocery store right next door. Just loved the hotel room and hospitality. We were given a complimentary Champagne as we were on our honeymoon.

We stayed here several years ago and returned. If you want to stay at Fisherman's Wharf--this is a good choice. Fair price for the area & a beautiful lobby. The staff was very nice. We had a late evening flight, so they let us check out at noon & held our baggage while we explored Fisherman's Wharf. They also arranged a shuttle to the airport for us. We had a 1st floor room, which was nice. Miss the free glass of wine at happy hour. Apparently they discontinued it about a year ago.

We stayed here for 2 nights during a brief stop in San Francisco. We checked in early at noon and our room was ready for us. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The building is an older building, but the rooms were clean and nicely appointed. The lobby is really nice and a great place to gather. We checked in and were disappointed to find that we were in a room facing the courtyard, when we did request to face the street. I called front desk right away and asked if we can move to a room with more of a view, and she replied "we are not a view hotel." I then asked for basically anything, the street is nicer for me to look at than looking into every other room of the hotel. So she gave us a new room, but it was the exact same thing, just on the other side of the courtyard. Other than havin... Read more

This is a small, comfortable hotel, maybe 3.5 stars, 2 blocks south of Fisherman's Wharf which means it is easy to stroll over if you like but you can avoid it altogether if like us you think Fisherman's Wharf is a noisy, tacky dump. The staff, from the desk to the bell service to the valet, couldn't have been friendlier. The room was quite clean, though small as others have said; get a queen bed instead of a king for the sake of the extra floor space. Our room was 2nd floor facing the court... Read more

I couldn't decide whether to rate this hotel average or very good. The hotel itself is really nice, the rooms are nice and the location is fantastic. The complimentary coffee/tea in the morning in reception is a welcome treat as we were on a flydrive and had to set off very early most days. Valet parking is also good. We stayed here for 2 nights. First off, I thought the staff was friendly and accommodating. I understand that a city hotel at this price point comes with some sacrifices, such as room size. The problem with the room and hotel had to do with cleanliness and quality, we had a two queen room that had not been vacuumed and we were missing a lounge/side chair. The one chair in the room was a cheap desk chair with a torn seat. We complained and were upgraded to a suite. The two room suite was cleaner, but was very beat up; ... Read more

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well placed with a supermarket round the corner and is a short walk to pier 39 and the wharf. The room had two queen beds which were very comfy. It is, however, a bit tired looking and needs decorating / updating

I thought the Best Western Tuscany was great. We were in Fisherman's Wharf- a perfect spot to start your trip to San Francisco. We had great service at a great price! It made our stay in San Francisco even more enjoyable.

The lobby is lovely, service was wonderful and it's a quick walk to Fisherman's Wharf. The rooms were a bit small, but very well appointed. Lovely linens and extremely comfortable bed. The hotel is pricey, but location, location, location. You are also within a few blocks of a bus stop, trolley stop and Ghiradelli Square.

Great location - on North Point St, so it's a couple blocks from the noisier Jefferson St. Trader Joes and Starbucks just around the corner. Nicely maintained, better than other hotels in the general area. Clean rooms, a little small but comparable to other hotels as well.

I booked a reservation through Priceline. By mistake, I booked two days instead of one. I notified the hotel and they did not cancel the wrong day reservation. Beware of the hidden prices. You must park by valet and it is $55.00 a day, even expensive by San Francisco standards. The food room service is terrible with pizza being the only option even though there is a good restaurant affiliated with the hotel The Sheraton and Holiday Inn in the same area are better bets for sure.

This was the second leg to our trip following 4 nights in Vegas which hadn't been a great experience hotel wise. It's been 2 years since we stayed here previously and was so pleased that the service and hotel was amazing as ever. Firstly rate wise this is actually usually better priced than the holiday inn express on the next block, our request for near rooms as we were also travelling with my mum for her 65th birthday was confirmed on arrival and mini cupcakes and prosecco greeted us on arriv... Walkable location to Fisherman's Wharf for Alcatraz Tour and Hop on Hop off Trolleys. Hollywood Cafe across the street has the best breakfast in town (do not be turned off by the wait line as it moves fast) Grocery store, Trader Joe's and Walgreens nearby. Pescatore Restaurant attached is good. Downside is high price for overnight parking. We waited to pick up our car until the morning that we left....Uber from airport is $22-$23.....Free coffee in lobby and free wifi....We were told that they ... Read more

The hotel is well located a few blocks from Fisherman's Wharf. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff when we drove up. The front desk staff were also great. The room was ok at best. It was clean and modern but small with absolutely no view other than another section of the hotel and roof tops. Valet parking is steep at $55 per night. We skipped the on site restaurant for dinner (as did most of the patrons) since the menu wasn't that appealing. There are not a lot of choices for brea... Read more

This hotel offers a great location within walking distance to many places that we visited. The staff was friendly and available at all times. We did have an issue with not having hot water. We had to call several times to access the hot water. There is no continental breakfast offered, so if you are in a hurry to get somewhere in the morning, you will need to plan accordingly. Our only other issue was that we had no drawer space and lived out of our suitcase for the week. Other than that, ... Read more

We spent two nights at the hotel and found the location just perfect. The room was an adequate size for a family of four with a small bathroom and dressing area. We had no complaints, everything was clean and fresh. With young children the location was ideal for Fishermans Wharf and walking to the trolleys. Safeway is just on the corner across from the hotel which was great for getting supplies for our room. The coffee in the lobby was much appreciated.

So, this was the first stop in a multi-centre holiday and I cannot fault it's location. 5 minute walk and your right in the middle of Fisherman's Wharf. However, despite the name and the very nice ( but expensive) adjacent Italian restaurant, it is not in little Italy. Our room was very small and the sink was in the bedroom, which opened directly onto the corridor. A simple vanity curtain would solve this. The room by room air conditioning was very noisy and adjacent rooms could be easily heard.... Read more

Prior to our trip I researched at least 20+ hotels. This hotel, just blocks from Fisherman Wharf, was the best value. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We weren't really in our room very much, but while we were, it was quiet and comfortable. The king size bed was a comfortable pillow top, and we never heard any sounds from outside or other rooms. There is a restaurant connected to the hotel, we ate breakfast there once, but decided to venture out for other meals. The location puts you right near Fis... Read more

Restaurant had a great happy hour from 3 - 6 with free Bruschetta with purchase of 2 drinks. Good food and reasonably priced. Arrived there at night and thought the area was dangerous. It wasn't. There are just a lot of homeless people in the area at night but no one bothered us. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I did an exhaustive search of hotels in SF before finally settling on this hotel. The price was right (do a multi-platform search for pricing and you can find some good deals) and they don't nickel and dime you like a lot of the other hotels with "resort fees" and "surcharge for existing" types of things. Wi-Fi is free as well. Staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms are fairly small, but very comfortable, clean and quiet. The hotel offers complimentary coffee in the mornings and is decent. D... I stayed here for a conference and the front desk service was awesome but then it was downhill from there. Lucky I was sober when I saw the dog biscuits on the side of the lift as I might have eaten one if I had a few wines. Then out of the lift it smells old and gross it must be the dated carpet or the dogs allowed to stay here. My room was super small with a clean but dated bathroom. Definitely the worst hotel in this trip, after we enjoyed lovely accommodations in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. We booked a room for three adults and we got a horrible 'suite' too small even for two people, with a hideous sofa bed. The girl at the reception - who was UTTERLY RUDE with us - has been totally unpleasant and unhelpful to our needs. The hotel in general is pretty dirty. Parking is EXTREMELY expensive. Our Tuscan experience was positive. The room, while perhaps a little smallish, was clean, modern and comfortably appointed - the king bed was very comfortable. The staff was helpful and the attached restaurant (Peacadore) was tasty. The location was outstanding, 2 blocks to Fishermans Wharf and close to lots of eateries and points of interest. Given the reasonable (for SF) price I would highly recommend the Tuscan.

This Best Western is located just blocked away and EASY walking distance from Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. The check in staff were very nice and helpful. Our room was comfortable, clean and quite (courtyard view / not street view room) Very nice comfortable bed with nice linens. Huge flatscreen TV. Yes, the halls could use new carpet and some paint, but overall a good value for its location. I would stay again.
