Just had a one night stay, it was very well located and rooms are clean and with descent space, had a very good nights sleep, beds and pillows were ok. Buffet breakfast a bit expensive $29, but it's San Francisco.... Not a great view from the room, wish i had a better view.

Even after being warned staying at the Wharf would be very touristy, it was just what we wanted! It's great to walk along the pier at night to find a place for dinner or shop in all the little stores. Visiting the sea lions and just people watching with a coffee is also fun. Easy to get there via walking or the trolley car and fun to explore.

This hotel is well located and only a short walk to the wharf, but there was no security safe in our room. Breakfast at the hotel is expensive, so we asked the Concierge who recommended Cafe 8.30 which is a very short walk from the hotel. It offers reasonably priced food, great friendly service, an excellent menu selection - THE BEST breakfast ever!

Very good location. Walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Clean, comfortable. Check in staff were amazing, the rest of the stay could have used some more professionalism. We were quoted one price for parking but charge one nearly 3 times that amount at checkout. When questioned, the staff just rolled their eyes and told me I misheard the quote. Would stay here again if and only if parking was complimentary. Shop around a little if you'd like. All hotels within walking distance (1 mile ... Read more

Within walking distance to Pier 39 and cable car stops. The staff here was extremely friendly and helpful with everything we needed and they were great with the kids. We needed a screw driver to assemble my son's toy and they even sent someone out to help us with that. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.

If you are a tourist looking to be in the center of what it is to be immersed in San Francisco than this location is perfect. Not only do you have the shops and sights at your disposable but you are also comfortably situated near North beach where there are great restaurants and bars. We enjoyed being able to walk outside of the hotel and into the San Francisco charm. With Ghiradelli square a stones throw away it made for an enjoyable trip. One cool experience you should engage in while in town ... Read more

Switched from another hotel to this Marriott due to the lack of service. Despite making a same-day reservation and arriving early, our room was ready. We were greeted by Sam at the front desk. She was one of the most delightful front desk staff members ever! All of the staff there was great. Clean, quiet and well maintained rooms. As another reviewer pointed out, the A/C system wasn't the greatest but housekeeping provided a fan that did the job. If you want to be close to the Fisherman's... Read more

We had a great three night stay. At check in they upgraded our room and we ended up in a very spacious room. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Their breakfast buffet was great - made for a good start to the day. We only had one bump- a less than courteous person at the concierge one day (I think perhaps he was filling in?). The man that seemed to be the "normal" concierge was very helpful. It's in a great location, just a block or two off Fishermans Wharf. Easy walking to Lombard Stre... Read more

This hotel is within walking distance to everything, Little Italy, Pier, Chinatown, trolley, great location. The room was clean, a little smaller, but that's at any hotel in San Francisco. Concierge, John, was absolutely the best. Always had a recommendation and was spot on. We appreciated his service. They do not have a concierge lounge, but did offer breakfast coupons for my husband and I daily, we had to pay for kids. I would stay here again and recommend.

We stayed at the San Francisco Marriott Fisherman's Wharf for four nights during the 4th of July holiday. One of our favorite parts of this hotel was its location. We were just a couple of blocks (and an easy walk) to the Fisherman's Wharf area. While this is generally a 'touristy' area, it was a perfect starting point for everything we wanted to see in San Francisco. In the opposite direction from the hotel, also just a short walk away (but a little more uphill) was Lombard Street which is defi... Read more

I'm platinum member at Marriott . I stayed at Marriott Fishermans wharf. (so called full service). When I checked in they informed me that they no concierge floor/room. Strike one, they did say I could get the breakfast in looby...can anyone say Fairfield! This morning I didn't get news paper. I spoke to the manager Matt, he said we don't do that, it's not required, and it is wasteful. Strike two. Not a full service Marriott. I got a room at the end of the hall way 402, it is a very small k... Read more

Our arrival started with a very pleasant check in person. We had a small problem with our reservation however, Greg, the manager, was very accommodating and took care of us right away. He even bought us drinks at the bar! The next day our room was not made up when we returned from a day of sight seeing but Greg was on top of things again and saw to it that it room was made up right away with foam pillows and duvet at my wife's request. He even gave us a better rate for the inconvenience! Extra t... Read more

Spent a weekend here on a trip to the west coast. The hotel is situated only a few minutes walk from Fishermans Wharf. Rooms where reasonable in size and clean. Also close to Giardelli centre and the tram terminus which is a great way to get downtown. The hotel is suitable for families but at the time of year we stayed it was expensive - but hotels in San Fran are generally expensive.

Safe area in Fisherman's Wharf. Very convenient. 20 minute walk to Chinatown or to Pier 39. Very clean room. Excellent assistance from concierge. The hotel is laid out in the shape of a triangle so navigating the halls were a little confusing at first (we did NOT get off in the quickest direction to the room from the elevators despite the sign indicating which way our room was). Valet service was excellent as well. The mattress was a little hard but slept like a baby anyway.

We stayed at the Marriot for a couple of nights and choose the Marriot primarily for the location. We were 2 families and overall it was a pleasant stay the hotel is clean and the staff is efficient. The checkin was fast and the lady was very friendly even though we turned up at around the end of her shift. I think her name was Katie. Great job Katie. The hotel is located very close to the wharf (not my favorite place in SFO) and china town,Union square etc are at a walkable distance. Lombard ... Read more

We recently stayed at the SF Marriott Fisherman's Wharf just before a cruise and immediately afterwards. It proved to be a great choice both in terms of location and comfort. The Marriott staff was top notch providing us with friendly service that met all our needs. We chose to do some sightseeing at the Wharf which was an easy 15 minute walk from the Marriott. When we needed a taxi with additional luggage capacity, the bellhop had one within just 5 minutes. Our only negative comment was t... Read more

I was pleasantly surprised by everything at this hotel. The location, the inside restaurant/bar, and rooms. And all staff were very pleasant and professional. My wife and I recently visited here for pleasure and business. We loved this property. Especially the breakfast buffet. Everything was super fresh. You could taste the freshness in the orange juice and coffee, not to mention the top notch breakfast buffet they served every morning. Staff were all very professional and prompt in all of o... Went here on August 1st with my 14 year old nephew. Really liked the room, loved the free coffee every morning and the personable staff. My room door had a terrible "humming" noise throughout our stay. The building engineer came up and explained that it had something to do with a vacuum effect between the door and the window. He added some weather stripping, which made it a little. However, Management was extremely kind, apologetic and provided some satisfactory comps for our troubles. My ... Read more

We were total tourists for 2 days while in SF. I mostly stay in the business district of the city so staying near fisherman's wharf was new. If doing everything touristy in SF -- this is a perfect location. I would not hesitate to stay at this Marriot again. My only negative is that parking was $64 per night which is just stupid ridiculous. But on to the positives: We walked everywhere....all the wharf sightseeing is within walking distance of this hotel. if you wanted to go to the city ... Read more

We spent 3 nights over the Labor Day Weekend. Our room was great but they are in the process of refreshing all rooms. Our tour group ate breakfast in the Red Fin Lounge which was a nice selection of hot items and standard continental breakfast items.

Location was perfect for our visit - convenient access to Fisherman's Wharf, cable cars, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, etc. Rooms were nice - clean and comfortable. We had a late night snack one evening and enjoyed their sourdough bread bowl chowder, and also enjoyed a terrific breakfast there every morning. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyable stay!

Stayed here for our visit to San Francisco. The hotel was what one would expect from a Marriott. It was within walking distance of most of the sights we wanted to see. The day we were to check out we discovered due to hurricane Matthew we would not be able to fly home. The hotel was full but Lilian at the desk was able to arrange an extra night for us instead of having to find other accommodations.

First is location, if you don't get to San Francisco often you should stay near Union Square and go one day to the wharf, don't stay there. This hotel is pricey and low service, there is not a proper restaurant.
