A genuine welcome feeling is not that often felt. Most often than not, you just get the feeling of moving through the line and getting you checked in when you arrive at a hotel. At Omni San Francisco Hotel, the moment you arrive, the valet service are so courteous as well as the door man. You are greeted by such a welcoming hotel lobby and the front desk staff are so friendly and helpful with making sure your stay is memorable. My husband and I stayed at the Omni San Francisco on our way to a 10-day anniversary cruise. Upon checking in we mentioned to the front desk clerk, Henry, that we had never taken a honeymoon so this cruise was our belated honeymoon (after 17 years married). After getting settled, we toured the city by foot and grabbed some dinner. When we returned to our room, the front desk staff had sent us champagne and chocolate with a hand signed note "Happy Anniversary". What a surprise and delight!

The hotel was beautiful, the staff were very friendly. Our room was small and not much of a view even though we were on 12th floor, but nice. The location was not great for tourists. We walked to Union Square several times and it's not a hard walk, unless you are wearing high heals. So it depends on what you are looking for. I think I will stay in Union Square next time but very much enjoyed this hotel.

I have come to love Omni hotels and resorts. The service they provide is top-notch, rooms are always clean and comfy and staff are amongst the friendliest out there. During my stay at the Omni San Francisco, I found most tourist attractions to be within walking distance. There were plenty of restaurants nearby as well. On the day of my checkout, the front desk was gracious enough to provide me with a generous late check-out. It's these nice touches that show just how Omni goes above and beyond ... Read more

We stayed 6 nights in this marvellous hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. The rooms are large, elegant and beautifully equipped. The location is superb. Close to the waterfront, on the cable car route, a short walk to Union Square and - best of all - on flat ground so you don't have to climb a hill at the end of a day of sightseeing. Surrounded by pubs and restaurants. And the very friendly staff welcome you back every time you return with genuine warmth. Can't recommend it highly enough!

I recently stayed at the Omni San Francisco for a business trip and it was an excellent stay. The entrance to the hotel is grand, and the service is too. This hotel has the friendliest staff I have ever met. I loved the room and slept very well. The breakfast in the restaurant was slow, but the food was yummy. All in all, I would happily stay here again and will recommend others to do so as well.

Everything about this hotel was top class from the friendly service, to the spacious and comfortable room, to the meticulous and consistent level of cleaning and maintenance. The Omni is well-located and walking distance to some SF attractions and many modes of transport. Our first Omni hotel experience and one which we would willingly repeat.

Stayed here with family 3 nights sharing 2 rooms. Unfortunately despite our request the hotel did not manage to give us connecting rooms even if they could have foreseen this. Fine, we got rooms on same floor but not easy with 3 kids. Rooms are large and comfy, very clean but noisy on the street side and terrible view on opposite side looking on the wall of the neighbouring building. This hotel at first looks quite 'old school' but it has been modernized and provides excellent service. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was surprisingly large. There are also great restaurants within walking distance. My one tip - avoid the hotel parking (approximately $65) and park in a nearby lot for less than $30 or on the street on weekends.

This is a very classy hotel. And the people that work here are very, very nice, helpful and accommodating. I wish we could have stayed longer. We doubled parked in front of the hotel, since there is no parking, and the car valet and the hotel valet immediately came out to take our car and our luggage. While checking in, someone brought me two bottles of water. There is fresh fruit and chilled water or lemonade in a jug in the lobby. The hotel is old, but beautifully kept in good condition.... When you pay $450.00 a night, you can only hope for something that isn't just living off its reputation from long ago. Unfortunately, the Omni is just an old hotel without much in the way of modern room amenities (other than a flat screen TV). The rooms are very small and outdated. While not musty, the rooms will cause discomfort to folks with allergies (you will end up feeling very dry within hours of being in the room). We recently stayed at the Omni San Francisco. We arrived late at night after a long journey. I was annoyed to discover that the rooms we had booked were not available. I complained to the manager who apologized and promised to remedy the situation the following nights of our stay. He made good on his word and moved us to an excellent corner suite. He also very kindly sent a tray with sparkling wine and cookies for the boys to the room the next day. Very well done to the manager - Charles McCay.

The Omni Staff are friendly and helpful. The lobby has a lot of charm, and so does the bar. But, the rooms could use a little refresh. The hotel is in a great location; you can take a quick walk to shopping, restaurants, Union Square and even Nob Hill. My only suggestion is that they reinvest into new towels and refresh the guest rooms a little.

Every time someone closes a door my door shakes and the kids think someone is trying to get into our room. I can completely hear all the conversations in the next room over, walls must be thin. The curtains would not close all the way. The door lock also did not work. The room was clean. I expected much more from this hotel especially with their pricing and ratings!

We just stayed at this hotel in San Francisco. It is a great location and a very nice hotel. I had a suite on the 3rd floor which was very nice. The only problem is that I could hear every single thing that happened outside. I checked several times to see if maybe the maid service had left a window open. Late at night I was kept awake by numerous cars and motorcycles, and also by police, ambulance and fire truck sirens. It was like they were in my room. I imagine if I would have had a higher flo... Very comfortable and welcoming and staff were very helpful. The business centre was very useful as regards airline check-in/printing out boarding passes - only thing that seemed remiss was the lack of free wifi in the room. I think most people these days would take this for granted - it's how most people plan their activities and it seems surprising such a classy hotel would charge for wifi in the room. This was my first visit to the West Coast of the USA, and when M (my "Better Half") suggested we go to San Francisco, I strongly favoured staying at the Omni, as we had both had generally positive experiences at that Group's hotels elsewhere. This proved to be a very good choice. What registered with us from our arrival was the warm welcome most of the Omni staff give to visitors like us, followed up by supportive actions. We were speedily directed to our Room on the 16th Floor by a pleasant Fr... Read more

The service by all the staff is absolutely outstanding. And, the location for business in the financial district is superior to other hotels. The loyalty staff makes the San Francisco Omni the only place to stay when on business in the city.

Excellent service. Staff was very helpful, attentive and courteous. My stay was for business and I found the in-room dining excellent. Food was delivered in less that 30minutes. I had a problem with my computer and someone from the from desk came to my room to take care of the issue within minutes. Some of the people I was with did complain that their security was hacked when they logged onto their computer. I brought to the staffs attention when they came to help me with my computer and s... I was put up at the hotel during a business conference. Helpful, attentive staff from the moment we pulled up to the curb. Valet parking only, as far as I can tell. Formal in appearance but not stuffy. Complimentary bottled water and apple cider (seasonal?) upon arrival. Decent complimentary wi fi in the room for loyalty members. Didn't try the pay service. Very nice (and large) bath towels and comfortable beds. Room was clean upon arrival. Only stayed a night so not sure how daily service is. ... Read more

What a great hotel. We expected a typical impersonal city centre hotel but this was much better. The Omni provided the level of service you usually only find in really exceptional hotels (in the UK I'm thinking of the Savoy and the Ritz as examples). This is achieved by truly professional staff who treat their guests like family whilst also delivering five star plus service. From the doorman, to the conciage to the waiting and housekeeping this hotel delivered a faultless experience. It was a... Read more

Omni in San Francisco is a fairly large hotel with the feel of a smaller boutique elegant hotel. From the moment we arrived at the front door until we left the staff was over-the-top helpful, and courteous in a friendly way. Our basic king bed room was spacious, impeccably clean, quiet, and comfortable. Because we enjoy walking and exploring the location is perfect: Embarcadero, North Beach, and the Financial District are all a short walk (even Fisherman's Wharf is not too far). We parked our ca... Very kind and courteous staff - doormen, concierge, housekeeping - everyone seemed genuinely friendly. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were extremely clean. Didn't use any of the amenities so can't comment on them. The location felt vibrant and safe with a large variety of unique restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

We only stayed for one night in Omni but it was a great experience, from front staff to room...which was big, clean and quiet, everything you would expect in hotel like this. We had breakfast at Bob's and also something I would recommend, oatmeal was great.

Stayed at the Omni in SF for my birthday in October and to see a concert that night with friends. Checked into this beautiful hotel while a small band was playing in the foyer. Everyone was very friendly and the gentleman who was checking us in heard it was my birthday and gave us an upgraded room with a view which was very nice. The room was nice and the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was fairly big. We made a reservation for Bob's Steak and Chophouse for dinner before the show ... Read more

I have zero complaints about the hotel, quite the opposite because I loved it! The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. I was able to check in early and it was super fast. They even delivered bandaids to my room for the blisters I got from my heels. It was a great surprise to have the newspaper delivered to my room each morning. The cool towels in the gym was a great touch too!

From the moment we walked in to the minute we left, the experience was great. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Holly at front desk who worked with us in straightening out some reservation issues. The room was very clean and plenty spacious. We faced California street and could hear the cable cars. Just faintly so not a complaint but added to the fun. The location is great for getting to some of the main sites in the city. Stayed there for two nights for my birthday to explore SF. Door sevice is terrible if you are not using VIP parking, and they don't take care of your forgotten item once you left. I lost my credit card there and no one found it. I have to cancel my card to prevent other potential loss. Never go back and would not recommend to others.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel! So happy I chose the Omni. From the moment you step inside the hustle of the city quiets down. The rooms are traditional (which I like), very comfortable, and clean. The bathroom was also very clean, and I'm picky about clean. I also prefer a tub and was happy that they still have a nice tub to soak in! Plenty of outlets for charging devices. Staff all very helpful and housekeeping left nice notes each day. We stayed here as for part of our trip to celebrate my birthday. I was very impressed with the hotel and the staff. The door man sang "Happy Birthday" to me. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful and spacious suite. Our room faced California street and we could hear street noise all night. But the bed was so comfy it almost didn't matter. It was a great stay.

Forget this place. Door staff were wonderful. Only after a "SCENE" did the desk staff (assistant manager and manager) get their act together. Three desk staff people were on the phone 45 min. calling other hotels to find us a room on Sat. night in SF. Hotels were booked solid. The desk people thought it was ok to give our ADA RESERVED room away to a non handicapped person. We had to drive to two other hotels(which the Omni desk said were ADA) to see if they had an appropriate room... first hot... Read more

I recently stayed at the Omni SF for an overnight getaway to celebrate my bday. From the minute you arrive at the property, you are treated like family. Well actually, more like the highly successful family rock star! From the doormen to the front desk staff and everyone in between, the welcoming atmosphere at the Omni SF was felt. The decor was simply amazing (blue is my favorite color). The room was spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend this property again.

Located in the heart of the Financial District, the Omni is close to so many attractions. Having worked in the City for many years & coming in to celebrate a birthday, the Omni was in the perfect location for planned activities. On the California cable car line, the City awaits you. Check-in was fast, efficient, friendly. The room was large, clean and quiet. Room service before heading out - great coffee, good breakfast. A nightcap at Bob's. I would recommend the Omni SF!

The staff was very helpful. They took good care of me upon arrival. My room was nice and comfortable and roomy, unlike many boutique hotels that can be tiny. The view was not stellar, but I wasn't there to look out windows anyway. The lobby is beautiful and the room was well appointed. The bathroom was large. I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to SF. It was very quiet, which was lovely.

Stayed here Saturday night. The service was impeccable. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room was small but elegant. What impressed me were the "lady" things: a shower cap that really fits your head, a lighted makeup mirror and a full length mirror! Thank you! It was a bit noisy though- you could hear the traffic and cars honking. My husband had trouble sleeping but I slept like a rock. The Omni is a very pleasant hotel located in the Financial District approximately 30 minutes walk from Pier 39 and Fisherman‚??s Wharf. The style of the hotel is classic and the room had a cosy, homely feel to it. There was also a coffee maker in the room ‚?? something that a lot of hotels do not routinely provide. The bathroom was a decent size with a shower over the tub. We had a few gripes hence a four star and not five star rating: 1) No free WiFi in the room ‚?? in this day and age and at... Read more
