Motel near Fishermans Wharf. Easy walking to the wharf and its activities. Room was clean and great to have coffee on tap. Staff were helpful and polite. A good place for a city break (shame about the weather) A cab ride to the Golden Gate Bridge although we did walk it. Lots to see on the wharf. Restaurants of all types. Don't miss the seals!

The location is key here. Everything you could want is within walking distance, and if you have even a moderate level of fitness the walk to/from Fisherman's Wharf is completely doable. The motel doesn't pretend to be anything it's not, the rooms are pretty old but very clean and really there's so many bars, restaurants and other things to see and do within a 10 minute walk you won't be in the room much anyway. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars... Read more

Stayed here 3 nights and provided good value accommodation. Free car parking, free wifi and complimentary breakfast. Even though we were at the front the room was quite and clean. Coffee facilities, fridge, microwave in room were good but bathroom could have done with updating. Fairly central, 30 - 40 min walk to fishermans wharf.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 night excellent location if you want to walk to attractions or ride the cable cars. The parking is tight in both number of stalls to park in and the size of the stalls not for full size cars or suvs. With a good hot shower and microwave plus refrigerator and free parking free WiFi you could pay more and get less that we experienced in Monterey. Continental breakfast which was okay friendly staff.

We had a very good experience at the Nob Hill Motor Inn. 1. The staff was friendly and helpful. They let us leave our car after checkout time as long as we needed to. 2. Noise was not a problem. We could hear people walking by our room but city noise and noise from other guests was absent. The place was about 3/4 full. 3. The location is great. We walked down to the Embarcadero and Pier 39. The next day we walked to Chinatown and Union Square. 4. The facility was well maintained, in good shape -... Read more

Sorry to those who think this hotel earn a 4/5 but I am not agree with that rating at all! First of all, we chose this hotel based on the reviews but if I've only knew all the bad things about this hotel than I would chose somewhere else ... Let start with the good things about this hotel because there are too many bad things in which I don't know where to start with ... - Pricing is pretty low compare with others hotels in the area so we would give a 3/5 - Location is pretty good because it ... We chose this hotel for its location and the reviews were mostly positive. Check in was efficient and Roberto very pleasant; a Continental breakfast was offered. The room was very tiny and the bed just so-so although sheets and towels very clean. I think a change of carpeting may remove the musty smell. The location was perfect and the bus nearby took us right to Fisherman's Wharf.

Priced well for a San Francisco location. Good room. Clean. FRIENDLY staff (Roberto and Will). FREE PARKING is the biggest asset! Security cameras for the off street parking lot. Great location. Found it to be very quiet well before bed time. Even the elevator was quiet. Honestly the same accommodations in any other city would be half the price. But's San Francisco. Other hotels were 2 and 3 times the price of this one...and free parking! Walking distance to everything you might need.

You'll pay a premium for staying in the centre of San Francisco but im glad we did, and im glad we chose Nob Hill Motor Inn, we stayed on a weekend in early June, free coffee machine in the reception, our room wasn't ready when we arrived but wasn't a problem as we parked the car and walked down to Fisherman's Wharf (about 20 mins walk). Plenty of room for our car which was large. We came back some hours later to check in and go to our room, the room was fairly basic of a decent size and clean, ... Read more

Only stayed for one night which was fine; a great base to explore SF on foot, you can get to Lombard street with a short walk, plenty of restaurants around in the area and free parking. The room is small, and a bit musty, with dated decor, but it serves it's purpose well and wasn't too expensive.

bare bones motel, other guests were noisy, rooms and furniture are old, and not super clean. the area is also not great - no much in walking distance. free parking is a plus. but really not worth the $.

Rooms typical of three star accommodation, slightly dark room and felt very dated. Clean and good size includes a full size fridge and microwave in the room, the fridge was very noisy at night and we had to unplug. Free breakfast in the morning consists of cakes/pastries, packs of oats and coffee. Reasonable location 10-15 min walk to Hyde street. Free parking is the attraction. Very friendly and helpful reception staff.

Room was not ready when we got there, and we arrived after Check-in, which constituted quite a change in our travel plans, But the room was very large, I have high expectations in regard to cleaniness, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a little out-dated, but very neat and well maintained. parking, although a little awkward, is free. After Check out the next morning, they let us leave our car there as long as we wanted that day, which was great as parking is expensive. It's close enough to w... Read more

During planning our tour along the US west coast we searched for a hotel in San Francisco and we found the Nob Hill Motor Inn. We booked a room for 4 nights and stayed there in November 2015. As a first result we really can recommend this hotel/motel because: > it is located in the heart of San Francisco > it is only about three hundred meters from the cable car station > it offers parking lots on the ground level > it has big rooms > it is quiet if you have a room in the back of the hotel > it ... The rug in our room was filthy and thread bare. It made our skin crawl. There was trash in the corner by the microwave. The desk staff is nice and agreed to give usb another room. Stay some place else. We stayed here for the location close to the Marina area.

Looking for a place to stay that was in expensive, in the centre of San Fran and free parking. This place was perfect and fit all 3 of my criteria. The staff were extremely friendly and helped me with the do's and dont's of San Fran and the places to go and see. The room was amazingly clean and modern with a kitchenette included. Will definitely be staying again when I return.

In a previous review I was very unhappy with this Inn. The manager moved us our second day to Room 219. It had been redecorated. It was a great improvement over Room 108. Unfortunately the flat screen TV only got one channel. The maintenance staff brought us a new remote and this corrected the problem. Room 219 was fine and quiet, even with the windows open. The breakfast was lacking, sweet rolls, donuts, etc and Quaker Oats instant hot cereal. The coffee machine only brewed one cup at a... Read more

This place has free off street parking, a lift and close enough to bus line and cable car to be a good starting point. Room was large, well furnished and well appointed with fridge, microwave, coffee machine, large comfortable bed. Continental breakfast ( large range of pastries ) was included.

As this was our first trip to San Francisco, we were unsure as to where to stay. Fishermans Walk was very expensive with anything up to $50 parking fee on top. We chose the Nob Hill Motor Inn as it had free parking, wi fi, breakfast etc. The staff were all exceptionally helpful, the room was large with a fridge, microwave & coffee maker. The breakfast was pretty standard but there was always plenty. Some other reviews mention it is not close to the Bay Area. Once we had found our bearings & bou... Read more

If you dont have your own car, you should find another hotel. This hotel is too far from downtown SF. Taxi or Uber is $9-12. Then it is better to spend this money on another hotel closer to downtown. However if you have your own car, Nob Hill Motor Inn, gives you value for money because of free parking. Rooms are old and worn out. Bathroom is also old and cold. Almost no water pressure on the shower. No concierge, no luggage service. Bed and sleeping quality is ok. Free amenities and free iron, ... Read more

If you have a car and wish to stay in the Middle Polk area then you have to consider the Nob Hill Motor Inn. This is the second time we have stayed here and like the easy access to many of the tourist areas and rather than use the car we use public transport if we want to go to other parts of the City. The rooms are remarkably quiet bearing in mind the location. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast items are available from the office and if a continental style meal is not to your liking... Stayed here with 2 families on the weekend. The price was good, location was good. The rooms are a bit run down with some of the chip board coming off the basin in one room and they smell a bit musty so take a nice candle but bang for buck this is a good hotel for the price and we would use again.
