Stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time. Rooms are clean and modern and the free breakfast was good. The bar on the second floor was never too busy when we dropped in a couple times, but the bartenders were friendly and made some tasty cocktails. There was live music some of the nights, but we always missed it. Front desk staff were always cheerful and willing to help with whatever questions we had. The biggest draw for us was the location. An easy walk into some great neighbourhoods. We... Read more

Super impressed at everything this hotel had to offer at this price point. Cool old hotel that has been updated but still has its charm. Good free breakfast. Neat old elevator, creaky stairs, awesome bar on 2nd floor that has live jazz every night. Rooms are a decent size for the age of the building. Don't recommend room 4 if you have an option as its next to the creaky stairs. Staff are attentive and friendly. Amazing location and close to BART and Muni transportation. Would definitely stay aga... Read more

We stayed for 2 nights and loved it. The location is the best (1 minute walk from union station), the staff was friendly and helpfull and the room was in good size. The hotel bar was great and we were able to have a late-night drink and go up 4 floors directly to our room. In that price level mistic hotel is a great choice.

First of all, the staff is some of the friendliest and most helpful I have ever encountered. Kudos to them! I was here for 3 nights while inSan Francisco for business. I used to stay at the Hilton, but felt it had taken a step back recently, so I tried this boutique. The neighborhood is sketchy; there are several signs posted nearby reminding the fine citizens of San Francisco that walls are not to be used as toilets. A store across the street told me that the neighborhood was not safe to walk ... Read more

When someone puts their name to something they are effectively putting theri reputation at stake; if i were charlie i would check in as a mystery guest. Boutique shouldnt mean sloppy, for me there is a lack of attention to detail - shower running cold peak time, room half made up (bed not made but towels changed etc). just looks slightly shabby rather than the chic we associate with boutique hotels. Dark hallways and 'cool' dim lighting should be about style not to hide decor. fAnd agree with ot... Read more

This is a nice and friendly hotel. The service is good and welcoming. The room is big enough and the bed comfortable. There is no air conditioning but the ceiling fan was all that I needed. It's more likely to get cold at night than ever get hot... And there is a good heater. But, single glazed windows in a noisy area do not keep out the constant noise from outside. I don't know if there was something going on, but it sounded like riots outside and there were police and fire engine sirens all n... Read more

Travel was booked on Expedia weeks beforehand, but 6pm of the night of my reservation, the staff called to tell me the hotel was actually overbooked and had rebooked me at a hotel about a mile away. (It was the Hotel Orchard, which was ok, but could use a refresh). I never received a receipt from the Mystic Hotel, and it took three calls to finally get a receipt. The hotel may or not be OK, but my reservation could not have been handled worse (Expedia, I hope you're reading this, too.). It comp... Read more
