Stayed at the marker for 5 nights whilst on business in San Francisco. Hotel was free wifi and a free wine happy hour for guests each evening which was good. Rooms well equipped and bed very comfy Walgreens opposite hotel for water and candy fix and rather than having breakfast in the hotel I would recommend the diner a block to the left as leaving the hotel (note cash only) found the breakfast in the hotel overpriced and not as tasty!

I had stayed at this hotel when it was the Hotel Monaco. It remains a reasonably priced place to stay in San Francisco, with cheerful decor that is not the drab beige of a Marriot or other large chain hotel. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is large with good amenities. Although no coffee pot in the room or breakfast room service, there is coffee in the lobby and good breakfast in BDK restaurant on site. Overall very pleasant. The lobby with fireplaces is warm and cozy

Good location. Nice boutique hotel. Free wine service from 5 to 6 nightly. Good restaurant. Close to car rental drop off and decent restaurants. Would stay here again. Lovely lobby and right across street is a Walgreens.

Great hotel if you are looking to get out of the Hilton, Holiday Express, same old, same old hotel. Cute and decorated in a unique way, it's a great alternative to the "big chains". Fun front desk and highly recommended restaurant and bar.

We had a queen deluxe room which was of reasonable size. You could tell decor had been recently refreshed. Good hairdryer and bathroom amenities. Housekeeping do a good job. Staff friendly and responsive...I noticed a smashed light in the hall which was attended to immediately. Don't miss happy hour 5-6 which involves free wine. Very good location - less than 5 mins from Union square. There's also a Walgreens across the road for any snacks or bits and bobs. The connecting restaurant provides a b... Read more

We checked in for a 5 night stay and then received news of a family emergency and had to fly out that same day late at night. The staff were great and even offered to cancel the whole booking and refund, we were happy to pay for the part day we stayed and they happily refunded the rest and were keen to offer assistance. The room was great and we really appreciated the guest happy hour they have pre-dinner. The first place we would stay back in SF.

I stayed at this hotel while in San Francisco on a business trip. I picked it for its location and am glad I did. Apparently it has gone through several name changes because my cabbie did not know it until we pulled up outside and he 'oh, yeah, that used to be ---" It has a beautiful lobby. They have rotating art exhibits in the lobby. The staff was helpful and accomodating and were able to check me early. Apparently they have a happy hour in one of their gathering spaces, but I was not able... Read more

Amenity fee was a rip off; included a yoga and wellness kit which was only a Gaiam mat. Front desk person promised our room would be cleaned after 630 pm-never happened. Internet was difficult if not impossible to access in room. TV was poor with limited channels. Room phone still read as a Klimpton hotel(it's now a Joie de Voie). Best of hotel is its central location close to Union Square

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Choose a room with street view because the other option what they call inner court yard"is a little dark. Location of the hotel is excellent - 5 minutes from union square. room was specious, clean. very comfortable. they have complementary coffee etc near the lobby. For parking - use the one across from the hotel - near Jones st. it half price then the hotel and has in & out as much as you want. would defiantly stay there again!

This was our first stop on our honeymoon and we were really excited. At check in the man on reception was extremely unhelpful and we told him we were on honeymoon and had just come off a long haul flight. He offered to upgrade us, but for a high cost per night... We declined! Our hotel room was very small and not really any amenities, quite noisy too. It's in a great location if you want to be in the union square area of San Francisco. As the title suggests, it is an upscale hotel in San Francisco. The hotel has some great positives and a few negatives and some that are a positive and a negative at the same time. Confusing, i know, but I will get to that. Positives: The staff were very professional and courteous. The location is right down town and is easy access to everything. Good hotel in central location. Reception staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and clean. The nice touches - free lemon & lime water, free tea and coffee in the morning and complimentary magazines via a mobile app. Only negative and inconvenience - We didn't use the minibar, were advised no charges on check out but found we were charged for items when we returned home (over $100 worth). The charges were refunded after a couple of emails.

Service was wonderful. We were upgraded to a lovely junior suite. The neighborhood was not as nice as the 2 blocks closer to Union Square but felt safe. Enjoyed the free wine in the late afternoon and the restaurant was convenient as was a deli just down the block.

The service wasn't great but ok. The room was small but comfortable. If you get a nice rate, which is not easy in this town at all, I recommend this place as the location is great. There is a parking lot 2 minutes away from hotel that isn't hotel's but more reasonable than valet.

Having stayed at multiple hotels over a two week trip, the staff at the Marker were the ones that stood out among the rest. Hotel prices are insane in SF, higher than NY this time of year. That being said, I was looking for a nice hotel in Union Square, and for the price, The Marker was great! Very clean, funky rooms, in a smaller, service oriented property. My room was beautiful! A little smaller than your typical room, but very adequate. A very nice hotel located in the western part of the Union Square area. When you walk in, the check in area is located to the right near the door. The desk attendant was business-like and friendly. The room is nice, a little small., but clean. The bed was comfortable. One bone to pick was that the cable was very basic. No premium channels, like HBO. If I were staying longer, I'd be totally pissed. I'd stay here again for another overnight trip.

It's the end of a 3 week holiday and we stayed at the Marker Hotel for 3 nights. Fantastic room and decor. Comfortable bed. Large bathroom that had good water pressure and was really nice and clean. Very welcoming staff and a great place to stay whilst exploring San Fransisco. The restaurant was really nice and they had a happy hour weekdays from 3-6pm. Friendly staff everywhere. Comfortably lobby with coffee for guests in the mornings and a wine hour of an evening. Lovely modern hotel.

My sister and I travelled to San Francisco and stayed 2 nights at the Marker Hotel. The entrance area was very colourful and inviting. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was nice, except for our view, that was just above the roof of the neighbouring building. We didn't have breakfast included. The location of the Hotel is great, Powell Station and Union Square are reachable by foot in a few minutes.

The Marker is ideally located, a few blocks from Union Square, and the service staff (especially Kyle Levinger at the front desk) and housekeepers were all friendly and attentive to our needs. Strongly recommended!

Found this to be nice hotel, just along from Union Square. Was ideally located for us. The room was very clean and well appointed. The tea and coffee facilities supplied in the lounge just off reception for breakfast, was always stocked and pleasant. As we first arrived at the hotel, from Union Sq direction, was nice and clean in a safe area. Unfortunately we went for a walk (0900ish) on the Sunday morning around the block, didn't realise previously that it was on the edge of the Tenderloin area!... Read more

The hotel is within easy walking distance to everywhere you'll want to go. It's near Union Square and Powell Station, the BART stop we took to get in from the airport (and later used for the subway). We loved that we were able to rent bikes for free to see the city and the best part was probably Wine O'Clock from 5-6pm with unlimited red and white wines. The rooms were clean and had really cool decor which set it apart from a lot of other hotels. The price was about the same as other hotels in t... Read more

We loved our stay at The Marker! The location is great, rooms are beautiful and the staff are so helpful. Eddie at the front desk was amazing. He gave us so many great recommendations for places to go, bars, restaurants and sights to see and really ensured we had an amazing stay.

This hotel is under new management and is trying its hardest to succeed in a competitive market. The staff are really helpful, friendly and always willing to advise and solve problems. They have coffee available in the morning and a wine hour in the evening. The rooms are clean, quirky (but nicely), well appointed with very comfortable beds and good sound proofing. A good place to base yourself in SF.

Very much enjoyed the character and charm of the hotel. It's location allowed us to be near the main downtown attractions. We definitely recommend the hotel to those who want to experience the culture of the city.

This place is a nice to place to stay if you want to be by the shops in the middle of everything. I heard some noises of people hollering and cars honking at night but I was still able to sleep ok. The gym had enough equipment to get the job done. Coffee and tea was nice.

The Marker is a comfortable hotel in a convenient location. The staff is helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed wine hour and took advantage of the tea and coffee served in the living room each morning. The fireplaces and comfy seating were nice for the cool mornings and evenings.

We booked with Hotels Tonight a few days before our trip and were not disappointed. In the morning of our arrival we asked for a room on the highest floor and away from the elevator. We got exactly that. It was like a little studio apartment with a hallway leading into the living room with a couch and TV. There is a sliding door that leads into the bedroom and from there into the bathroom. We had no noise from the floor hallway or other rooms, and hardly any noise from the street. The only noise... Lovely hotel. Great staff. Room very comfortable and quiet. Close to Union Square and accessible transport. Bar was a lovely place to end up after busy day. Included breakfast was a little limited but you could pay extra - for extra.
