"Beautiful quiet location. We ate at the on-sight restaurant, and were a bit disappointed. The prices were ridiculous, the service stunk, the food so, so. There are some cute restaurants right down the street, or right down in Sausalito.
I must say though, the staff at front desk, the cleaning crew, were just wonderful. We will stay there again. Try to book a room that opens to the skydeck. It has couches chairs, and a full on fireplace."

"I have never written a review before, in over 50 years of traveling but I feel inclined to write one for this stay since it is the ONLY place we would actually ENJOY returning to ! The staff was friendly, the tavern, where we had dinner, was pricey but the food was exceptional and our eating experience with a well informed, and pleasant waiter was so enjoyable, we didn't mind paying the high price and we even happily paid a large tip to the waiter for his 'spot on' suggestions as to the wine choices as well as recomendations about the menu items. It was close to our final destination at the Royal Norwegian Consulate to obtain a new norwegian passport for my wife; only a twenty six minute drive from the lodge at Tiburon and we had a very pleasant stay, without the hustle and bustle traffic of San Francisco. The parking was FREE which is unusual in the San Francisco area, as well as being convenient to each room at the lodge. The rooms were lovely, with pleasant colors, and open access to the inner courtyard, which contained a blazing, cozy, fireplace in the evening, with pleasant seating around the fire, as well as nice landscaping, a pool and easy access to the breakfast and dinner eating area in the tavern. The Tiburon Lodge has a four star rating, (well deserved) very reasonable prices for the lodge itself and I noticed an excellent hotel rating for 2012 on a glassed in award on one of the walls in the tavern. We had to agree !"

"We went to Tiburon just for a few days to relax. The Lodge had everything I was looking for. An ordinary but lovely room, very comfortable bed, and a nice location to stroll around.
They are still undergoing renovations as some of the other reviewers mentioned but it never bothered us, and it looks like they are almost finished. Earplugs were provided in our room but we didnt need them.
My favorites about the Lodge are the super friendly staff, the beautiful grounds with many seating areas to just sit and chill, and the Tavern, a low-key comfortable (tho slightly pricey) restaurant/bar attached to the Lodge. We enjoyed happy hour there and breakfast. Our waiter was tops!! "

"Hotel was great. Only 20 minutes from Pier 39.
Was upgraded to a suite and the kids even had their own bathroom.
Bed was super comfortable, room was very clean and quite large.
The room had a seaside lake house feel to it.
Outdoor pool was warm. Only thing is there is not much in the area for restaurants that I could see and the restaurant was a bit pricey. Rooms have a fridge and microwave so could have your own breakfast in the room.
All in all would book there again if back in San Fran!"

"This is a nice little town to stay while visiting San Francisco - we happened to be traveling the week of the US Open so Hotels in SF were ridiculously priced, and most were booked solid. The Lodge is in a great location a half block from the Ferry, a view of the city and places to eat/drink. It's only about a 15 minute drive to the Golden Gate bridge. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms nice and clean and the outdoor fireplaces on the grounds were very nice in the chilly evening. The staff were all very polite and professional. My only complaint would be the breakfast was extremely overpriced for the quality and quantity (most items were ala carte). We spent $100 counting tip for four people to eat a so-so breakfast with 3 coffees as the only beverages besides water. I would stay there again - but I won't dine there again. There appear to be plenty of other dining options nearby."

"My husband and I were in town for a Photography Conference and had the wonderful opportunity to stay here for three consecutive nights, May 21-23, 2012. While it appeared that there were some renovations that may have been going on, there was no debris, and no noise to disturb us in any way. The lodge was super clean and well maintained, the surrounding grounds beautifully kept, and many seating areas were available near the pool and several outdoor fireplaces/pits. The staff was beyond amazing, being both friendly and accomodating beyond what was reasonable for our situation, and they are very eager to make sure you have the most enjoyable stay possible. If something is wrong, it's obvious that they want to try to fix it. We came to the area in a semi truck, pulling a 53' trailer and it was very difficult to maneuver through the narrow streets of Tiburon, including (and especially) trying to fit into their narrow parking lot. Rather than tell us, 'Sorry, you're on your own', three employees came out to move their personal vehicles so we would fit, and we even got a room upgrade! I have been in customer service for many years, and this was a fantastic example of employees going above and beyond to make a great experience out of a frustrating one for the customer (thought the frustration on our part had absolutely nothing to do with the Lodge). "While the Lodge is a great place to stay, allowances should be made for the inconveniences of the ongoing renovations . The noise was bothersome, and the debris in the halls messy. This should have been brought to the attention of booking agencies so that they could inform their guests beforehand. Luckily the bar was open while we were there and the bartender couldn't have been nicer."
