This was an appealing (not spectacular) Hyatt. The staff was nice and helpful. It is close to the piers and to shopping and restaurants. Drivers may get confused because surrounding intersections are often more than 4-way. It is a little inconvenient that lobby is upstairs and you can only enter in one place. It has a good gym but you must walk through the lobby and restaurant area to reach it (often through conference attendees). The hotel rooms were clean and you can get any forgotten it... Read more

I really liked being notified via text when our room was ready. This came in really handy when we had to plan our check-in time around our Alcatraz ferry departure. Aside from the fantastic room, the highlight of our stay at the Hyatt was being able to complete the check-out procedures on my phone. Because we were rushing to get to the airport, I really appreciated the fact that checkout could be done online without stopping at the front desk. The Hyatt facilities are great and the food is good though priced at airport prices. The customer service is about 5 out of 10, with staff not being very helpful and somewhat dismissive about half of the time, and with a bell boy by the Atrium level elevator who stares at you as though he is profiling you.

I am a Diamond member in the Hyatt Loyalty program and when I checked in late in the night, probably about midnight , I was greeted by a trainee at the Platinum/Diamond check in counter who hardly knew anything about anything. This is a fun, nice hotel. There is a large atrium so you can hear a lot from your room, but it still isn't too loud. The hotel is in a great location across from the ferry building. Check in was a little slow. A big hotel and only about 3 people to check you in so it took some time. The hotel lobby and restaurant/bar area is very nice.

I love the location of this hotel. I stayed in a bay view room & I couldn't get enough of it! You are right across from the Ferry building. Admittedly the food down here is not the best San Francisco has to offer, so foodies should go to another neighborhood for dinner. There are a few really good food carts in the financial district. However, the reason I am writing this lies with a rude man who works here. I had run across the street for lunch& brought it back to the lobby to eat. I had been ... Read more

The Hyatt Regency SF is in a great location and hotel itself has a stunning lobby. The rooms are decent, nothing spectacular, but our room was clean and ready early. The problem I have is with the staff. During my stay my laptop charger and phone chargers were removed from the room while my husband and I were out sightseeing. A very modern hotel with a a square based pyramid design. Rooms are of a good size and we enjoyed the view over the water. There is some street noise, but it we did not find it instrusive and the rooms have earplugs and a homemedics natural sound timer to block out any noise. Unable to comment on the food as we ate out each night, but there is a choice of restaurants and a large bar area. A good choice for business or tourists.

Let me preface this review by saying the hotel's location is 5 stars, but the service is disorganized compared to the Grand Hyatt a few blocks away, and the organization of the rooms is quite dated. When I checked in they did not welcome me as a Diamond member. In fact despite correctly giving me my Diamond points on the stay, they completely tripped up this whole experience including: failing to provide the room I reserved, not providing access to the club lounge, not asking me about a late che... It is one block from the waterfront (Ferry Building) and many forms of transportation are right outside including BART (subway) station, light rail trains, buses and t... Read more

We were in town to see a baseball game and this property was an easy walk along the water to the field. It was also close to the cable car line and the embarcadero. The rooms were very nice and lobby had a nice bar to sit in. Valet parking was very expensive..... $56. But we parked at a public garage just up the street for half that. I highly recommend this property.

High class hotel, great location right next to Embarcadero, close proximity to fine dining and city attractions. Very comfortable and clean beds, clean room, but if the room is not cleaned in the morning - might need to remind staff to clean it :)

We have begun to fly in for visits...no car...and the location is wonderful! The hotel is very nice, great rooms and my wife and I are convinced they have the most comfortable beds...king size. The service was good, and of course the reason is the location. Ferry building as your shopping center, at the hub of numerous forms of public transport, it's about perfect. We used the ferry, road the cable cars, the cute retro street cars are wonderful. Buy the three day transportation pass and you are ... Read more

If you are looking for a breakfast buffet or a fancy restaurant on premises, then this is not for you. On the other hand if you want to be able to walk to just about everything, this can not be beat. You are across the street from the ferry building and within walking distance ( it took us an 1/2 hr. - probably due to age LOL) to walk to the fisherman's wharf. The street car ride back was $1 and included a transfer good for a couple of hours. We definitely will return. Location, location, loc... Read more

Outstanding property! This hotel exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely stay here again in our future. The breakfast was one of our best meals and the service was equally outstanding. We are members of the Hyatt awards and they upgraded our room for us as well as meeting our room preferences.

I came here to attend the ATA's 57th annual conference. However, I couldn't afford to stay at this hotel despite its modern decor, so I had to look for cheaper ones in Union Square which is a few minutes away.

It was close to the water, which we love. The atrium was beautiful. The food was really good. They had a quick take out style cafe that was good enough too. The bathtub in our room didn't drain, & you have to stand in dirty water. That's prob my only complaint.

Great Hyatt property. Club level floors are wonderful. Great service in Regency Club. Only downside is that it is a large conference hotel. Staff makes special efforts. Convenient to shopping, business district, great restaurants and transportation.

The hotel is very clean and welcoming! The inside Lobby is a little artsy farts! But it does look nice and is very open! The building is triangular in shape! They have a great list of items they offer complimentary if you ask! Our room is good sized. We had a nice city view of the Bay Bridge! The hotel is close to lots of restaurants and the Ferry Building! A short walk Union Square. I loved being able to walk across the street to the Ferry Building to catch a Ferry over to Sausalito!

This was my 2nd stay with the last being back in 2010. I thought the hotel may have deteriorated within that time but no it was just as lovely. The rooms are really quite large and I like that they have a separate entrance area. We had a King Room with a view and it was a fab view over the Bay. The service here in all areas is prompt and they are extremely courteous. It's 1974. Three recent WEHS graduates travel from NJ to CA (San Francisco, LA, and Las Vegas) for 10 days. Treated really well by all of the staff especially during meals, I specifically recall one waiter making us feel so special by serving our sparkling water in a champagne bucket. Flash forward in time and while I don't visit SF very often, I still visit this Hyatt Regency every time I'm in town. We arrived a few hours before check-in, travel weary and not even thinking about the fact that our room may not be ready. Tashi at the front desk was very kind and offered to check us in right away but apologized that as early as we were, there was only a lower floor room ready. If we wanted to check our bags in and go get lunch, he would call us once a higher floor room was available. We left our bags with the bell hop and walked to the Ferry Building and had a lovely lunch, and then got a call... Read more

This is a large triangular building. Slow check-in. It has the ugliest carpets I have ever seen. There was some kind of beetle crawling around. The room I had on Market Street was very noisy. The trams start up at five in the morning. The rooms facing the water are probably quieter. They spam you to death after you leave, even if you unsubscribe several times. The decor looks 30 years out of date. Overpriced in every respect. Go somewhere else.

This a very well located hotel. Most attractions in San Francisco are within walking distance or easily accessible by public transportation. The hotel is a bit dated, but it offers everything a traveler can possibly want/need. The level of service is simply outstanding. In addition to a good coffee maker and a fridge in the room, I asked for access to a microwave oven; they sent one to my room in less than 15 minutes!

Fantastic rooms with lovely rooms we were on 5th floor. All room doors open onto beautiful atrium with subtle lighting which continuously changes. Also in the atrium were some eateries which we didn't use as they were quite expensive. The hotel is within easy walking distance of a lot of the sights of San Francisco and just a few yards away you can get on a streetcar or 1 of the trams going up the hill.

Our stay was going great until we tried to order room service. I've attached a pic of their room service menu for breakfast. It is LAUGHABLE. They do have a restaurant in the lobby which has a great breakfast menu...but they will NOT DELIVER IT TO YOUR ROOM. I called and asked just to make sure. What?! I've traveled extensively and have NEVER had this happen. I'm not sure why this particular hotel has taken this path, but they just lost a customer.
