This was an appealing (not spectacular) Hyatt. The staff was nice and helpful. It is close to the piers and to shopping and restaurants. Drivers may get confused because surrounding intersections are often more than 4-way. It is a little inconvenient that lobby is upstairs and you can only enter in one place. It has a good gym but you must walk through the lobby and restaurant area to reach it (often through conference attendees). The hotel rooms were clean and you can get any forgotten it... Read more

I really liked being notified via text when our room was ready. This came in really handy when we had to plan our check-in time around our Alcatraz ferry departure. Aside from the fantastic room, the highlight of our stay at the Hyatt was being able to complete the check-out procedures on my phone. Because we were rushing to get to the airport, I really appreciated the fact that checkout could be done online without stopping at the front desk. Rooms - This is an old hotel but it's been renovated many times over and kept relevant. Rooms are good-sized and well-appointed. We got an excellent view of the Bay Bridge and neighboring buildings. Location - Very accessible via Bart and Muni or even with a walk from the Embarcadero area. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants, attractions, and points of interest. The Hyatt facilities are great and the food is good though priced at airport prices. The customer service is about 5 out of 10, with staff not being very helpful and somewhat dismissive about half of the time, and with a bell boy by the Atrium level elevator who stares at you as though he is profiling you.

I travel to San Francisco regularly for work and prefer to stay at Hyatt properties in the area. I do not get this hotel most times because its too expensive for my budget.. But this one week, where I got some good rates, I did make a reservation and end up staying. I am a Diamond member in the Hyatt Loyalty program and when I checked in late in the night, probably about midnight , I was greeted by a trainee at the Platinum/Diamond check in counter who hardly knew anything about anything. Very good hotel. Wonderful atrium. Music is loud. Dining room and room good but pricey. Have to pay extra for view/balcony. Staff pleasant and helpful except concierge services. Well positioned for all "tourist" attractions.

This is a fun, nice hotel. There is a large atrium so you can hear a lot from your room, but it still isn't too loud. The hotel is in a great location across from the ferry building. Check in was a little slow. A big hotel and only about 3 people to check you in so it took some time. The hotel lobby and restaurant/bar area is very nice.

I love the location of this hotel. I stayed in a bay view room & I couldn't get enough of it! You are right across from the Ferry building. Admittedly the food down here is not the best San Francisco has to offer, so foodies should go to another neighborhood for dinner. There are a few really good food carts in the financial district. However, the reason I am writing this lies with a rude man who works here. I had run across the street for lunch& brought it back to the lobby to eat. I had been ... Read more

The Hyatt Regency SF is in a great location and hotel itself has a stunning lobby. The rooms are decent, nothing spectacular, but our room was clean and ready early. The problem I have is with the staff. During my stay my laptop charger and phone chargers were removed from the room while my husband and I were out sightseeing. I contacted the front desk and was told that the previous guests said they left a phone charger so the cleaning staff entered our room and took our chargers...all of them... Read more

Good Choice for a San Francisco visit. Pros: great location, amazing views, spotless, good-sized rooms Cons: bad bar, mediocre food for the price I'd come back here, but not if I was trying to impress someone. Definitely not trendy or boutique.

A very modern hotel with a a square based pyramid design. Rooms are of a good size and we enjoyed the view over the water. There is some street noise, but it we did not find it instrusive and the rooms have earplugs and a homemedics natural sound timer to block out any noise. Unable to comment on the food as we ate out each night, but there is a choice of restaurants and a large bar area. A good choice for business or tourists.

Let me preface this review by saying the hotel's location is 5 stars, but the service is disorganized compared to the Grand Hyatt a few blocks away, and the organization of the rooms is quite dated. When I checked in they did not welcome me as a Diamond member. In fact despite correctly giving me my Diamond points on the stay, they completely tripped up this whole experience including: failing to provide the room I reserved, not providing access to the club lounge, not asking me about a late che... We stayed here for our anniversary celebration. It was absolutely perfect. We had a bay view room with a terrace. Super quiet room - we are light sleepers so this is important. Lovely windows all along one wall, opening to the terrace with fantastic views. Lobby/atrium are stunning. Embarcadero Center is a great location for shopping and dining. Great service. Friendly staff. Can't wait to go back.

this hotel was the jewel of the city at one time.. now it is old and just over priced for the condition it is in. the lobby was dirty. the elevators smelled and the room was out dated. the drain was slow and the room smelled like trash. i have stayed here many times.. too bad it has gone down hill so much

We had three nights in San Fran for our first visit and opted to be in this location. Turned out to be perfect. Checked in and got room 618 with a direct view out to the bay and the bay bridge. Couldn't have been better. Decent room and everything worked. Enough space for two of us and our suitcases and never felt cramped. Comfy bed though that is always subjective. Nice and clean and comfy. Location is a winner. Away from the madding crowds of the wharf etc but a lovely walk there along the E... Read more
