This was an appealing (not spectacular) Hyatt. The staff was nice and helpful. It is close to the piers and to shopping and restaurants. Drivers may get confused because surrounding intersections are often more than 4-way. It is a little inconvenient that lobby is upstairs and you can only enter in one place. It has a good gym but you must walk through the lobby and restaurant area to reach it (often through conference attendees). The hotel rooms were clean and you can get any forgotten it... Read more

I really liked being notified via text when our room was ready. This came in really handy when we had to plan our check-in time around our Alcatraz ferry departure. Aside from the fantastic room, the highlight of our stay at the Hyatt was being able to complete the check-out procedures on my phone. Because we were rushing to get to the airport, I really appreciated the fact that checkout could be done online without stopping at the front desk. The valet service was impeccable and our car was ... Read more

Rooms - This is an old hotel but it's been renovated many times over and kept relevant. Rooms are good-sized and well-appointed. We got an excellent view of the Bay Bridge and neighboring buildings. Location - Very accessible via Bart and Muni or even with a walk from the Embarcadero area. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants, attractions, and points of interest. Really recommended to get the downtown San Francisco experience. Others - We were upgraded to a higher floor and given credit ... Read more

Excellent location near Union Square off Market Street- easy to get to BART or to get an Uber ride- unfortunately the night I stayed there we were evacuated from the hotel at 230am due to a pipe rupture and it was VERY stressful

Right across from the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero, the Hyatt Regency makes enjoying the heart of the great city easy. It's got a funky style, but it puts you in the center of the action. Easily accessible from the airport on BART, it's also close to street cars. No need for cab or Uber!

Steps away from the waterfront and a nice scenic walk away from Pier 39, this was an all-around wonderful place to stay. The atrium area is stunning, the staff were great, my room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. No complaints whatsoever.

The Hyatt facilities are great and the food is good though priced at airport prices. The customer service is about 5 out of 10, with staff not being very helpful and somewhat dismissive about half of the time, and with a bell boy by the Atrium level elevator who stares at you as though he is profiling you.

I stayed here for a week on a work trip, and really enjoyed it. The location is fantastic, right by the Embarcadero Center with loads of cool restaurants, artists tents, and all of the piers along the bay nearby. I got up every morning to run along the Embarcadero, which was spectacular, and checked out different restaurants along the bay, which are an easy walk from the hotel. But the hotel restaurant was really good too, they had the best truffle fried I've ever had. All of the staff were frie... Read more

Walgreens,Starbucks and Subways right outside the door.We had a room with two queen beds and a bay view.It was a bit noisy since gay pride parade was in town ( great fun by the way) but all music ended at ten o'clock so that was fine. Portman designed hotels are for me always a great break from the cloistered feeling one gets from a glass shrouded modern hi rise. The slanting of the building even makes the terraces private not stacked one over the next. The Hyatt Embarcadero delivers. A roomy junior suite with a large balcony with a harbor and Bay Bridge view was airy and open. sitting on the terrace absorbing the light San Francisco air mad the stay. Excellent hotel in prime location with the most stunning atrium lobby you will ever see. Across the street from the ferry building, breath taking views from my room of the bay and the bridge. Lovely big room but the bath tub is rather small. This hotel was recommended to us by friends that had recently booked a stay. Glad we took their advice ! Hotel has great ambiance. Room had a fabulous view of the Port of SF, and it was a standard room, no upgrade ! Room was clean, comfortable, low noise level, slept great ! Easy and convenient to all forms of public transportation and walkable to lots of sights too, if you like to walk ! I would highly recommend.

This was a " surprise" late Father's Day gift for my husband, as he has no idea we are going to spend the night here after we had the Cruise at Pier 3. I requested an early check in when I was making the reservations as I knew my hubby will be tired, but we did not get it. So we just wandered for more than 2 hrs until the 4 p.m. check in time. Stayed here for one night (on business) in June 2016. Loved the location--in Embarcadero Center, close to many restaurants and shops; right next to a MUNI and BART stop; highway access not bad; across the street from the Ferry Building, with its charming mix of food vendors and restaurants. The architecture of the building is legendary and very cool, with the sloping atrium, concrete construction, cool patterned floor tiles, etc. The architecture could feel dated, but the way that they have b... Stayed at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco for an overnight business trip. This is a beautieneful modern hotel just off highway 680 the main freeway to San Francisco. We booked this hotel based on location as I needed to be in Sf for a number of reasons, one was to take a teacher exam at the nearby testing center. The room was ok, we paid $250. plus taxes etc. for the night so at that price you would expect a bit more. The mini-fridge was not clean ebore our arrival and so there were past guest food rotting in there and the temp was turned way down, so very gross!

The balcony was the best and also worst part of this room. It looked out onto the SF Bay, which was very impressive especially considering the great weather we were having. Unfortunately the balcony was full of bird droppings and it looked like the chairs had not been wiped down in some time. Shame as it was the best part of the room. This grand hotel with reportedly the biggest atrium in the world is a fine example of brutalist architecture, which works on a human scale to make a very luxurious venue. I was attending a conference in the hotel so benefited from a discounted rate. Large and very comfortable rooms, plenty of storage space, and the only slight quibbles would be that the bathrooms were very small and that there was music playing in the atrium from quite early in the mornings. We chose the Hyatt Regency for a getaway weekend in San Francisco in large part because of its proximity to the Ferry Building. We left the car at home and took the ferry to the city. The Hyatt is right across the street and couldn't be more convenient. Parking is very expensive here (and at most city hotels), so taking transit is a good idea.
