These people could not do more, spotless, tidy and nice rooms very good and especially good value for money. Free tea, coffee a fridge for water and bathroom essentials, large TV in room, toiletries and a huge shower. I would highly recommend this hotel to any one (they are updating at the moment so the gym was out but at such little evidence of the update you wouldn't know work was going on) we certainly didn't hear anything at all. The hotel has historical significance, as the site for the Hitchcock movie vertigo. The accommodations are overpriced for the quality you get. The shower button did not work. There was some allergen that made me sneeze all night. You can hear noise from adjacent rooms. There is no air-conditioning and the windows cannot be opened. The fitness center was under construction and so they gave us free access to a 24-hour fitness center about six blocks away.

the Hotel where the famous Hitchcock film was filmed. On arriving, friendly staff at check in. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a fridge with water and juice and snacks. Tea and coffee facilities are provided. In the morning reception provide coffee only and does not have provisions for breakfast. However, there are plenty of good diners in the vicinity. Take the elevator or stairs to the top of the hotel and look down the stairs and take a photo- it's a fantastic shot.

Seems a big bio medic conference on in San Fransisco this week. So paying way to much to stay in this faded hotel. Queen bedded room is actually a double bed. View from opening window(a plus) is the construction happening in the first level. For $500AUD a night not value for money.

Great location as a base in the lower nob hill neighborhood. The hotel starred in an alfred hitchcock movie (perhaps his best ever) and that gives it a sense of history. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and updated. We had a top floor street facing room and it was so quiet. Great stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

We arrived and found a sign that said 45$ for valet but no valet on sight . When I asked where the valet was , I was told that in case I decided to valet , they have to call someone to go park the car . I thought 45$ per night was a bit too much , so asked if there was a parking near by ? And was told that there was one for 25 $ about 100 feet from the hotel. Of course every parking was sold out and full due to the very busy Gay pride weekend festivities . Then went in to do the checking , very ... Read more

My first time in San Francisco, I was very happy with this choice of accommodation! The hotel has a 'boutique' feel, with good character. The rooms were a good size, our room had 2 (very comfy) double beds, and still had ample space to move around. The room and bathroom were clean and in good condition. Appear just as expected, as per images provided on the website. The hotel was being renovated when we stayed (Jan 2016), so we did not have access to the gym. I am unsure what the status of these... We found Hotel Vertigo via and thought "okay, good price and looks nice." The beds were very uncomfortable, the orange all over gets to be too much. Our room was very hot and there was no good way to cool it down. The desk staff seemed helpful although, when we asked for directions about where to park instead of valet ($45 a night) they gave us directions to a place that said no and we ended up haggling with another near by garage. Do stop into Cup-a-Joe for coffee down the block!

I found the room very nice-decor was contemporary enough- iPhone docking station was a bit dated since it was made for the 4 but aside from that, lovely. Good size for 1 person or 2 if you plan on being out and about. Clean and quiet, I also found this hotel nice to return to after a long day. My son and I stayed one night. He is an exhausted high-school freshman, and I'm an exhausted teacher. So we pretty much slept the whole time we were here. The room is pretty, and the Hitchcock theme is understated, for those people who aren't film buffs. The windows have two layers.
