Stayed here for 3 nights. The Hotel is located in a great spot, clean and very cheerful. All of the employees are very friendly and helpful. For us Shaneika made our stay so wonderful. She helped as soon as we came in late on a Friday, and helped us find a place that would deliver food and she set us up in a great room. Could not have asked for more.

This hotel was great - a good location, nice staff, and clean rooms with comfortable bedding. It is a boutique hotel - meaning a little quirky - but in a good way. The french Caffe Presse next door is perfect for breakfast and a night cap - although they don't open until 8am. I rated this hotel 4 stars only because of the internet - it is very slow. I needed to upload some files for work one morning - so I tried to purchase the higher speed internet - but I think because I had already signed... Read more

Stayed here when touring in US during May. Excellent location close to Union Square and at edge of Chinatown. Staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel is an older boutique type hotel and the décor is somewhat old style as opposed to modern. The room was comfortable although the double bed was somewhat small compared with most American bed sizes. There is not a restaurant in this hotel although there is a restaurant adjoining which has a link up with the hotel. This means you need to go out... Read more

Hotel Triton was so-so. It's in a good location (Union Square, right outside China Town), and the place had an interesting vibe/design aesthetic, but there were a few issues. The bed was a little small for two (it's a full) and wasn't particularly comfortable. The hotel is also right by an alley, and my wife and I both woke up in the middle of the night due to noise from a trash crew coming through and emptying dumpsters (one was recycling, so the bottles made a ton of noise). With that said... Read more

Not sure how long it has been this way but since I arrived two days ago there has been no wifi. It is "getting fixed". That just ruins it for you. Also there is some weird smell on floor 7 corridor and some of it comes inside the room as well. But overall it was ok. Nice bright ambience. Bold colors and good room features and location is prime.

Check in staff was welcoming and accommodating. Location is fantastic near edge of Chinatown and short walk to union square. Rooms are updated look over old framing - have all the stuff you expect but nothing "extra". Thin windows and location can mean a lot of street noise depending on night and what's happening. I was in room 319 near corner (pics below are views in and from that room) and it was trash night so I was woken up and had to listen to the sound of dumpsters being lifted dumped and... Read more

Stayed here in November 2013 and really enjoyed it. The hotel was nice even though the room was a bit on the small side and the air condition was placed next to the bed which was a bit inconvenient. But I loved the room decor and the staff was very nice. The hotel is next door to Chinatown (could see the gate from my hotel window) and close to a lot of shopping. Would definitely return again if the price is right.

Spent the weekend in San Francisco at the Hotel Triton and found it to be the perfect location. Just across from the Chinatown Gate, walking distance to BART and Mission St transportation, as well as to Embarcadero, the Wharf, and Union Square. Very central! I liked the hotel decor and the location. The staff wasn't friendly at all. The toilet started spewing water from the tank after one flush. We added a beer package to our reservation that included a bucket of beer, two glasses, a magazine on beer, and some snacks. When we asked for it to be delivered to our room, they had just put the THREE beers on ice, so they were warm. They put the magazine under the bucket filled with ice which soaked the magazine. We didn't end up drinking them since... Read more

This hotel was a poor experience from the outset. No one was available to take the car at valet upon arrival (which ultimately cost $58 for the night and I had to then wait 30 mins to get the car next day); there was trash in the hallway, stained carpeting in the halls and room, stained plastic shower, fuzzy television reception, inconsistent wifi, and shocked to still see window air conditioning units.

Fantastically located at Chinese Gate within easy walking distance to piers, Union Square & Financial District. The room was very clean and comfortable.
