Restaurants, Lounges & Bars

Cafe Majestic
The romantic Cafe Majestic is located inside The Hotel Majestic and for dinner, it serves Contemporary Italian cuisine and a Chef special International Menu. Chef Efrain Garcia has recreated some classic dishes and added some fantastic new flavors. With the goal of serving colorful and flavorful food, Cafe Majestic has kept unchanged some of the neighborhoods most popular dishes such as: Veal Scaloppini, Eggplant and Chicken Parmesan, Fillet of Sole, Beef Wellington, Bacon wrapped Scallops, and Vegetable Lasagna. In recognition of foreign patrons, last summer, Chef created a separate International Menu, which was inspired to offer choices of international comfort foods.  Originally, this menu was only intended to be served in the summer time, but due its popularity from our hotel guests and our neighbors, Chef has kept this menu as an option year-round. This menu includes dishes German Wiener-schnitzel, Spanish Seafood Paella, Indian Lamb Curry, and Californian Hamburger Steak.

What the street map of SF does not reveal is that the Majestic is located high up on a uphill street, a location that adds to the elevated atmosphere of the hotel. Once a grand residence, the building has kept many of the luxurious interior details, from the splendour of the breakfast hall right down to the golden taps in your bathroom. And it really is a bit out of the ordinary to get a bed that would not have been out of place in a royal palace, complete with a canopy and all. The service and... Read more

This place is very nice. It is probably 100 years old. When I arrived, I was surprised at how luxe it was because I got it for only $136/night (Wednesday & Thursday in March.) I could have gotten it for $117/night if I was willing to go non-refundable. I stayed here by myself as I was on a trip following my favorite band around. This place is not exactly in the center of everything, but it's close enough. It is in a nice neighborhood. There is a bus stop directly in front of the front doo... Read more

Delightful exterior, beautiful restaurant, lovely room. Not a great location but ok. Cable cars are a very long 11 blocks away. Old so had some quirks but still very pretty. Parking is $35 night. Bizarre elevator.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the start of our fly drive holiday (before collecting our car). All staff were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is quaint and grand (as the name suggests) without being posh or stuffy. The restaurant was good too, and reasonably priced. They have dinner specials too - which are worth checking out. We had dinner here on the evening we arrived, and breakfast one morning. We had a Junior Suite and it was perfect for our family of 3 (3 year old son). A four pos... Read more

My sister and I spend a long weekend in San Francisco with The Majestic as our home base. This is a quaint hotel decorated nicely in the Victorian style. The room we had was pretty small but was appointed very nicely with a four poster bed and antique wardrobe. The bath was roomy and offered plenty of space for two women to share. The hotel staff were all very helpful and answered any questions quickly and courteously. The hotel lounge is a great place to relax after a busy day of touring th... Read more
