This is a great location. We stayed here the last night that we were in San Francisco. the fisherman's wharf was right outside of the window. We were in walking distance of a lot of stuff to do. Only complaint was there is a musty smell in the room carpets might've need to be cleaned. Otherwise no complaints

This hotel is located in a very good place walkable from the Pier 39 and 41 in Fisherman's warf. Rooms were quite spacious and neat. Hotel staffs were courteous and helpful. There are good number of restaturants near to the hotels as well. Though my stay was sponsored by my company but still I found it to be a bit costly.

Hi hate to give this hotel only a 2 star rating, because the room was fine, people nice, but I didn't sleep for 2 nights because of it's location. Even with ear plugs, a sound machine, and a pillow over my head, the street noise kept me awake. Everything else about the hotel was just fine. To get back and forth to the airport, I recommend Ver Limousine. 415-531-8858. It's less expensive than a taxi, and way, way nicer.

Great location. Our family with small children was able to walk to many attractions. Concierge was very helpful on check out day, facilitated car service to the airport. Pool area was fine for kids, wish pool was heated or maybe offered a hot tub. Room was clean and quiet. We stayed in the newer building, not the main building.

The hotel furnishings are outdated but I actually had a fantastic stay here! Normally I stay in luxury 5 star hotels but this place was really great value for money! The room was warm, had HBO, bed was comfortable, ear plugs were provided if required, desktop and printer. Room service was fast and room was clean. I couldn't hear too much on level 5. Only recommendation would be to have better quality slippers provided as they were like paper. Great location!

The location is perfect. We walked everywhere from here. The only transportation we used were the ferry to Alcatraz and the tour bus to Muir Woods. The hotel was clean and the rooms were properly priced. The restaurant was over priced for what they were serving, so we ate elsewhere.

The hotel rooms were large and well equipped and perfectly clean. It was well located just a short walk from the Wharf and all the bars and restaurants. We could also just about see Alcatraz from our room. The big problem with the hotel seems to the lack of double-glazing or suitable sound-proofing. We could hear a lot of noise from the road, from the bin areas and just about everything else in the neighbourhood. It honestly sounded like the windows were open! The hotel did provide ear plu... Nice place to stay. Simple & clean like all Holiday Inns. One thing to remember when booking is that you're charged $45p/day+tax on top of your room charge. Unfortunately there's no other parking option. It appears that if you book through bookings.com that customer service drops instantly. All good otherwise ū???

We needed a convenient location to all of the touristy hot spots of San Francisco, as we were traveling with my 60-year old mother who didn't want to walk very far to attractions. Pros: EXCELLENT location - easy walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, the Hop On/Off buses pick up only a block away. Perfect for getting around the city. BIG rooms - we had a room with 2 queen beds - I didn't expect the room to be so big, being that we were in the middle of a downtown area, but ... Read more

My husband and I wanted to stay in a modern hotel on the wharf for two nights and this fit the bill. The staff was great, the room was large with a comfortable king size bed. Many breakfast choices included pancakes, biscuits and gravy, cereals, fruit ‚?? in a roomy area. Valet parking was $50 a night, but worth it by not trying to park somewhere off site. Cost was about what we expected for the location, but well worth it.

The reason everyone chooses to stay here is the location. It's a holiday inn, not a luxury 5 star resort. However, our rooms were clean and comfortable and we could walk everywhere- that's all you really want in SF. It's expensive, but so are all the other hotels in that area. We did t eat there, there's local breakfast cafes right across then street and plenty of lunch/dinner places at the warf. Overall, a great place to stay in SF.

We visited Fisherman's Wharf more than once for the delicious seafood on offer there. The clam chowder is a real signature dish here. Clean and tidy rooms.

Great hotel, typical of HI quality. The location is great for a first time in SF- close to the touristy areas and not far from the bar scene in North Beach either. Easy walkibg distance. Staff were very helpful and recommended good beer and food spots not far away. There's two buildings, so you could be in a different spot to the reception, but it's not far. Rooms are big, clean and comfy and wifi is free and fast. Denny's downstairs for breaky is pricey, but so is everything in SF!

Fantastic location, within a 5 minute walk from Fishermans wharf. Rooms and hotel looked a little "tired" or perhaps "well used " is the term to use. However the rooms were clean and beds were comfy. The hotel corridors could do with some tlc. It was adequate for what we needed as we aren't in the hotel much as to busy out sightseeing. We found the location of the hotel to be very convenient, and we were able to visit places within walking distance, or easily using the trams/cable cars. We recently had an opportunity to visit this beautiful city and decided to stay at the Holiday Inn by the Fisherman's Wharf. We did not have reservations prior to our arrival and somehow they were able to find us four rooms. The Personnel were extremely courteous and friendly. The two stars are only for location. The management is very unfriendly, everything they have is cheap junk - from the flimsly paper plates at breakfast to the tissues and tp. Do not book on Hotwire or Hotel.com - We did and got a "special" room. They brought in a very uncofortable rollaway that took up the whole small room. Very small bathrooms as well. Comfortable room for family of four, coffee making facilities. Quiet clean. Reception, breakfast and concierge staff friendly and helpful, bar staff not so happy. Breakfast lovely but pricey if not part of your hotel booking. Pool clean, small but good for a cool off and lots of sun beds available. Lots of cheap alternatives to eat nearby. Easy walking distance to pier 39- approx 10 minutes. Places nearby to hire bikes to get to Golden Gate Bridge. Would happily stay there again.

This Hotel gives you exactly what you expect from a Holiday inn. It is clean, efficient and by the book. The location is excellent to visit Fisherman's wharf, the squiggly street, Alcatraz and a bike ride from the Golden state bridge. The hotel is old, looks it's age but is very well maintained. However, this is where it stops. It is not a cheap room to book and the parking is very expensive. We found a parking lot in the back that was a bit cheaper and very close. We stayed for five nights at the Holiday Inn Fishermans Wharf as part of a longer trip to California. Firstly, the location. Great for Fishermans Wharf, which is commercialised but a must see I guess. However, we were in the Wharf Building (there are 2 hotel buildings in case you were unaware). We backed onto a road that was busy pretty much 24/7 and on one morning there was a picket line with a loudspeaker protesting outside the Hyatt. It also has several public transport options almost at the door, so is an ideal base to explore further afield. The staff are very friendly and relaxed and eager to help out with any thing required , in my case it was conforming a shuttle pick up. Stopped here for one night on rewards points $70 for the night so cannot grumble at the price. Check in was fine and we were allocated a room on the 4th floor which just looked out at a brick wall, so no view at all. The curtains did not close as they were false curtains and the only blackout we had was from the net curtains, not ideal as we wanted a little daytime darkness to catch up on some sleep after a longhaul flight. A nice hotel 1 minute's walk to Fisherman's wharf. The hotel is comfortable and clean. The location is very convenient for walking to the main attractions. The front desk wasn't as friendly as you'd expect but mechanical with respect to checking in. Parking is $57 (USD) per day. There are some nice places to eat close by also. If you're looking for a comfortable & central place this is a great hotel. It is also on the more expensive side of the spectrum.

Best location to Fishermans Warf. Rooms are a little old and it's very pricey but worth it for the location. $50 bucks a night to park though after already paying $450 a night. Arrived in San Francisco from Vegas and after the luxury of our Vegas hotel, we were a little disappointed with the Holiday Inn as the rooms were small and quite dark. Nevertheless, the location is great and not too far from all the restaurants on the Wharf and also the ferry port for Alcatraz. Breakfast was included, but it is overcrowded and difficult to get a table. Breakfast is quite basic but ok.

The location was perfect, close to Fishermans Wharf, and also a couple of the cable car lines. The hotel was OK but not particularly special, and also a bit expensive, probably due to the great location. Breakfast was also quite expensive. The location of the hotel is good however it is pretty basic when compared to other hotels on our recent California road trip. Personally I wasn't a fan of Fisherman's Wharf so that probably doesn't help the hotels review too much. Great location, a few blocks from Fishermans' Wharf, very friendly staff. They were quick, friendly and willing to always help. We paid for the Superior room (King bed, microwave, fridge, robes) and it was worth it. The Only complaint I have is when we first arrived to check in. The staff member was very friendly and he was trying to help by giving us a room away from traffic (quiet room as he said). But it was in teh other building across the street. So we walked there, went into the room... Read more

We stayed here in fall of 2015 on our 35th anniversary trip.. Although the price is very expensive, it is in line with the other hotels in the area. The rooms are very clean and the hotel is right in the middle of all the action on Fisherman's warf and steps from the awesome trolley cars. We would stay here again. The hotel also offered parking of course for an additional fee, but well worth it.

We stayed at this Holiday Inn on 10-12-16. The location is excellent!!! This hotel is a little pricy but I'm sure falls in line with the San Fransisco rates. Parking was pricy also but so was everywhere else we researched. We would definitely stay here again! Clean rooms, friendly staff, happy hour at the bar! We arrived early and were on a time crunch to check in since we had tickets to Alcatraz. They were happy to check us in early at no extra charge and the process was quick! All done with a... We came to the city for Fleet Week and knew we wanted to be near all the action at the Wharf. We were looking for a nice, reasonably priced (by SF standards) hotel near the Wharf with refrigerators in the room, which is exactly what we got at the Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf. The lobby is very welcoming, always with fruit-infused water and coffee at the ready, and my son appreciated the lollipops at the front desk. The rooms are pretty big - we had a king bed plus queen size pull-out, and f... Read more

I stayed here for one night on a holiday from the UK. Check in was brilliant - I arrived early but a room was found for me and the service was friendly, professional and just an example of great customer service. Having just arrived from a 14hour flight from Australia in the pouring rain - the check in service was pitched just right, and focussed on my needs without being too scripted. The room was very clean and well presented. The location is perfect for everything in Fisherman's' Wharf - just... Read more

Booked via Trailfinders UK. It costs around £60 from San Fran airport to this hotel. The hotel is a very short walk from fisherman's wharf which is fantastic and across the road is the city sightseeing tour office and bus meeting points. There are several really good eating places immediately nearby, the Hollywood cafe is great for breakfast, a one slice pizza restaurant ( don't be put off by the basic layout, it's good ) as well as a more upmarket pizza restaurant and a bakery. The Concierge made several very helpful recommendations. You can catch a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus just around the corner to help you tour all of San Francisco. The Bell Captain assisted with the storing of luggage, so we could have extra time to explore the area. Will most definitely stay here again! Our view of the city was excellent from our room... We had a free nightwith our credit card and this was perfect. Comfortable and convenient in a perfect location for a getaway in San Francisco. The bed was comfy and the hotel was quiet. We are East Bay locals who wanted a night in the city and this is just a couple of blocks from all the action in Fisherman's Wharf, The Cannery and Ghiradelli Square. We ate outside (the weather was great) at Ciappino's for dinner and had brunch at Boudin Bakery (also outside).

Stayed at this hotel for the duration of Dreamforce. Hotel was a little out of the mix for the general festivities, but knew this at the time of booking. Fishermans wharf is a tourist hotspot, but great for runs to Golden Gate Bridge each morning. Not sure if the hotel has more than one gym, but the only one I found was near the outdoor swimming pool and very small. Overall, great hotel and location

Large rooms and a good location. I've stayed at this hotel twice for business trips. One stay was for a 4 day conference in the hotel. Rooms are typically american large rooms.
