We booked this hotel online the day before our 3 night stay. Although we booked on a discounted online site, we still found the price to be quite high, but all the hotels in San Francisco were quoting high prices at the time. I had been watching prices for our dates for a month or so and never found a reasonable deal in SF. It seems that hotel prices in San Francisco have risen significantly recently and with a 16% tax on hotel stays in the city, the prices are higher still. That said, we LOVED... Read more

We were booked in at The Galleria by our travel agent, so didn't really know what to expect. It was just a short walk from the BART in downtown San Francisco, so met our preference of using public transport to get from the airport with no problem. It's a small hotel, clearly individual and was very welcoming. The room was a reasonable size, but not large. It looked out over the street, so could be noisy. The beds were comfortable, the facilities reasonable and it was at a good price. They offer... Read more

Good location, lovely room and short walk from Union square (outdoor art exhibitions, coffee shops, park atmosphere). Very friendly staff happy to give directions & recommend places to eat. Fountain Cafe; Bread & Cocoa, both nearby and good breakfast stops. Wine hour was a bonus as was morning coffee on the Mezzanine floor. S.F. was a great place to get around and the F bus was a cheap option to get to the Wharf from Market st. (2blocks away). Hop on/off bus tours show you the city and sights an... Read more

I was puzzled by this place. My room was comfortable but the hotel facilities were limited: in particular, there is no restaurant and when I asked about breakfast I was directed to visit a nearby coffee shop. But there is a small running track on the premises so that's okay. And then there is 'wine hour': free wine for an hour each evening. Like I said, puzzling.

There were several surprises once I checked in. There was a workout room, as well as a small outdoor garden area on the third floor, complete with benches and shady areas. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. I wanted to use public transportation as much as possible and both the Caltrain station and the BART stop were within walking distance. Chinatown and Union Square were only blocks away. The location is terrific.

This was a very nice hotel. The front desk staff was very helpful with directions on how to get to the ballpark. The room while on the smaller side was very nice and well decorated. It was located in a nice section of town. I actually got lost walking home from AT &T Park and never felt unsafe while trying to find the hotel.

At 8am I asked for my room be made up as soon as possible. When I returned at noon it was not made up. Call the front desk who were extremely argumentative. This morning the hotel charged my card $200 in error. Again the front desk staff was rude a accusing me of forgetting I used the card. When they finally agreed ...it will take a week to correct their error!!!!

Hotel was good enough but nothing special. Great for the price, though. Pros: Great location: walkable to Union Square, the Ferry Building, North Beach, etc. Also very quiet interior rooms (we never heard anyone) and nice decor. Very friendly staff. Cons: Old. Musty bathroom. Stiff lumpy bed and hospital grade sheets. Air conditioner that needed repair during our stay.

This is a beautiful hotel, great staff, and nice room. Bed is comfortable. Bathroom with shower only but decent size. Wine reception in PM and free coffee in morning. Great location- almost across the street from Chinatown, 3 blocks from Union Square, and 1/2 miles from Ferry Building. Lots of good restaurants and stores nearby.

We stayed here for three nights for the beginning of our honeymoon in Sept '16. The room was lovely, it was a standard room but had high ceilings, a large window that let in lots of light and a very nice bathroom. I liked the fact they had guides and magazines on things to do in San Francisco, this was a nice touch. The room itself was on the compact side, but we still had plenty of room to lay suitcases out etc. There was no restaurant but lots of places to eat nearby so wasn't an issue. Union ... Read more

We asked for a quiet room which we duly received, on the inside courtyard. It was small but functional. More importantly, there was absolutely NO street noise so slept soundly. Small fridge in room but stocked with the usual overpriced beverages. I asked for some hot water for a tea on the first night and was afforded a kettle for my room which was great. This advertises itself as a boutique hotel. It is quite an old building but is kept in quite good order. The room we had was clean and comfortable but while it was large with two walk in wardrobes the shower/toilet was tiny. For the price of the hotel they do need to rethink their room layout, less wardrobe more shower room. The location is good close to the centre of the financial area and we found it a fairly easy walk to the Fisherman's wharf area but it was a good half an hour. We were ... Read more

I gave it 5 stars because everyone was super nice and room was clean and modern. Some pluses - Free coffee and tea in the morning and wine at night Great and safe locations in financial district Very close to tourist areas Close to Union square and ferry building Nice little garden area on 3rd floor with a running course too The only negative is that the shower and sink did not drain well which was kind of gross. Otherwise great stay and would recommend.

The hotel was the perfect location......in the FiDi but close to Union Square and multiple other locations. The hotel was beautiful, steps were very unique. There is a terrace on the 3rd floor that was also unique and beautiful. The staff was always very respectful, genuinely friendly. The room was cozy. I wasn't a fan of the mattress, it was way too squishy. Overall the experience was spectacular and I would return!!

We felt a little remiss not going to the complementary wine gatherings because it would have been interesting to meet some of the guests. Unfortunately we had other plans each evening. Great location for the business traveler! Less than a 10 min walk to the office and nearby to a bunch of great places to eat for all meals. My faves are the close proximity to all the french bistros and cafes. Also, who can say no to free wine, daily from 5:30-6:30pm? The only complaint is the rooms and bathrooms are super super small.
