This hotel is really good.. the rooms are huge and very quiet. You are a few minutes from great restaurants and you have easy transportation from there to the Bay or to other touristic places. But you can easily walk from the hotel to the Pier 39 area.

Was a good value, given the price per square inch in SF. Was walking to Fort Mason Center for QS conference, which was pleasant trek through neighborhood and around a city park. Local food was great, The Green Restaurant that I read about in learning about Steve Jobs' life was nice too. Overall good value.

I wanted a place near the city with free parking and free breakfast. The place is is not too far off the beaten path and the room was clean. Yes it is dated, but still fine and the night clerk was very nice and helpful. What annoyed me was the "breakfast". I appreciate a place with a nice spread (yogurt, waffle maker, juice) but am fine with coffee, tea and donuts- basic but you can still say you offer breakfast- but no milk for coffee and no brewed coffee? Just packets of the "creamer powder" t... Read more

Stayed here three nights on a road trip. Location is great. Really handy for marina, crookedest road and about 10-15 mins walk from Fisherman's wharf. The rooms are small but adequate with fridge and microwave and everything was clean. However, road noise at night was really bad making a good night's sleep difficult. There's a free breakfast but this is just muffins and cakes and must be eaten in your room. However, the biggest plus for this place is free parking which isa big bonus in San Franc... Read more

Driven past this place for years - recently we decided to come to the city to see a show and spend the night ans play tourist the next day. The Francisco Inn was perfect for a short stay - we checked in in the afternoon, changed ans went out to dinner, the show and some fun afterward. Good location whether you are going to run around the Marina, shoot Downtown to a museum or hang out in some funky dive SOMA. I would not bring a large family nor would I plan to stay longer than one or two nights... Read more

This is a fairly good place for the price you pay and the location. The fact that guests get free parking makes it even better. The rooms are nice, the bathroom is huge by hotel standards, and the area seemed safe to me. Keep in mind it's on Lombard. It's a busy street at all hours. (Ear plugs are provided though) Again, keep in mind that it's on Lombard (at Franklin) so it's around one mile to Fisherman's Wharf. That's not a long walk, really. It's San Francisco, so the walk is both up hill a... Read more

This hotel was booked for us and it looked ok judging from the website. However it was a huge disappointemnt, it is on the busiest road in san francisco (leading to golden gate bridge), the room was old with broken furiture and a very smelly carper which should have been replaced years back. the so-called 'free breakfat' is just a tray with horrible greasy bagels and croissant placed ion a small table in the tiny lobby, where there is nowhere to sit. the wi-fi connection is haphazard to say th... We arrived at the hotel past midnight after a long drive from Las Vagas. That night, We were put in the worst ever hotel room I've stayed in USA by far. The room was very small and did not suite our family. The beds were horrible. Never slept in such an uncomfortable bed in my life. All this agony because the hotel was fully booked. My view not good enough given I had done the booking 3 months in advance over Expedia and I had clearly mentioned the fact that I am traveling with two kids. Howev... Read more

We've stayed at the hotel just after New Years' Eve earlier this year. We've stayed at one of the double bed rooms (accommodating well two people). The room is very spacious. The facilities and the room itself are a bit outdated, but everything was nice and clean. They do not offer breakfast per say, but they do leave some goodies at the reception everyday in the morning. Therefore, you can still eat a croissant or a donut and drink coffe/hot chocolate for free. Overall, I'd recommend this place... Read more

We booked a room here at the last minute on a trip to San Francisco. The hotel was older and some decor was dated but they clearly had done the best with what they had. Everything was extremely clean and the staff were helpful friendly and accommodating.

Great location. Close to Fishermans Wharf and you really get that sweet SF vibe by just stepping out on the street. This was one of the cheaper places we could find in downtown SF so we weren't expecting much and of course what we got wasn't Hilton or Marriott but for what it is this place was actually great. Our room was clean and had been updated with a new TV. The bed was very comfortable. It can be tricky to find parking but if you're happy with double parking and leaving the keys in the lob... This was a ok hotel. Staff were helpful and room was clean. However a bit noisy and had to notify front desk that they had a homeless person sleeping the stair well. This hotel was walking distance to fisherman wharf. It was a OK hotel but probably would not re visit.

We stayed one night with a room on the 3rd floor. Elevator in our wing only worked one time. We were told we could the one located in another wing. Room was very cramped with the 2 beds; nothing like pictured in the ad. No closet, except for a small open rack with some hangers. Tiny countertop in bathroom. Luckily bathroom large enough to set up the ironing board to use for our toiletries. Cheap basic TV remote. No table & chairs in the room. Ad says free parking but not enough spaces for all... We only stayed one night. But the room was really big and was clean, although the room did smell a bit funny. The bed was comfortable. The car parking was good and free and it was easy walking to Fishermans Wharf. The staff were totally brilliant. We had a problem with a flat battery on our car and the man behind reception came and helped us and got the car started for us in no time. He was fantastic - service above and beyond. Thank you so much.

I was there last week.. The room was clean and had all the comforts, including hearplugs!! In fact rooms are facing the street, and you could not sleep with all that noise!! The location is perfect, anyway. You can easily walk to the fisherman's wharf (very nice, take your chance to visit!!) and get the cable car from there! The personnel was very Kind, and as long as you are not looking for a 5stars hotel, i would definitely suggest Francisco Bay inn.

I read several reviews before getting there with the family. No surprises. Very good location, very nice people at the reception. Rooms need to be refurbished and the breakfast was really simple (pastries, croissants, coffee, hot chocolate). No problems with noise.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Pretty basic- but clean and comfortable. Had a nice bathroom and a good tv and fridge. The front desk staff were really awesome and accommodating. We had a large truck and trailer and they were very helpful in letting us maneuver and park in the lot. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is located a block from Lombard and Van Ness, which is convenient to everywhere, and the hotel has free parking. The rooms are large and clean, with lots of horizontal places to put your things: a desk, a bureau, two nightstands, and two chairs. The bathroom is huge and nice and clean. The front desk folks were incredibly helpful on multiple occasions. You would think the rooms would be noisy, but they have great soundproofing and I never heard any other guests (and the hotel was ... Read more

We were over charged for 1 additional night and by booking.com. the room smelled dirty, they shower door wouldn't open or close correctly. Once we asked about getting anything rectified, they told me nothing they could do. They lost me as customer for sure!

The location near on Lombard near Van Ness was convenient. The rooms were basic and, on a Saturday night, received a lot of noise from the street. Fortunately, ear plugs were provided, although only one pair. Breakfast consisted of donuts, a few croissants, and instant coffee. We opted instead for the GOLO Cafe, a little hole in the wall with excellent breakfasts, only a block away on Lombard and Gough. Try to avoid the tandem parking here, it can be very inconvenient if you are on the insid... Read more

Upon arriving at the Francisco Bay Inn, we were treated with the utmost respect and generosity. The office staff was incredibly accommodating, extending discounted rates that far exceeded our expectations. Not only did we experience such extraordinary kindness with the booking, but we were also greeted with the warmest hospitality, leaving the office with maps for each of San Francisco's districts and locally crafted candies. As a family of six we really had trouble finding somewhere reasonably central that could fit us all and wasn't riduculously priced. We ended up with two rooms and a total of 3 beds. For 3 nights we paid over $900 There was one parking space left when we got there and we left our car there 3 days. Initial checkin was slow but the rooms looked OK. Over the course of our stay we found maintenance issues. My wifes bathtub plug would not stay inserted. My bathroom door would not shut. I reported... Read more
