We weren't sure what to expect when we booked this hotel. The price was good and the place looked a little tired on the outside and in the elevator, but when we got to our room it was nicely redone and clean and the bed was comfortable. It had a nice work area, and nice plug-ins by the bed. The breakfast wasn't anything special, but had scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, juice, oatmeal, bagels, toast and more. I would not be afraid to stay here again. The only downside is they charge ... Read more

This was a last minute find on trip advisor. Nice and quiet and comfy. Breakfast was super yummy, a bit crowded but we got what we wanted and the staff replenished often. Staff were very nice. Check in took a bit, but check out was super quick. Would definitely stay again if out this way. Thanks!

Service from the desk was friendly and accurate. The room was one of the odd numbers on the third floor, so it faced the nearby CalTran railroad tracks. The room was actually quiet due to thick walls and doors, but outside was very noisy. Outdoor hallways are a bit of a negative, but the property was in good shape. Room was adequate, bathroom was very nice with granite and very clean. Was able to check in early which was nice. Breakfast was a bit of an upgrade for this chain with eggs, sau... Read more

I recently stayed at this property to catch an early international flight from SFO. I was extremely disappointed with the facilities. The room was old and dated, the wifi did not work properly, and the breakfast was terrible. Also, you could clearly hear the trains passing by outside. The sad thing was that I paid $180 for the night!!!! This was the most overpriced hotel for its value that I have ever stayed at. I would think twice before staying there again!

I needed a last-minute hotel for a night before my flight. I did not have a car so I was looking for a place with a free shuttle to SFO. My search included this Comfort Inn. I booked even though the price seemed a bit steep. I was only there for 12 hours but it was adequate for my needs. The train was loud but can't say it kept me awake. The breakfast was standard. Staff very friendly.

Use this chain for stop overs near airports. Clean and not overpriced. Front desk very helpful. Had time to spend the afternoon in the city. Their shuttle took us to their BART train located in the airport into San Francisco. Picked us up on our return. Great way not to have to drive into the city and pay for parking and fight traffic.

I got to this hotel late at night and checked in. I went to my room and shortly after falling asleep I was awoken by a loud noise and my room shaking, I thought it was an earthquake but then realized there was a train passing right next to my room. I also noticed when I woke up that it was very cold so I turned on the heat, I horrible smell came out the heater so I turned it off. I called the front desk and they said "Oh, they didnt tell you about the train?, they were supposed to tell you." I... Read more

The room was adequate but dated and via external corridors. The room seemed clean. Like all SFO hotels it has vastly inflated prices compared to a few years ago. Breakfast was reasonable and there was a shuttle service. You need to use Cal Train to get to downtown as there is no nearby Bart station - although you can get the shuttle to the airport and wait for it again at the airport.

I recently stayed here for a few days with my husband, just a getaway. This was the cheapest hotel in the area during the time that we were in town and it was still overpriced. The outside needs to be updated. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathrooms are tiny; me and my husband had to take turns in there. I didn't partake in the breakfast, but my husband did; there was an assortment of things to choose from. When I first arrived, I took a shower and noticed that the water was poolin... Read more

We stayed here 3 nights and were very pleased with our stay. It was a short 10 to 15 minute drive to downtown and there were some really good restaurants just down Grand Ave. I would, however suggest a first floor room.

Trying to be a bit honest was there. Stains on rug by bed; stains on side of bed; older room. Large size room but noise was obvious upstairs. If you need to commute to SF or south bay, the train station is only a few blocks away - down side to that - the tracks are right next to the hotel and so goes the train!!! The people at the front desk were wonderful. They were helpful and sincere. I really wouldn't stay there again.

Our room smelled terrible. The carpet in our room was torn and stained. We stayed on the back of the hotel near the highway and heard people walking around outside all night....creepy. Also, they had locks on everything from ice to the gate to the hot tub surrounded by broken lawn chairs. The whole place needs to be either remodeled or torn down! We could not wait to get out of this place...ugh.

Nice enough for the night before we caught our plane. The morning staff was helpful. Because of flights, we had not eaten for some time. They made accommodations for us even though we were leaving very early and made sure we had breakfast.

San Francisco can be challenging as many big cities draining most of our time commuting. Well this occasion was no exception. However made the right choice to stay here. Fairly quiet to be so close to the rails. I just died and woke up refreshed. I would say a bit pricy but must be the season.

This is not the place for peace and quiet. In an industrial area and directly across street from train station, with trains in both directions about every 15 to 20 minutes. I won't rebook this hotel, but it may be great for large groups.

Staff is friendly and makes your stay comfortable . The room was clean and bathroom is big enough for the family. The location is very accessible to everything from food, beautiful spots to visit and just near our relatives to visit.

When I first arrived I was a little concerned by the outside appearance of the buildings, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. We found the staff helpful and courteous. The breakfast buffet had more than just bread and pastries and was kept clean and stocked. Our primary reason for choosing this location was price and being close to public transportation into San Francisco. The Cal train is a short walk. I read some reviews that mention the train noise. I never noticed any sounds from the t... Read more

My family and I went on an last minute, "wing it" vacation up the California coast, with several stops on the way to San Francisco. Because we didn't plan anything out, we had no reservations so we just found a few cheap hotels on the fly. After staying in a budget lodge type of place, we decided to pay a little more for a better stay. While I can't say I'm disappointed in this place, I'm certainly not impressed. We stayed in a two bed room that felt very small/cramped. Fridge and microwave... Read more

Stayed 1 night. Room was expensive for location. Unexpected charge for parking in front of building. Room with a view of Union Pacific railroad line. Above that was the freeway. Both of which were approx. 100' to 200' away from the property and could be heard all night long. Add the planes overhead made for a poor night sleep. Breakfast was typical continental breakfast. On a positive note... Staff was very friendly and helpful.

You typically pick your hotel for comfort or for convenience; this is a convenience hotel. Surrounded on all sides by transit (two rail lines, a highway, and air traffic overhead), it is fairly noisy at all hours. The highway makes it a good spot to strike out driving from, though, and the shuttle to the airport (and BART station) runs every 30 minutes like clockwork. There was also a Caltrain stop nearby, although we never tried it out. There was plenty of parking available, for a small nightl... Read more

Nothing drives me crazier than parking charges. This one wasn't much ($6) but still...especially finding out at check in. Front desk staff didn't want much to do with us. Really? Can't you just be a little more friendly. Fairly expensive but I guess this is mostly about "location". I.e. In sf area anywhere... Pretty noisy area/location.

we only needed the hotel to catch a plane the next morning. We were concerned when we arrived and saw all the railroad tracks and freeway. However the staff at the desk was very accommodating and placed us in a room facing the hot tub. We did not hear any noise at all with the exception of the person above us on the third floor walking around. Breakfast was included and it was desent. It had eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereals, pastries, etc....the staff was nice too. This is not a h... Read more

This hotel is great! The rooms are newly updated. The breakfast in the morning is plentiful and hot! There is a very clean laundry room for your convenience. This hotel is about 20 minutes from downtown San Francisco, and right on the CalTrain line with a stop within walking distance. Very easy access on and off the highway, and just minutes from the airport!

This will do if your choices are limited or budget is important or both. Property is dated but rooms are clean. The location is next to freeway and rail line but surprisingly couldn't hear much noise and slept well. Lobby staff are friendly and there is a minimal breakfast in the morning. There is a parking charge to park on their lot- was surprised by that.

This is the noisiest hotel that I have ever stayed at. There is a noisy street with loud motorcycles and cars on one side. There is an active railway practically in the parking lot on the other. When we we unloading our bags, a train with 2 locomotives came by, so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves think. There are low-flying jet airplanes overhead. There is an elevated highway so close that you could hit it with a toy slingshot. That said, the room was very nice, clean, good beds, good pillow... Read more

This hotel is close to the airport and offers a very comfortable place to sleep. The hotel is clean and cared for. The room has a microwave and mini refrigerator and a spacious bathroom. The location doesn't offer much for silence as it's nestled between a train track and highways, but when you close the door, you definitely don't hear all of the commotion outside. The room was large, extremely clean and very comfortable. It is in a very convenient location with a BART station close by. Breakfast is traditional USA and you make your own pancakes (good fun). Plenty of bacon cereals and all kinds of breads. They did however seem to have a fetish about Health and safety with some of their signs making worrying and, sometimes funny, reading. See the pics.
