We had three nights here after skiing in Park City and before heading back to Australia... not nearly enough time and we will so be back!!! Perfectly located for all the highlights of the bayside... and serendipitously for us (2 parents one teenage sugar fan) there is a wine tasting collective right out the front door- right next to a Ben and Jerry's ice cream shop... winning all the way!! Till we return ... :):)

Around the corner from cable car turn around, just three blocks from Fisherman's Wharf and many restaurants to choose from all around. What makes this a great place though is the staff. Each and everyone go above and beyond and are very friendly. HINT- this is a part of the American Express 'Hotel Collection'. So book thru AMX travel agent, use AMX card to pay and get free room upgrade on check in (if available) and $75 credit good at their Blue Mermaid restaurant. We asked for water view (our... Read more

The Argonaut has a great location, with walking and trams able to get you anywhere in the city. We had a Bay View Suite with views of the Rock out the window. On arrival we were also surprised with a bottle of wine welcoming us to the hotel which was a lovely touch. Room itself was large and comfortable, i thought the bed linen was probably on the cheaper side, as were the towels and it was strange having shower dispensers. The staff were very helpful when required.

we have stayed at this hotel several times now on our annual trip to San Fran. We were concerned as since our previous stay the hotel had changed from a Kimpton to Noble house hotels. had the quality been effected ? Well we did not need to bother as the quality had not changed, only a couple of minor changes. We were given a free room upgrade to a nice room with a view of the Bridge and cable car turnaround. it's our favourite view and well worth paying for. You cannot beat the location for a to... I absolutely enjoyed my stay at this hotel. A fantastic location, nicely decorated rooms with comfortable beds and good service. The restaurant serves good breakfast (pricey like what you would expect in SF). Dinner menu though was significantly more limited (still pricey). Overall, a nice break from chain hotels. No gym but went for a run from the hotel all the way to Golden Gate Bridge, which was even more enjoyable than a hotel gym.

We loved the location and decor at the Argonaut...great place at a reasonable room rate. Stayed with our children and had an oversized room which was perfect. Blue Mermaid restaurant was also good. Would definitely return here!

The staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. Concierge quickly secured reservations, tickets, and in-room spa services. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel restaurant had great bar and good menu. The best part: the location. No more than a half mile walk to all the sites the Wharf has to offer, including fabulous dining spots, Boudin bakery, the sea lions at Pier 39 and much more. Fabulous dim sum only a five-minute Uber ride away! Thanks so much for making this trip so special.

Great location to everything you would want as a tourist in San Francisco. Right next to the cable cars and walking distance to pier 39 and gharidelli square. The bay is right next to the hotel and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. It definitely is not a cheap hotel though. Great feel to the place. Parking is expensive.

Booked the basic room for two night in December 2016. Fisherman's Wharf may not be everyone's preferred location, but 15 minutes (walking) to North Beach, access to the F line, bay views, with great transport links? Can't top that. Hotel is clean and the staff friendly and helpful. My room was huge, but faced the inner courtyard (meaning it looked directly into other rooms) and the hotel's commitment to the nautical theme was a little intense for my taste (I could have down without the dried sta... This hotel is in a great location if you are wanting to go to Ghirardelli, Fisherman's Wharf, ride the cable cars, etc. Overnight parking is very expensive ($59) per day. There is no view from the rooms except the room across the roof from you. The floors are very "thin" and you will hear every step or movement from the people above you. The price is decent, but added expense for parking may negate any savings if you have a rental car. Our bathroom was not clean and therefore we would not st... Read more
