We (2 families) stayed 3 nights we paid in advance. The manager promised us a discount at departure. He gave us a receipt but we have not received the money in our bank account. Be careful and do not believe what the staff tells you.

Problem #1: The elevator was broken for 75% of our stay. Three small girls had to lug suitcases up 5 flights of stairs with zero help from the two men half asleep at the front desk. I understand that these things happen, but the staff did not have to be rude about it. I also witnessed the man working the front desk (at night on May 18) raise his voice at 3 other travelers when they complained about having to carry their suitcases up the small staircase to the top floor. Problem #2: The man check... Read more

One of the cheapest hotels we found and in a good location for union square. The room and breakfast area were clean however we felt stairs and corridors need more attention. Breakfast was good however the seating area too small for number of guests. Limited choice of food and could really do with a faster or more toasters as the queue to toast bread or waffles is a long wait. Ice machine outside our room in the corridor was very noisy, however when we did complain we were offered to move rooms t... Read more

For a 2-star hotel, I was very happy with our stay here. Best front house service we received after touring California for over 2 weeks, easy walk to Union Square and shopping and nice, clean rooms. We were also able to check in early which was great. Breakfast was busy and not enough seating, but other than that, would definitely stay again.

The hotel looks like it's working through a transformation. The service is so great, front desk super friendly and informative. Rooms and bathrooms small but comfortable. The hotel offers a fab free breakfast but it can get crowded. The area is walkable, about 5 minutes to union square. Many good restaurants close by- a Thai one steps away that is so so good. There is a lot of homelessness in San Fran which isn't advertised, which is sad, and apparent around the area. No one harasses or bothers ... Read more

Awesome location. Rooms are very good. Super comfy beds, well-equipped room and bathroom. 24*7 front desk. Enjoyed the stay completely. Recommended to all. Only room heaters are not as powerful as expected but while sleeping quilts are sufficient enough.

I stayed at the Adante because of its low price and central location. The lobby is nice and updated but the hallways and carpeting are quite dated. I didn't feel comfortable walking around my room without shoes. Everything else in my room was nice, new, and clean. The room was a little cramped but I feel like most economy rooms right in the city would be like that. The bathroom was huge in comparison which seemed a little silly. I had to keep my luggage in there because there wasn't enough room ... Read more

Hotel on the border between downtown and dangerous neighbouring. Every night we paid a cab to come back in hotel. Bedroom not to bad but the service awful. Me and my sister we wanted to pay by cash and split the amount, so one day before we exchanged some cash in dollar (we are from London and we have pounds) but they had get the money already from my credit card without ask us how we would like to pay. We are speechless!!!

I was looking for a hotel late at night, they gave me there last room for 3 nights as i was desperate. It turned out to be very good for the solo traveller. Staff very good, location very good and room was very comfortable for an old hotel it is doing very well.

good location, nice person and clean room, all good for a simple stay, very close the union square and cable car, convenient for eating, shopping and others, but a little noisy at night, the only one elevator sometimes busy and need to wait !

We booked online and stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, the prices as shown for the King bed rooms and Double bed rooms were the same. We didn't noticed that the room that we booked is a King bed room. However we prefer a Double bed room. The day before our arrival, we called the hotel, the hotel replied there would be an additional charge of US$30 per night plus tax. We had no other option and forced to accept the unreasonable charges. We are very disappointed the way to treat the customers. Ho... Read more

We feel we paid too much for q 1 star hotel. Hotel and roof smell bad service was poor. We don't feel safe at the room and it was possible to watch from outside to inside the room. We don't recommend this hotel

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel. It is situated in a central position, but is a very, very old building. We had a 2 double bed room. The room was clean, but very small. The door to the tiny bathroom, when opened, hit the tv on the wall. Plus the door to the wardrobe could not be fully opened without it scraping across the end of the bed. The water from the shower took several minutes to heat up and then would go cold then hot. Sometimes it stayed cold. We had 2 cold showers. There is no concier... Read more

I knew I was only going to be in San Francisco for one night and was not not going to spend that much time in the room. I saw the reviews on the hotel and booked it through my Chase Rewards points. I had an interesting stay here. I arrived early (11:00 AM) and the receptionist was extremely helpful and with a smile got me into a room on the 2nd floor. I walked up the stairs which are extremely cramped with my luggage rather than wait for the elevator. The room was small with beat up carpe... Read more

Good price in a cental location. Pictures makes it look better than it really is though. It's clean but not modern. No AC in room and it got really hot. Good service by staff. It's a good alternativ to other more expensive hotells in the san fransisco area.

Hotel was clean. Great Breakfast. Great location. Hotel is older. Room we had was very small. there isn't an air conditioner so you wouldn't want to go in the summer or warmer season. This hotel wouldn't be my first choice.

The staff was very nice and the room was clean with good comfortable beds. The fan/AC was a bit unstable and the breakfast was very simple. As one being allergic to gluten and lactose, the only thing I could eat was bananas. However the location of the hotel was nice. Very close to Union Square!

Overall we had a great stay!! The hotel staff was very nice and friendly and offer shuttle services and tour guides. The super comfortable bed made up for the small size of the room. A lot of light comming inside the room and all we needed was there (might include a microwave). Would stay again!

The hotel is conveniently located, but everything is stained and dirty. The staff does not care when you need something, and if you have a complaint they just nod their head and sarcastically smile. Our room was a King "suite", I put that in quotations because the room was so small you could hardly walk around. We called the front desk to get shampoo and soap, since the ones in our room were used from a previous person, extra blankets and a pillow for the sofa bed at 4pm, at 11pm we still had no... The hotel is not good, it might be within your budget but when I was there the elevator was broken and had to pull my bags through the tiny stairs all the way to the 3rd floor without anyone offering any help, breakfast might be acceptable but one day a homeless person entered the hotel to steal some food, made everyobe nervous.... bed wasn't comfortable at all, felt old and not so neat...

This hotel is very old. The hallways are very narrow and the stairs creak when you walk on them. The room is small and their queen size beds take up most of the room. There is no parking, you are forced to pay valet at either 45 or 55 plus tax depending on your vehicle.

Left an empty Rolex box in the room. When I came back to ask for it. The cleaning lady turned in the outside box but claimed the Green Rolex box was never inside. Why she would want to keep an empty Rolex box is beyond me. Crappy thing is now I dont have the Warranty card. It is what it is. Its my own fault for leaving it in the room.

I'm satisfied with the service both the front desk and servant. Employees working on the front desk answer my question very patiently and give me instructions and road map when I want to visit some tourist attractions, such as city hall, fishmen's wharf and golden gate bridge, and Stanford University.

Stayed here for two nights. The hotel is located close to Union Sq which is nice, although the the exact location is in a less shiny environment. The hotel itself, well, it is a bed an a private bathroom. Beds weren't too comfortable neither was I comfortable to call the linnen fresh. Although they probably were, they had this funny smell which hang throughout the hotel. Room itself looked like they wanted to do a renovation of the hotel but did it in a very DIY approach making it look very slop... Read more
