Fantastic location where you can walk to Chinatown, North Beach, Union Square just to name a few spots. There are two cable car lines at intersection by hotel that will take you to destinations further away. Room was quiet and the beds very comfortable.

A friend and I stayed here for a three day city trip. Firstly the location is AWESOME. A 5 min walk to Union square, right next to Top of the Mark and the Tonga Rooms, what more could you ask for? THe room was clean, well furnished. I especially appreciated the selection of pillows since I have a hard time with this usually. A fridge in the room was a bonus I wasn't expecting as was the free tea and coffee in the foyer each morning and in room starbucks coffee. I mean truly truly great. An... Read more

If you want to stay on Nob Hill check out this alternative to the IC, the Ritz, or the Fairmont. Big rooms especially for San Francisco. Be ready for some steep slopes-walking in this area is challenging downhill and uphill.

Room No: 325 Start with the good points, front desk were welcoming. The overall look was good and the room facilities were good. The bed, pillow options, furnishings, starbucks coffee machine and fridge for use were all great. The down points, the noise, DingDing! If I hadn't been suffering jet lag that sent me straight off to sleep (with the aid of the ear plugs kindly provided) I might have gone a little crazy. The rooms are extremely clean, the bed is very comfy. Housekeeping keeps it all in check. The hotel is beautiful and very welcoming. The staff is very attentive to the guests and accommodate when you need something. Raul at the valet/entry is such a polite and friendly man--most helpful! The hotel is centrally located and quite affordable when considering the finest hotels in the area. You will not be disappointed!!

I have never been to a hotel with so many friendly, truly helpful staff. The hotel is immaculately clean and very savvy and up to date with fast WiFi and texting to get car from valet and computers for use in the lobby. It is now my new favorite Hotel in San Francisco. Awesome location for walking almost anywhere and rooms and bathrooms are much more spacious that all other hotels I have stayed in in SF. But the friendly staff is what truly makes this place amazing.

The Stanford court is a hidden gem in San Francisco. My daughter and I stayed two nights and had a great time. The room was spacious and well appointed. The location on Nob Hill was beautiful. Easy access to the streetcars and close to Union Square for shopping. The staff was very helpful and gave great advise for first time visitors. We will be back!

I checked into the Stanford Court last night. Although I was wheeling two large suitcases and had on a backpack, no one offered to help with my luggage. One lamp emitted a loud hum, another was out, and the coffee maker was missing critical parts. One wonders if the rooms are ever inspected at all.

Good location , large room overlooking the bay, very helpful reception staff. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Coffee / juice available in the lobby even if you don't have breakfast included. The hallways are in need of being refreshed. The only alternative for breakfast was a buffet at $18 or $24. I'll start with the fact that I used to be in the hotel business for years so if anyone know how hotel operates, I do. There are rules and there are exceptions, of course, always at the employees and the MODs discretion. So last week my apartment in the city was supposed to have a scheduled electrical work and thus no power in the units for 24-48 hrs, I thought ok, I'll just book a hotel and hang out like a tourist, then the day of the hotel stay, I got a call from my boss to come to the office ... Very nice hotel situated near the top of the city and across the street from the Fairmont Hotel and next to the Mark Hopkins Hotel. Busy hotel with attentive staff. Because of the steep climb to the hill on California Street, if you are limited in walking ability, you should cab or Uber. We had an interior room facing a courtyard so we did not experience noise from the trolleys.

Really nice hotel, clean and welcoming. Breakfast ok but a bit pricey for what they offer. Bit noisey in the morning from the trams outside but if you're an early riser about to hit the town it's not much of a bother. Husband accidently left his wedding ring behind on the bed side table after checking out, rang up a couple of hours later and housekeeping found it for us. Outstanding location at the top of Nob Hill. Classically elegant facility that has been updated tastefully with the amenities expected of a first-class urban hotel. I really loved the location of this hotel. Very sleek, modern lobby area. However, our floor,, 8th, could have used some renovation. The carpeting was in need of a good cleaning, if not replacement. Rooms are large, this a major plus. Beds were comfortable. I think housekeeping could have done a better job in daily rounds; sugar from coffee making our first morning was still on counter top when we left 4 days later, but this is minor, considering ideal location. Would stay again.

Great location but not great value for money. We're paying $400 a night plus $60 a night to park a car so you'd expect a decent hotel. Main gripe is the bathroom. Please spend some money and refurbish them or at least sort the drainage so the bath empties. Friendly reception staff would be good too. Tired and overpriced I think best describes The Stanford Court. Tip. Park down on Powell St its $25.

Great location near Union Square and not far from Chinatown. Across the street from the fabled Tonga Room! Mostly very pleasant staff. Beautiful old building, nicely appointed in a modern way. Good-sized room and bathroom. Older tub. TIP: Because it's on a cable-car route, evenings are presumably quieter on upper, courtyard-facing rooms. We had one and experienced no street noise. Management provided us with a fridge and microwave for the asking. They seem very oriented toward accommodating ever... Read more

Excellent, attentive staff. The hotel itself, esp corridors and lobby and elevators and entry, lacks elegance. Perhaps this is too much to expect at this room rate. Next SF visit, we'll book a $350-450/night hotel. At $250 daily, this is fine.

Nice and comfy hotel to stay. Good location easy access to Chinatown, Union Square, Fisherman Wharf and Cable car museum. Hotel staffs friendly, fast check in and out. I would recommend to stay this hotel.

This hotel was such a wonderful place to stay. Minutes away from all of the fantastic SAN Fran sites & attractions. The cable car stop was steps away from the hotel entrance and it was also a great place to check out local art. The Stanford Court has digital images, graffiti, and very unique art from local artists in the lobby. The room was quite small (true that we didn't spend much time there), but the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. You also have the option to choose the type of pillow you ... Read more

Room was compact which is typical for San Fransisco. Great location. 1.5 mile walk to the pier however, cable car right across the street for $8.00 one way. Don't plan on early check in. When they say 4p.m. check in, they mean 4p.m. check in, no exceptions. We were on the 4th floor and noise level from the street and cable cars was distracting well after midnight. Breakfast was good, $26.00 per person for full breakfast. You must request a microwave, it's not automatically in your ... Read more

Overall, we were quite happy with our stay here. The location is great, with easy access to public transit. The room was clean and comfortable, but the bathroom was in serious need of an upgrade. Like others, we found the room rather noisy at times because of the street traffic. But they do offer ear plugs, and we found that the noise wasn't so bad later in the evening. The staff was pretty friendly as well, answering all of our questions about how to get around, etc. Overall, a great place... Read more

We had the most delightful 6 nights stay at Stanford Court. The location of the hotel in Nob Hill is convenient to getting around San Francesco as the cable car stop is 2 mins walk away. San Fran has an excellent Uber and taxi service available also we used the trollies and cable cars. A good tip is don't have a car hire in San Fran its too stressful to find parking and it's expensive use public transport it's fairly priced. Nob Hill is a very safe location with many lovely hotels and restaurant... Read more

Staff was friendly, property clean, if you wanted a cocktail or lunch you would have to go across the street to the Fairmont or elsewhere. No bar until 5pm. Rationed towels...no ice machines on floors.

The Stanford Court comes close, but misses. I was looking forward to room service, which isn't offered, nor is a minibar. This seems basic for a luxury hotel. The furnishings look dated, and the bathroom felt like a motel. I will not be staying at the Stanford Court again.

Located at the top of California and Powell, the view is fabulous but the uphill climb will test your walking skills. Decent neighborhood eateries. Directly on street car line so get a multi-day pass. Terrific breakfast buffet. Quiet, no slamming doors.

The hotel was decent. Parking your vehicle here is in my opinion WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. The hotel is relatively pricey and I found it tacky to charge $50 daily to park as if you aren't already paying enough in taxes and hidden " urban bundle fees". Other than that-- it was clean and conveniently located. The staff was responsive and accomodating

The hotel was in a great location, clean, safe and a wonderful view. Faye was wonderful, she help me with all my needs, the best customer service I've seen in a while. I was greeted every time I return to the hotel with a smile. Thank you.

Parking prices should have been explained upon arrival. We were shocked at the $52 a day parking fee and would have financially planned better if had know we would be paying $104 in total for parking.

One can receive here not just a nice and comfortable room, good food, great view of the town and the bay but a lot of attention and personal assistance from the personnel. Especially Faye McDonald front office manager is a really nice, supportive person who is able to solve perfectly the guests' problems. Thank you for the great stay and the careful attention.

We recently stayed here with our young kids and my parents, who we took to celebrate a birthday. The room was nice and spacious. Very comfortable. Didn't do much at the hotel itself but the staff was very friendly. location was great. It doesn't have the old-school glamour of somewhere like the Fairmont and isn't the most luxurious hotel I've ever stayed in but it also didn't come with the price tag of that type of hotel. We went on the weekend and got a great rate so were happy with the stay. ... Read more

We had a beautiful, richly appointed room on the 8th floor with view facing south across the city. The staff here aims to please. People remember your name and greet you with a smile. They sent up a surprise dessert and wine for my birthday. The central location on top of Nob Hill is terrific, you can walk to interesting places in any direction you head. We look forward to returning.

Rooms are wonderful! VERY comfortable beds!. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Very clean. Location excellent! The only problems was the elevators quit working! Not a problem for us as we were on the third floor. We'll just walk up and down. HA! Stairwell door always locked at lobby level. No notification of this at stairwell entrance so you don't find this out until you walk all the way down. Other exits out of the stairwell take you to an alley or a roof. Not feeling exactly sa... Not the best. Rooms need rennovation. You have to go to the first floor to get ice. Requested decaf coffee for the room by phone. It was never delivered. Elevator was broken on two days! And not even an apology or comment from the manager or staff!
