This is hotel is a quiet & elegant oasis in the heart of San Francisco Pros 1. Probably the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept on 2. Very quiet despite its central location 3. Extremely attentive and polite staff 4. Elegant, historical building which has been extensively renovated without losing it's charms 5. Great location Cons 1. I would never spend this much on a hotel for leisure travel 2. layout of this hotel is a little byzantine due to the age of the building and location on ... Read more

I would recommend this hotel for anyone searching for a high quality experience. Upon arrival we were greeted by name. They wished my husband a happy birthday. They also left a birthday card and treats for my husband's birthday. Would definitely return again.

You're probably better off staying somewhere else at 1/2 or 1/4th the cost and using the extra money to fill the gap on anything you'd be missing out on. the rooms might be a little bigger here and the staff is polite... but in no way did it justify the cost.

Very nice place to rest in excellent setting. Will stay here as often as possible. Great staff and rooms. Noise occasionally slipped through the door from the hall, but otherwise an excellent experience.

The Ritz is for the very wealthy and the uneducated traveler. There are many less costly options that are more aesthetically qualified. The proximity to China town is a plus if you care to stay here. P.S. There was a urine stain on one of the chairs the shower did not drain properly and there was matted hair under the bathmat. Sorry.

My 2nd stay at a Ritz was more than memorable. Although stay at the club level might have had a role to play in my experience, the staff was always very warm and the SF property is world class. The fitness center was very well equipped with the latest techno-gym equipment. Front desk was very professional and warm at both check-in and check-out. Housekeeping staff checked in for any special requirements. Fitness center housekeeping staff acknowledged me as a guest, which is not always the case. ... Read more

The hotel is beautifully appointed and located just above Chinatown on Nob Hill, with an easy walk one can get to Union Square, MOMA and Market Street within 10-15 minutes. The staff members at check-in were friendly and helpful, as one would expect at a Ritz-Carlton property. However, the experience took a turn after that. I checked into the room and left immediately for a lunch meeting. When I returned later, I was surprised to find that there were quite a bit of empty candy wrappers on th... Read more
