Excellent service, friendly staff, and extremely clean hotel. I highly recommend the club level. The club level food was always fresh and the wait staff was friendly and helpful. The Ritz-Carlton is a classy place and well with the money.

Summary: The family wanted to get away for Thanksgiving but we didn't want to travel far so we decided to visit San Francisco. We chose the Ritz in Union Square because it was close to a lot of places that we wanted to visit. From the minute we arrived at the hotel to when we left we felt very welcomed by the staff and they did an amazing job treating my family very well. My review will be summarized in different groups and I hope that it will help others make their decision easier when con... Read more

The property is magnificent. The staff is friendly and attentive. The location is perfect for shopping and sightseeing. My room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel seems to be very family friendly also, lots of children around.

I've spent 5 nights in a club one bedroom suite during my business visit to SF. The bedroom was spacious with extremely comfortable bed. It has a large tv and two small closet which are more than sufficient to accommodate your clothes. It has 1.5 bathrooms. The main one got twin sinks, a bath tub, and a shower. The smaller one only a sink and a toilet. I loved the large living room which got a large tv, sofa, chair, and a nesspresso machine. The club lounge was excellent, which offers food, sn... Read more

Never have I worked hotel staff so hard. Laundry, restaurant bookings, newspapers, errands, all performed flawlessly and with a smile. From the kerb onwards the hotel was not only beautiful but superbly managed. I couldn't recommend the hotel highly enough.

A pricey option - although what hotel in San Francisco isn't, these days - but I had a very comfortable, clean and quiet room with good modern facilities. Decor throughout was plain and somewhat devoid of taste, surprising given the brand. It all looks rather ordinary, like a Vegas hotel. But the staff make a real effort to anticipate my needs and remember my name, which is a thoughtful touch. I ordered room service in the evening and the food was excellent, arriving quickly. I also ate breakfas... Read more

The door men were very welcoming and helpful. The lobby is very inviting. We stayed on the club level. Our room was not ready so they sent us up to the club to wait. There we were warmly welcomed with champagne into a bright club room on the 8th floor. This was not your ordinary club! They had complimentary wines, champagne and cocktails all day. They have breakfast, light lunch and snacks, appetizers and dessert depending on the time of the day. Concierge was there to help with any reservations... Read more

We stay in Ritz Carlton's and other 5 star hotels from time to time. This hotel is nice, and, as always, the service is very good, but the prices for drinks at the bar in the lounge and for the room service we had were ridiculous. For room service, we (2 people) ordered one egg, side of avocado, coffee, toast, bagel and cream cheese plate with 2 glasses of sparkling wine. The bill was over $150. That is obscene. They seemed to have crossed over a line. I know food and drinks are always mor... Read more

It seems the property recently renovated. The location is excellent. It is near Union Square but still at the quite side. We stayed in one bedroom suite. It is large enough and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay.

No doorman or bell staff to assist with luggage upon arrival. Asked for help and received a flippant response from the hotel greeter. No help. So we carried out luggage to the front desk and checked in. Frankly....nobody to seemed to care.
