"My wife and I selected the King George Hotel after researching many travel packages online for airfare and hotel accommodations. While the most common thing that can be said about the hotel is that it features attractive yet quaint features that are no more or now less than what a single person or couple may require if staying in the area for a vacation or business trip. The only miscue I could mention was a sliding glass shower door that was off track but easily remedied once i lifted back into its correct position.

The King George Hotel really shines in terms of being at the heart of so many thing enjoy and experience while in San Francisco. Several fine restaurants are within very brief walking distance of the hotel as well as theaters, art galleries, clubs, rental car facilities, hostels, and department stores. The King George is also conveniently located near cable car, metro bus, and BART access should you desire a means to travel to the Bay Area must-see attractions like the Golden Gate Bridge or Fisherman's Wharf.

The King George will DEFINITELY be on my list the next time my wife and i vacation in San Francisco!"

"The reason King George Hotel won me over is because of it's location and affordability. It is literally only a couple blocks away from all the prime shopping areas and Chinatown was within walking distance as well. The front desk agent was extremely helpful upon check-in as he provided us a map and a breakdown of how to reach popular tourist spots. The infamous San Francisco trolley cars are close-by, which afford you a cheap and fun way to travel to Fisherman's Wharf. Not to mention, this hotel is next to a gazillion eateries for those foodies like myself. They place two computers down in the lobby for those who want to do searches or check emails, which I found very convenient. You can also use your laptop or iPad, since they offer complimentary wi-fi throughout the building.

My one and only gripe with the hotel room is the noise level. I noticed how thin the walls were when I got my room, and being an arm's length distance away from other rooms made my mornings not so pleasant as I heard the hotel maids and guests constantly slamming doors. My room was also facing an alleyway, so my first night all I heard were bums outside talking aloud and banging on drums until close to 3:30 am in the morning! I think it's a hit or miss with the rooms. Even so, I would return if need be because of the helpful staff and ideal location. I loved the convenience King George provided during my stay."

"The location is great, just walk out the door to the cable car, diners, and shopping. The hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Not sure what noise other reviewers were writing about, we heard nothing.
I would recommend this hotel to others."

"The hotel was very quaint. When we first arrived we were a little taken aback by how small the room and bathroom were. As the week went on, we realized that it didn't really matter that the room was small because we never spent any time in it. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this is not the place. However it is a nice place to stay especially if you do not plan on doing much in your room. Just know that the bedroom and bathroom are both pretty small. Thank goodness it is onlymy husband and myself that are staying here... If we had kids I think we would probably be pretty cramped!"

"Hotel located in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Traveling alone I am always conscious of my surroundings. Felt comfortable walking back and forth to the convention daily.Hotel is very old per it's history was built in 1914. So the small but comfortable room was in character. Customer service was excellent.Elevator small and stairs steep and narrow and an exercise in patience. My overall experience was good. Would have liked to see a refrigerator in each room or available at booking. I would use this hotel again.

"The hotel has a very good location and is clean. We arrived really early, about 10:00 am, and we were expecting to just drop our bags and come back to check in, but they had a room ready and took us at that time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And the price is good, but, there is a cost associated with the good price. The room is very small. Right when you open the door, the bed is right there, literally by the door. The room is the size of a regular room in a apartment. So if you are looking for space, this is not for you. It is clean and the staff is great but if you need more space this is not for you."

"Hotel was conveniently located, staff were very efficient. Room was very clean, perfect for my needs. Always concerned with trying out a new hotel in SF, so many complaints of bed bugs in the city. The room and bed were perfectly clean, no problem whatsoever. The area is a little noisy at night but the windows are pretty thick so was able to block out most of the noise. Very large and affordable parking garage directly across the street, which was very convenient given how difficult parking is in S.F. Overall very nice experience."

"Best part of the stay. Friendly staff. Our room was 150 sq. ft.No fridge. iron did not heat up.Elevator was small and slow. little tight staircase we had to use most of the time, because the elevator was so slow. Also hotel is in the Union District. I have never seen so many homeless people in one area.Was hit up for money at everytime we left the hotel,or returned. Must be better areas to stay. It was our first trip to San Fran. Not looking forward to a return trip"

"The Hotels Valet was horrible asked me to walk down the street to go get car out of valet because couldn't get a hold of valet. Asked if could have a cab called and was told towalk a block and try to hail one. Elevator is small maybe four people fit comfortable but since no service elevator everyone uses including staff. All in all hotel is clean but the service was horrible won't be back."
