Great location in the heart of San Francisco right by the cable cars. The room was small and dated. But everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. Perfect if you plan on sight seeing. Breakfast was very basic-toast, cereal, muffins and coffee. Staff were friendly.Would definitely recommend.

Currently staying here and really enjoying it. It is in the perfect location and the front desk staff are super friendly and very helpful!!! Includes basic breakfast but pretty stoked about that :) The room is basic but has everything you need (except aircon/heaters) Definitely recommend this place!

The perfect location Half a block from Bart Station (subway) Half a block from trolley stop Other end of block is union square (tour bus pick up drop offs) Close to shopping, food and Walgreens :-) They have umbrellas and ponchos available for guests no charge yay Only thing missing was a fridge :-(

Way too much money for what it is The room was tiny way overpriced you realize the elevator is as small as a phone booth the front desk gentlemen are very nice though I guess if you have to stay in Union Square and you don't have big money even though It's big money to stay in this crappy hotel then I guess you got a bite the bullet and take it as well as stay there again only if you give me a free room and I'm shopping spree at Macy's

The location of this hotel is excellent! Short walk from train station getting train from the airport. Cable cart goes straight past the hotel. Many shops, restaurants, takeaways nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic, but was a bite to eat to last until lunchtime, and handy to grab a takeaway coffee before you set off on your day. No extra charge for in room wifi. The room was a little shabby and small, but clean.

Granted the hotel is old but clean. Great location. Cable car, subway, shops and Union Square next door. They gave us a room in the back so we wouldn't have the street noise. (The view is of the building next door.) Jack and the rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful. It gets five stars.

The location is great, right on Union square, we walked most places as long as they weren't too hilly! Would definitely recommend staying here if you are after a great location! We had a twin room on the second floor, glad it was only second floor so we could use the stairs as the lift was very slow. Beds are twin beds, not big rooms at all, not much room for big suitcases. Shower pressure was terrible, had to ask for it to be looked at, was done straight away and shower head was changed so ok... Read more

Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is right in the center of Union Square, near the double decker tour buses and a cable car stop. Starbucks and Walgreens on same block. Free wi-fi worked well. Hotel is located on main street Powell (which is not accessible from one direction so could be a problem when you are being dropped off). Rooms are very small with no a/c, but there is a ceiling fan. Rooms are clean. If you get a room facing Powell like we did you will hear the traffic noises even wit... Read more

Myself and my wife stayed here for 3 nights in June. This is not a 5-star luxury hotel, however, the rooms were clean, and perfect for what we needed. The inclusive breakfast was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel and, granted, there wasn't a huge selection (3x cereal, bread/toast, muffins, tea, coffee, hot chocolate), but considering the cost of breakfast elsewhere it was a great way to start the day. The staff were a joy, very pleasant and helpful with lots of great tips for gettin... Read more

Lovely hotel , ideally placed for are the hustle and bustle of union square ( only 20 Mtrs away !) It sits right on the tram line and as such it's well placed for getting to the waters edge ands its attractions . Turn right or left and you have an abundance of eateries and shops .the rooms are of a good size and comfortable . It was great to open the slide window at any time and know you was in the heart of a major city .great atmosphere . The lobby staff were helpful and knowledgable about the ... Read more

We went there with a deal on Groupon so the price was okay for what we got. However, the room was very humid and small, but clean. The complimentary breakfast is very limited and not very good; tea, coffee, commercial muffin, artificial juice option, cereals... but right in front of a cable car stop and the front desk was very helpful. We reserve a queen bed and they didn't have that room anymore when we arrived, it was a bit complicated but in the end it worked out well.

Hotel doesn't look much from the outside but it's super clean and comfortable. In the centre of the city with the cable cars going by. Staff were extremely helpful and any problems were attended to immediately

Room was ok, no A/C and mattresses were not comfortable. If your looking to crash for the nite and don't mind about hotel experience this would be the place and keeps your luggage secured. Found it on groupon as a good deal. Staff were awesome and friendly. Coffee bar isn't the best but there is Starbucks around the area. Take a walk and explore. I rate this hotel moderate.

I stayed at this hotel one night with my 13 year old son after a Giants game. This hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. An inexpensive place to sleep that was close to everything. Yes the room was small, yes the view was a brick wall but it served its purpose. The beds were comfy and the location cannot be beat! We used Hotels Tonight and got a great deal! This hotel does not offer valet parking to plan to park at the garage under Union Square for about $38. We would definitely sta... Read more

My grandson and I spent 1 week at the hotel Stratford the 1st week in July. It was a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean and comfortable with thick fluffy towels available every day. The staff at the hotel were always very polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and a/c was not necessary due to the weather being quite cool. The hotel was close to everything, the BART, trolley cars, buses and trams. The hotel general manager Jamie Daly is always very interested in making sure that all of ... Read more
