We stayed at the Tilden January 11th, 2017. The rooms was quite dated. The finishes did not quite match what was advertised online. The biggest issue was what we believe is a trash compactor at the side of the building. It sounded like construction was going on all night and all morning. It was extremely loud and kept waking us up every time it went off. We could hear the conversations of the people in the next room over. I'm sure they could also hear us. Staff was friendly. Lobby is very ni... Read more

This hotel is a new renovated place it is located in the heart of SF like literally the heart , I stayed here for about 4 days and my experience was very pleasant at check in I was upgraded at no cost to a more private king room which was soo nice since I had my daughter and husband with me , the room was cleaned daily which was nice as well and the staff is very welcoming , only downside is they don't have a parking structure if you are bringing your own car , I definitely recommend taking a ta... Good location, rooms looks old and elevator is really slow. Clean staff was not attentive to details (that maybe because hotel was full). Parking cost is 49 bucks, there is a 35USD overnight parking nearby

The hotel is clean and comfortable. Fairly modern with vintage vibes, room has great amenities. A convenient location, very close to Union Square - 5 mins walk. Note that the nearby neighborhood can be sketchy at night so avoid staying out too late or stick to big streets with lights. Must try the Taylor Street cafe for breakfast just next doors to the hotel - long wait but totally worth it!

We stayed for 7nights during the Christmas holidays. No aircon! The room has 2 double beds, just right for the two of us, not big nor small. The bathroom is quite small, basic toiletries is included (shampoo, conditioner, liquid body wash, a small bar soap), the pump/container for the shampoo and the rest is a bit hard to press. They are clean towels, too. Heads up as this is in the Tenderloin area wherein a lot of homeless within the vicinity. They are literally everywhere. Most of them are... Read more

Still some small amount of construction, but coffee shop seems to be near completion as well as what I assume is a restaurant. Staff are superb and the hotel was newly re-modeled so rooms are great. Area is a little dicey at night as right on edge of tenderloin and lots of homeless at night. Rooms are large; for some reason no kleenex stocked in rooms so bring your own if you want to blow your nose!

I was there with my friend for a couple of days, and it was just great. The location is perfectly situated, the room was comfy and clean, and the staff was super friendly! I'd definitely come back to this place.

A hotel full of dirt and a cheap, badly made renovation. The hotel room was dirty and the interior is very cheap and looks worn even if it is new. The staff told us at least that it was new when we complained. You can hear everything between the rooms. Everything, even when your neighbour pulls down the zipper in the trousers. We were staying a room looking towards the back, and we where wakened by a terrible noise from a room on our floor but on the front side of the hotel, quite far away. In t... Read more

Our 5th time to the property...First time as the Tilden (new ownership, etc.) Like the location and easy access to things we want to do and see. Property has been upgraded...it is an "OK" for me now....clean, modern....I will admit I miss some of the charm of the prior hotel but that's progress. Staff was friendly and competent. Lobby expanded...still no food service on site but plenty close by. I would go back for the "right deal" but moved out of the category of "romantic boutique getaway... Read more

I stayed 4 nights last October in a double room. I chhosed this hotel because it waqs close to a conference center where i should be everyday. Th location is great, close to transport and shopping areas. Union square is only 5' from there. Despite i have heard about homelesses and dangerous neighboorhood, i found it normal for walking during the night. Of course there many homeless people in the city, comparing with Europe and mainly Greece , but i didnt feel that they were dangerous. Regarding ... Read more
