Stayed at this hotel for convenience because the conference I was attending was being held there. The hotel staff were great and it was overall a pleasant stay. The rooms are dated and noisy however I was told there are renovations planned, however the largest disappointment was no food on property after breakfast other than a vending machine. After arriving late at night from a long fight I wasn't able to get anything to eat. The location being Japantown meant there weren't the usual convenient... Read more

I love the style of this hotel. I love the "Asian" feeling. Love the tub and sauna! Its so fun. The older rooms have good atmosphere, but no A/C, I really hated that and woke up grumpy and hot. I would choose one with A/C.

I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel. From the website photos it looked interesting. The hotel room was large and clean but it was also dated and extremely noisy. I could hear everything from the street especially the garbage truck at 4AM. There was breakfast but it was average for US$19. There is also a mini mall by the hotel with small stores and restaurants. I didn't eat at any of them so I can't make a specific recommendation. Overall this hotel is just ok.

Of all the many wonderful San Francisco hotels I have stayed at, this has become my favorite. The location is terrific and the valet parking is outstanding. The valets are excellent and take great care of your car. In addition, if you don't need in and out privileges you can take a short ride down the hotel elevator to the parking structure below and park there where the fee is less. There is also a shopping mall accessible through a door in the hotel where you can grab a bite to eat or do so... Read more

We loved our 2 nights at the Kabuki. The hotel is a lovely Japanese themed hotel. The bedrooms were well equipped, immaculately clean and quirky with the Japanese screens etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Its in the Japanese quarter of the city so not downtown but the public transport is easy To figure out - a 20 bus down then a 38 back and get off at Laguna stop.

Stayed for one night on a recent trip. In Japan Town, never stayed there before. Nice hotel rooms a good sized bathroom. Nice building, good decoration and staff were very friendly. Lot of good restaurants in the area and near good bus routes.

We chose to stay in the family suite and were impressed with the spacious room and the comfortable beds. The kids enjoyed having their own space behind closed sliding screen doors. As previous reviewers noted, the bathrooms aren't the most up to date (hence one less star). However, it didn't detract from the experience of West meets East. We were surprised to find a sauna in our room. Wish we had time to give it a try. We loved the convenience to so many eateries! It was hard to choose wh... Read more

First, let me say that the positives certainly outweigh the negatives for The Kabuki. The location in Japantown is wonderful. It's a more upscale neighborhood than some of the surrounding ones. And at night, it is incredibly quiet. The hotel has a funky Japanese/modern motif. There are 10 or more sushi bars on the same street. So if you love sushi, you hit the motherlode! The staff is friendly and kind. The rooms are clean and bright. The beds are extremely comfortable. Some of the roo... Read more

We had an excellent stay in San Francisco, and had never been before so didn't know what to expect. The city is fab. We had a 2 night stay at Hotel Kabuki and it was great. The staff, in particular Greg who was the first to greet us at check-in, were fantastic. He was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The service was brilliant. The hotel room was big and airy, the bed very comfortable, everything was nice and clean. We had wifi but I only used this once to send an email and it ... Read more

I stopped at the Kabuki for a few nights, the reception staff were friendly on arrival. The room we stopped in was not the best with the bedside lamp not working at all. The other lamp was flickering and fused. The room smelt damp. The next day I saw mice running along the wall in the seating of the breakfast area. Not impressed. Will not be stopping at this hotel again. Also hearing sirens every two minutes is not what I invisioned, some parts of SF are beautiful but at night time the whole e... Read more

I enjoyed a magnificant view from an upper corner room. Easy parking and hotel access from the parking garage at the Japanese Center. Beautiful grounds and a pleasant lobby. My room was an upper corner one and the view was fantastic. Fairly large sized, the soaking tub,/shower areas was interesting and a nice change from the norm. A good location with lots of variety within a close walk...

This hotel seemed like something a bit different and fun. The check-in staff were very friendly. We were on our honeymoon but had kept fairly quiet about it the whole trip. But Domingo at the front desk greeted us so nicely and was very good at making casual conversation about what brought us to the hotel, unlike check-ins at any of the other hotels of our trip. We told him we were there for our honeymoon and he made us feel especially welcome. In fact, he surprised us later on with a bottle of ... Read more

I live in the Valley and I needed to go to SF for a medical procedure, looking on the web showed that Kabuki had a shuttle service to the Hospital, so I bit and reserved a one nighter. Boy, was I surprised. From the minute I drove in the parking lot, every one was smiling, joking and helpful. The front desk was very accommodating since we were 2 hours early. The Japanese theme hotel fits in gently with the surrounding businesses. The place was very clean yet I never really saw any one cleaning.... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for four days and enjoyed it a lot. Located in the center of Japantown, Kabuki Hotel San Francisco is very comfortable. After a very quick checkin, a huge room (2401) was given to us with two beds, separate wet/dry areas for toilet, bath, sink and sauna area. Everything was elegantly decorated and spotlessly clean. The espresso machine and the minibar was a nice touch. All the staff members are extremely polite and professional. I had some items to be delivered to the h... Read more
