I had to sing at the San Francisco cherry blossom festival the day after I booked my hotel and as you can guess I was nervous and exhausted . I ended up booking hotel kabuki in Japantown. I used my phone to book. I received a confirmation email and was set. When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted nicely.I was pleased that my room was ready when I arrived. I was given the key went to my room and was glad. I loved the room. The room was Japanese style, it had a deep Japanese style tub. I also lo... Read more

Myself and my partner stayed in the kabuki for 6 nights, and had a very enjoyable time! The room could do with updating (which they are currently in the process of), but this did not hinder our stay at all. Our room had a double balcony with a great view of Japan town. We had a huge comfy bed and spacious room. The staff were very friendly and happy to offer assistance when needed. The hotel is in a great location, about 10 minutes bus ride away from union square and around 20-30 mins to fish... Read more

After living in SF for about 14yrs, I'd passed by this hotel countless number of times, and in Oct. 2015, I was finally able to spend a night here to see what it's like, when family came over to visit. We reserved a room that had its own private balcony, which was nice, but note that the actual balcony area was small and narrow. It did, however, offer a nice view of the surrounding area, an area where it's incredibly expensive to live, since we're talking about the Japan Town area of pricey Paci... Read more

This was my second time in San Francisco, having previously stayed at the Hotel Carlton for three nights. I was staying for 7 nights this time so really wanted a nice and friendly hotel. I managed to get Hotel Kabuki at a total steal on booking.com (it was over half price its usual rate) so I had to snap it up. My friend was staying at Hotel Majestic around the corner so it was perfect. I had a bit of a problem checking in(all my fault I must add!) i wasn't aware that the hotel charged $50 d... Read more

For anyone who isn't keen on super touristy areas, this is the right place to stay in San Fran. It's in the heart of Japantown, so has amazing restaurants right next door. Also close to Fillmore Street with all the jazz clubs. Walking distance from all amenities. The hotel itself is nicely decorated, in theme with Japantown. Not tacky or overly done. the rooms are clean and quite big, the beds are comfortable, and despite being so close to the busy centre of San Fran, it's quiet at night! ... Read more
