The location is great, can not argue with that! Complimentary "breakfast" is a overstatement, it is really croissant, bagel and coffee. The room is very small, you have no place to open 2 suitcases. And the 5th floor is very hot in general (not just our room) really don't know why. And they did not want to show the rooms before giving it to us.

Great location in the center of the city with many nearby shopping centers. Room was clean but very small. Affordable. Not have good view. Very simple 'take-away' beakfast. Near Bbart and Tram. Friendly staff. Free wifi

A very centrally located, reasonably priced hotel without many amenities. My room was clean and comfortable, some aspects had been upgraded (such as a nice shower), but others had not. The breakfast buffet is minimal (bagels, toast, juice, coffee) and needs to be taken back to your room, because there's no seating in the tiny breakfast nook. If you're looking for a very central place to stay, want a comfortable night, and aren't looking to spend much time in the hotel, it's an excellent choice.

Great location, near the BART station and close to lots of shopping and the convention center. My room was very neat and clean but small; the bath had older fixtures, but very well maintained. Breakfast was provided and the work-out room is small but functional. I would stay here again.

The hotel is centrally located to Union Square and has easy BART and Metro access. Some of the rooms do not have AC and this should be noted in the booking information. We happened to be staying during a fairly warm period and had to change rooms. However, the hotel was very cooperative about making our stay as comfortable as possible

I was in SF for a convention at the Moscone center. This was my first time staying at the Fusion. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms a bit small but functional and clean. Breakfast was interesting, it consisted of a room on the 5th floor when you have toast, coffee, pastries etc but there are no tables so you take it back to your room to eat. Easy walking distance to the Moscone and some great restaurants very nearby.

So driving to the Hotel you may be a bit worried (as you drive straight through the Tenderloin if you are coming direct from the airport) but the hotel is great and so is the location. It was only 2 blocks from the train station and from Market Street. Our room was tiny; we almost couldn't fit our suitcases in the room together, but the bed was comfy which is the main thing. Bathroom was also small but all you need. We didm;t have breakfast there so can't comment on that. The service was great a... Read more

My daughter and I were in transit from Houston to New Zealand and on to Perth in Western Australia. We decided to spend a few day in San Francisco as we have never been there before. At first we were not impressed with the hotel as our room was very small, without ventilation or air conditioning. Our first night was hot and uncomfortable. The following day we were offered a much better room which was air-conditioned and more spacious. I wondered why we couldn't have been given this room in ... Read more

This hotel was just off union square - it was clean and friendly the grab and go breakfast was a little bit comical as many people were trying to get into a tiny room to get breakfast to take back to their room . the hotel rooms were clean and the bed was comfy and quiet the hotel is expanding so the breakfast room issue is being fixed - but well worth staying as the next door Nikko hotel would be 3 x the price

This hotel looks small, but the staff make the difference. From the front desk to reception (Bri and josh) fanatic. This hotel is very close to the cable cars and downtown, which is great. The room is smaller than othes, but very clean and maintained. The breakfast on the 5th is ok and starts the day of well.

We were a little concerned when we arrived at the Fusion Hotel as it looked more like a Hostel than a Hotel. Don't let looks deceive you as the Fusion is a lovely smaller Hotel in a great location. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms are very comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and in room safe. The communal breakfast room is a little on the small side but more than adequate to start the day. One of the bes... Read more

We stayed here on our honeymoon in a large King room on the 5th floor (stay there if you can as other rooms in SF tend to be tiny). It had been recently recarpeted and renovated and was very clean and modern. Free continental breakfast was all we needed before heading out. Union square is so close and we walked everywhere and caught the cable cars. Great location and good hotel, would stay there again.

This hotel is centrally located in San Francisco. It's appears clean and tidy. There is a disco downstairs, so at weekends it can be noisy. Also, there appears to be a lot of homeless in the area, so for female travelers it may feel unsafe at night time. The hotel rooms are clean but basic. I was part of a party of 3 adults. I slept on a bed which served as a sofa also, which was uncomfortable. The rooms are small but if you are not spending a lot of time in your room then this is okay. We ha... Read more

We went for a basic room and it was basic. Had a not nice smell at first in the room. The bed was so close to the wall with a wooden base that I left with bruised and scrapped shins. Hardly any storage. Bathroom dated and didn't smell that great. Just overall felt tired and dated and not value compared to NY and Vegas hotels that we also stayed in. Absolutely no view. AC unit very noisy so had to switch off at night. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location ok. Right by the cable car and Market... Read more

I need to preface this review by saying I need my AC, and did request a room with AC (not guaranteed) but didn't get one. So I think that disappointment may have jaded everything else. But I did love the location and ease to Powell Bart station. If you want a very safe neighborhood, this may not be for you. We were safe, but constantly approached by homeless and druggies. There were lots of restaurants and fast food places nearby. There's a two story Walgreens around the corner that has l... Read more

Location: Ideal - central to Union Square, easy to reach the tour busses and cable cars for Fishermans Wharf/Alcatraz/Golden Gate Bridge... Everything you need is very close (Walgreens, great food, etc.). The rooms were clean and fine and had everyone one would expect from a good hotel. There were multiple air conditioner units outside the window . The positives : the hotel is conveniently located a few blocks from Union Square, Westfield mall, Market street and Cable car turn around. Staff is friendly, helpful and there is complementary take away (to your room) breakfast. The negatives : our room was too small, dark with just a window, the air conditioning was too noisy. The hotel is in need of a facelift.

Our stay was quick but cozy and very pleasant. The staff was truly helpful and kind. The room was a great king deluxe, newly updated and fresh. We even got a little coffee and breakfast snack which was a nice perk. Great location, nice people, affordable. Recommend it, and I would stay again. No parking but a garage half a block down for 30 bucks instead of 55.

This is perfect for visiting the shopping area Union Square. Big room, free (and fast wifi). Helpfull staff. Close to public transportation and shops/ restaurants. Comfy bed and lots of pillows. Clean room, and minibar/safe. Free toiletries in the bathroom. A bit of a weird smell in the room, but not a big problem. Too bad they discontinued the continental breakfast (3 weeks ago) When we booked, it said breakfast was included in the price. It is not.

PROS: The location of this hotel is great! You are close to Union Square and the Cable Car turnaround. If you don't mind walking, you are able to get to several areas of the city on foot as well. Lots of restaurant choices as well. We were a little nervous about the size of the room based on reading the reviews, but our room was fine. Nothing fancy, but clean and met our needs. Overall, Hotel Fusion was OK. This was not my first choice but my preferred hotels were sold out so I gave Hotel Fusion a shot. The location is good and right near one of my favorite bars (Mikkeller). The rooms are spacious but have a weird layout and didn't seem super clean. I stayed in a residential twin room (room 527). It did not face the street and was very quiet. It was clean and spacious. The staff were nice and friendly. The WI-FI worked very well. The hotel is a short walk away from the Powell St. MUNI and BART station, which was very convenient. The only thing I wasn't too happy with was the free breakfast. There wasn't as much of a selection as comparable hotels I've stayed at. Overall, my experience was good and I would consider staying again.

Toured San Francisco a couple of days after a work trip. Very overpriced area. Tiny room, good clean bathroom, plenty of room for bed and wardrobe and one chair. Nice tv. Secure with cameras in the hallways, card required for elevators, keypad for stairs, and security deposit at check in. Service okay. .. unaware there was a coffee area until checkout. No promotion for attached club. Decent stay but too expensive. Good area for walking to stores, food, bars, etc.

Even at a rack rate I don't feel this hotel was worth $239 a night. Add to that approximately $55 in tax and $50 or $60 to park. The concierge greeted us warmly, and offered his services. The gentleman at the front desk was not welcoming. He did not exactly seem put out, just wasn't interested in welcoming us warmly.
