Saha Restaurant
Yemenese and California cuisine, the name means "to good health," and the restaurant strives to use the freshest ingredients including organic when possible. The breakfast menu puts a delicious spin on traditional American fare, allowing guests to "spice up" conventional egg dishes. The dinner menu focuses on flavors from the Middle East, France, and Spain, fusing styles of cooking and flavors from around the world. The restaurant's ebony-wood planked floor, red lacquer seats and leather upholstery, along with an old-world Chinese "scholar's table" that seats eight, bring friends and families together to share the adventures of the day.

"Can't find the booking i.d., but put reservation number.

I love this place. I'm a mid-sixties, quiet, usually single traveler. the Carlton is just funky enough and diverse enough to be fun and comfortable. Clean room and bathroom. I've stayed here about three times. Friendly service.

Restaurant on first floor is delicious and unusual.

I get a 'quiet' room (as opposed to a view room, less street noise) but you can still hear noisy people through the suite door. Last weekend I merely tapped on the door and asked the 3 occupants to keep their voices down, as sound travels through and under the door. They complied, and the rest was easy.

To downtown, Union Square, there's about 2 blocks of a slight incline, and the rest is all downhill, an easy and enjoyable walk. At corner Polk and Sutter (1 block) there's a terrific, down-home Moroccan place for a thick, nourishing bowl of harira, and fresh mint tea, and all kinds of good plates of lamb, hummus, etc.

Young travelers, in small and large groups sometimes. Free wine service in the lobby each afternoon. Just leave a tip.

"Cute hotel but no room service, no mini fridge if you have children, no microwave, nothing. Just a bed, a dresser, a bigger closet than the bathroom and a bathroom. I think I would've found a better accomadating hotel for the price. But, the employees are nicer than nice :) just would stay somewhere else the next time."

"Overall/ Very average/. Construction of building across street from room combined with room being across hall from elevators should have been something the staff should have taken care of. Additionally, there really is no concierge. The rooms have thin walls and old doors. Value is not good for overall experience or neighborhood. I'd recommend staying elsewhere."

"I think the hotel is overal good, but I would prefer to stay either nearer to the shopping areas or Fisherman's wharf the next time.

Place is also close to the Tenderloin, so make sure you know where not to go."

"Great little hotel. The building is very old but was well maintained and cleaned. We had some difficulties with the wifi the night we were staying but we there to do other things not be on line so not a huge problem for us. We were traveling with my in-laws and even though I forgot to request it, the hotel got us adjoining rooms with no extra cost. All the staff we friendly and helpful. The bell hop was just the best. He gave my 1.5 year old toddler and blow up globe which was awesome because we forgot his toy cars but he loved it and it kept him busy. Walls are thin, old hotel, but we all slept soundly and had no real noise problems. Rooms are a good size, the room with the king gave up enough space to put up my sons travel bed. The two double bed room did not have enough space however. The restaurant in the hotel is amazing for dinner. It is an arabic fusion place, the best lamb and the bests dessert my husband and I have ever had. I don't like lamb, but theirs was good. And the pyramid dessert was simply amazing. Breakfast however was terrible, I think a different crew, but did not taste good and terrible service so I recommend skipping that. Overall, excellent hotel. Couple blocks north of tenderloin district in lower nob hill so area felt fine, just walk to the other districts. Really enjoyed our stay, would easily go back again."

"Just let me start by saying that I have stayed at this Hotel 6 or 7 times in the past and this past weekend was just as terrific as all the rest. The staff amazes me every time with how accommodating they are. We are always remembered and the service is fabulous. If we need anything from the staff, they always have it to the room within a few minutes. The wine reception is a nice time of the evening to enjoy the company of the people that you are traveling with or even meeting new friends from far off places and Theo plays his keyboard most every night at this time. It feels as if you are returning home every time you enter the hotel!"
