Not sure where to start... Booked three nights on points. As a spire member you are elegible for upgrades upon availability. I was inquiring about a suite or corner room with a little more space. The person at check in did not understand the IHG program and was not sure what spire status was. I tried explaining the status tiers and how I had earned spire based on my loyalty to IHG.. She seemed confused and mentioned that I was already upgraded to a king bed, when this is the room type in my ... Read more

I've never had a bad experience with Holiday Inns, either the bigger out of town ones or the inner city ones such as this Express. It was very clean, well located and the staff were nice and friendly (as everyone in San Francisco was!). There's plenty of places you can get to on foot near this hotel, including public transport, buses, trams, the cable car stops nearby too. I hope to return to San Francisco one day and I'd definitely stay here again. The rooms are a fair bit smaller than you'... Read more

Perfect location. This newly completely rennovated hotel had clean, beautiful rooms and large bathroom. Service was excellent - I was offered a late check-out and staff went out of their way to make sure that everything was done well. Easy walk to Union Square, Nordstorm-Bloomingdales, cable cars and other attractions. Price was great and included free breakfast and Wi-Fi.

Booked a four night stay for Bay to Breakers weekend. Front desk was both friendly and efficient . The hotel is very new, bright and clean. Rooms tend towards small but have everything one needs. Bathrooms are well done, and the step in showers are a plus vs. having to step over a tub, and deal with a shower curtain. The breakfast is typical Holiday Inn express offerings. It's kept refilled . The dining area is small and fills up fast, but did not seem to be a big problem over the weekend.... Read more

Great hotel. Very new, clean, and convenient. The front desk attendants were extremely helpful and resourceful. The only disadvantage was the parking. We used valet parking as the self park was inconvenient. Valet parking $55 per night.

The hotel is not luxurious, but staying there definitely exceeded my expectation. The room was immaculate, large, and the bed was very comfortable. As others have mentioned, you can hear some music from the pub downstairs, but it wasn't annoying at all in my opinion. The pub actually got good reviews, although I didn't get the chance to try it as there were so much dining and drinking options in the neighbourhood. Basic breakfast was included, typical Holiday Inn Express standard breakfast and ... Read more

While I don't believe there is such as thing as a "bargain" hotel in downtown San Francisco, this hotel was a good bit less expensive than nearby branded hotels and very, very nice. It is new and everything is renovated so the staff must be on top of things and they were very professional and friendly. The location is great right off of Union Square. My expectations were pretty low for my stay here and I couldn't have been more wrong. The hotel is either new or recently refurbished and my room was smart, spotless and really rather lovely. The reception team were excellent and accommodating too. You won't get a cheap room or a big room in SFO without paying a lot, but I got much better value than I expected. The bed is superb .. I'd have it at home. There's no in-house restaurant or breakfast option as befits the Express brand, but there... Read more

Perfect location, just minutes from Union square, with the cable car just around the corner. A relatively new hotel with friendly and helpful reception staff. Breakfast is basic but adequate. There is a business area and small workout area. Does what it says on the tin. The only slight problem was that we returned to our room at 4pm and it hasn't been cleaned yet. Room is a good size and the bathroom is excellent. Both very clean.

This new hotel is only a block or so away from Union Square and all the other restaurants and activities in central San Francisco. I was impressed by the size of the room and nice styling of rooms and hallways. The breakfast was basic, but made for a good start to the day - and you have lots of options just out the door should you want to eat something different. Staff was helpful and accommodating too. Would stay again if coming to SF.

We had a wonderful experience at the Holiday Inn Express. GREAT location!!! Close to Trolley's, restaurants, shopping. I liked that there was a Walgreen's very close for snacks, water, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel has been completely refurbished and is modern and inviting. It was clean and very well kept. The breakfast was great. I don't know of many hotels in this area that offer free breakfast. Can't say enough about this great place. I would highly recommend this place.
