I have stayed at this hotel many times. It's location is great, a short walk to Pier 39 and public transportation to downtown San Francisco, and the breakfast is much more than adequate, including eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereals, waffles, etc. The rooms are nicely appointed, comfortable, quiet, and very clean. On the downside, on two occasions no maid service was provided (the head housekeeper's fault), I was promised information about public transportation which was never followed th... Read more

This is a really nice hotel in a convenient location to Fisherman's Wharf and the cable cars. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The view left a lot to be desired as our view was looking into another room about 20 ft. away. The breakfast was really good, but crowded. My only complaint with this hotel is there are only 2 elevators.

There are few hotels in the area with a great location with close proximity to rental cars, tour buses, Ghiradelli, streetcars, restaurants, and mainly The Fisherman's Wharf area like this one has. We didn't need a car because everything was within walking distance. The nice thing was the hotel was close enough that we could pop back into the hotel in the middle of the afternoon. The views were not very good because we were not on the oceanside but that really didn't matter because we were there... Read more

I have never encountered any stuff in any hotel with such bad attitude. When I checked in in the afternoon, the guy at the front desk greet me with a cold face and when I tried to explain my reservation, he didn't even look at me. I tried to get directions to China town from the lady the next day, she pointed me to the Italy area..... I double confirmed the street names with her before I got the uber. Room very tiny but very quite. I heard very little hall traffic and absolutely no neighbor noise. Very clean, appears to have new carpet. Plentiful breakfast, lots of seating and morning TV. Nice undercover driveway for drop off and pickup. Garage parking looks to be $50-$60 a night, we didn't park but I read the valet signs. This hotel is with-in walking distance to everything on Fisherman's Wharf. Check-in was a breeze and the young man at the counter was very effencent and told us of places to avoid and what places to go to. The breakfast was not made to order but had plenty of selections and had 2 sides so there was no waiting for food or tables. As soon as someone got up, an attendent would rush over and clean off the table. Room were OK but spent very little time in it. Express check-out was nice. My only pro... Read more

This time in SF I wanted to be right near the touristy things with my teens. This hotel is perfect - pretty pricey but we splurged and got a suite which was incredibly spacious for a city hotel. Front desk held our luggage since we arrived early. Beware - there are three holiday inns nearby and our taxi took us to the wrong one.

The good: - Comfortable rooms - Friendly staff (Especially Mandy) - GREAT location! (Just a block away from Fisherman's Wharf) The Bad: - $58 a day for (mandatory) valet parking. I understand parking is at a premium in SF, but $58 a day ($52 + taxes) is just excessive. There is other parking available at lower rates near the hotel, (I think $25 - $40 a day), so I advise doing some research into this before driving here. Other than that, I highly recommend this hotel!

Mattresses had ridges of MANY people sleeping there and very small pillows; like pieces of foam thrown in a bag. Rooms weren't ready at 3 pm check in-busy time in summer. Expensive valet parking; but, the workers were friendly. Free breakfast was good and plenty of room in dining area. The security on elevators and vending machine/ice machine room was reassuring; uses your room key. Prime location- around the block from Fishermans Wharf- the nicest area in San Fran. Hotel is clean, basic but good for a budget. Comfortable beds- shower/bath in room. Breakfast was included again basic but substantial. The area is safe and great to explore. We did the hop on/ off bus, Alcatraz and whale watching tour (be aware rough sea!). This ia fairly standard Holiday Inn Express. We had a room on the 4th floor and could see Alcatraz when the fog was not out. Rooms were clean, Free breakfast was so-so -- again pretty standard. Seemed to be very child friendly place. I had no issue with the hotel -- but I was there in July and the Fisherman's Wharf area is jammed with tourists. But -- it is easy to get transportation to other parts of the city from there. If you want to stay in that area -- this is a good choice.

We have traveled to SF many times and finally found our place a few years back. The staff are fantastic, the morning breakfast helps if your in a hurry(and is actually really good). Location, a block from 1 cable care, the Wharf around the corner and Ghiradelli a stones through. The absolute best for the money on the Wharf, & the Hollywood Cafe is next door.

If you like pub food there is a pub right behind hotel also. Cable cars a block away. Enjoy

This was the largest Holiday Inn Express I had ever stayed in. The accommodation was very nice and the hotel staff very pleasant. I was more impressed with their breakfast than any other same chain hotel - they had real pork sausage and full strength or age juice - most others in this chain where I have stayed have switch turkey sausage and very diluted orange juice. So a better breakfast than typical for this chain m was a very nice surprise.
