I am in SF for the Apple WWDC so the location is good from that point of view. However the first thing I see when getting off the BART into the street is a junkie shooting something up his arm. Breakfast places outside the hotel are scarce and a BK seems to be the best choice. They have good coffee though. Room prices are outrageous considering the location. Only a few blocks to the west junkie territory seem to end. To be fair the hotel is no worse than other Holiday Inn hotels I have stayed i... Read more

The good thing about this hotal is it's easy access from the airport. It was our first trip to San Francisco and we were concerned about getting to the hotel. However it was easy. We took the bart train from the airport to the civic centre and the hotel is just a few minutes work from civic center station. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful . They have a travel desk so you can ask how to get to places and even book excursions there. The buffet breakfast seemed the same each day but y... Read more

We sleep here alot due to my husband work. It is a great hotel with comfy beds and all you need but can do with a microwave in the rooms and bar fridge. Rather not look at the back of the curtains as it is black with dust. Pool area is ok but needs some shade or umbrellas. Breakfast is average as well but good and friendly staff that goes beyond to help you and make you happy.

We stayed at this hotel for a family holiday travelling all through the US. We arrived late at night from New York, tired and a little frustrated. The staff immediately made us feel welcome. Check in was quick and effortless. We got an upgrade for all rooms (3). The hotel is conveniently located near Market Street. Shops are within walking distance but it is very easy to take a cable car just around the corner. When we left we had rented a car. The hotel parking is very convenient and we'll pr... Read more

The hotel itself was fine - and I was impressed that I could get a room a little cheaper than union square that had a pool. Unfortunately, SF is a little too chilly to make use of the pool. And even more unfortunate, this hotel is located in a horrible, horrible spot. We tried to walk to a 5 star breakfast spot nearby, and the 7 minute walk was completely terrifying. People actively on drugs on every corner within a 3-4 block radius. Do yourself a favor, and pay the extra money for a hotel in Un... Read more

We have stayed at this location in the past. It is centrally located, close to the BART, and many areas of SF. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and clean. I would have liked a refrigerator in the room. The only complaint I have is housekeeping kept turning our thermostat down to 65! Lol.

The hotel itself was what you would expect from a holiday inn, clean beds, easy check-in , friendly staff etc. The lobby was bright and modern and was very inviting however the rooms were a little dated but we didn't mind too much. Only problem would be the hallways obviously hadn't been vacuumed as it was very messy. Overall a solid budget hotel. Now onto the most important aspect ,the area! During the day there were a lot of homeless people but you didn't notice them as much as the area was b... Read more

Overall we were pleased with this hotel. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was good as was the service. Catherine was our waitress each morning and was a joy! As far as the area goes, we never felt unsafe nor were we ever approached or bothered by the homeless people. My son(adult) and I did go out one evening and we were fine. This general area is not very clean or "nice" but the only time we spent here was to sleep, shower and eat breakfast. It is reasona... Read more

Hotel is very dated and in an unsafe part of town. My room had a "traveler safety tips" card in the room that was alarming. The staff told me on checking that I should not go out alone after dark. Very concerning.

The hotel is fine but the location is in an area with many homeless people with severe mental health and/or addiction issues. We saw one man injecting into his bleeding arm when living the hotel one morning.

The restaurant has a very very limited menu. Takes forever to get hot water, hallways smell of fish in the evening, you want a mini fridge you have to pay extra, no microwave, but they give you free slippers. The ice machine has been broken for 3 days and the hall carpet has not been vacuumed for at least 3 days. This Holiday Inn is a major disappointment.

We were put here for 1 night when we arrived in San Fran and set off to Visitors Centre to purchase our 3 day travel pass as advised but the lady checking us in. This was duff information as you can buy them at any Walgreen pharmacy too and the visitors centre was shut when we got there. The route into the centre is literally packed with homeless people, people with mental health issues and a very strong smell of pot everywhere. We openly witnessed drugs being handed over and felt very intimida... Read more

I stayed here as it was a half block from where I was working. The room was clean and comfortable. The fitness center fit my needs (elliptical and bike for me, plus a couple of treadmills). Keurig in room with green tea and coffees. Convenient location, quick walk to cable cars and right near market so easy access to trolleys\buses. Only a block from the BART too so easy access when I came from the airport. I do have to say, a couple of years ago I had a coworker that had to take up residence he... Read more

Could not find a hotel, that could accommodate a group of 8 for a semi reasonable cost. Two nights per person cost us $479. Lobby, bar and restaurant we nice, $22 for the breakfast buffet, $7 for a bottle of fat tire. Room was well used, had some mold in the shower, trash cans dirty, bed was comfy, good pillows, no business desk, small round table, had a couch in the room. Room looked out over a alley, very noisy after midnight, sounded like someone was banging trash cans every so often until... Read more

Don't stay here, currently here for Dreamforce, hotel decor - industrial. Went to the bar for a snack and a drink, was told I had to get waiter to order food as the bartender was not allowed to order food even though I am sitting on a bar stool at the bar. Followed their bazaar rules - ordered a Margarita/Basil pizza from the waiter only to send it back as it was the worst ever, just dough with cheese still looking for the basil. If they try to give you a room on the 4th floor refuse it, its th... Read more

I had stayed in Holiday Inn for a week on my business trip. The rooms are clean, spacious with good interiors. All the rooms had full length windows which added to the ambience. The walls between the rooms are not fully insulated which was a setback. Room service was good. The road where this hotel was in was a bit isolated with homeless people roaming in the street corners.

We stayed here recently while we attended the Sales Force Conference and then spent a few days exploring the Bay Area. The hotel was quite clean and everything worked well in our room. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. The location made it quite convenient for us. Only thing we would have liked was to have the bar open in the afternoon. Had to leave the property since it did not open until dinner. Would stay here again and recommend to all.

The hotel location is in downtown but not quite centrally located and the hotel surrounding is a bit dark and not clean. The rooms are reasonably nice and the service is good. Not value for money for the things that we get.

Me and my buddy booked a room here becuase we were going to a concert at Bill graham civic center. I liked that it was within walking distance to the venue. The room was nice we stayed on the 11th floor hoping to get a view but there was very little to see from our window the staff was very friendly at check in and the lobby and bar area were very nice as well. Parking was about 42 buck but that's expected in the city although they did not offer valet parking at this hotel.the downside to me was... Read more
