Fantastic location! It's more in Chinatown than the Financial District, in my opinion. There are countless restaurants within very short walking distance of the hotel, many of which are obviously Asian cuisine, but if that's not what you're in the mood for there are other great options as well. We had both Italian and Indian very near the hotel, and both were delicious. I have to specifically recommend a Chinese bakery one street over on Jackson though, called Yummy Bakery. this is the first time I have stayed at this location, which is in the financial district but very close to china town and just around the block is little Italy. Very clean location and easy to walk to Ghiradelli square. The hotel staff is very friendly and Erika H was very accommodating, gave us an upgrade to a King size Bed and also met our accommodating needs! I recommend this hotel.

Loved the location (next to China Town) and within walking distance to everything. The first room they gave us was on floor 11 which is under construction so if you are staying there anytime soon try and avoid this floor. We moved to the 18th floor with a great view of Coit Tower and the Bay so that was a win win. However I paid for two nights in advance through Priceline.com. I charged $18 to my room at the hotel bar. Upon checkout I signed my invoice for $18 and left. When checking my CC... Read more

I have stayed in this hotel frequently over the past 10 months or so. It's ok, nothing special considering it's a Hilton. The thing I take exception to in this hotel is the room cleanliness. I have spoken to guest services about this repeatedly yet on visit after visit the feedback does not seem to be taken on board. Every time I have got to my room (and I stay at least once a month) there are long black hairs everywhere. In the bedding, on the floor, in the bath, on the shower curtain, in the... Read more

I booked the Hilton in SF for a single night to celebrate my birthday with my family. Upon arrival, Michael Kober (Front Desk Agent) recognized that it was actually my birthday, and provided both a room upgrade and a bottle of champagne to celebrate the occasion. This was an unexpected start to my day, and it made the rest of our visit that much more enjoyable. He also provided excellent recommendations and directions for both local food and entertainment. We have stayed here three separate times in the last 7 days! Although I always enjoy the Hilton properties, this particular Hilton goes above and beyond providing impeccable service. Felipe in the Executive Lounge is AMAZING!! He makes us feel like we are royalty and is SO accommodating in anything we may need and he anticipates what we need in advance. Joe and John and Gemma made checking in a breeze. The John made sure I could find the SF Giants game on the TV. The views are exactly what... Read more

I stayed here one night for business. I am a Diamond member and stay at Hilton properties 40-50 nights a year. I originally booked a room and checked-in online and selected a room on the 26th floor at the end of the hallway. Unfortunately this room had a very small window and was dank. After seeing the room I called down to the front desk to see if they could move me to a different room. They said the hotel was completely booked and they couldn't help me. Quite a good location, though neighborhoods near by are a bit dicey. My room was fine, but nothing special. The shower did not get very hot and the room in general showed some signs of aging. Breakfast was reasonable. Again, it was fine, just nothing too great.

We booked this at the last minute and got quite a cheap rate, so I was expecting it to be a below average hotel for the price we got and was pleasantly surprised. The main entrance and foyer are bright and modern. Rooms were a little dated but still clean and had everything we needed. Hotel is in a central location right in Chinatown, so it was convenient to get around the city! Overall, great value for money in SF!

The rooms are small but appropriately furnished. The bathroom miniscule. We took a room with a Bay view on the 26th floor with Executive Lounge privileges. The lounge was worth it. Waiting for elevators is not fun. The loud music on the elevator is terrible. But the location was very good for what we wanted.

After years of Diamond membership, and years at Gold before that, I'm still astounded at the variation in quality between hotels of the same brand. The Hilton Athens and Hilton Singapore would be two of the better. The Hilton San Francisco is at the other end of the scale. We arrived for check-in at 1400, to be told our rooms weren't quite ready. No problem, we left our bags and our cellphone number and went to get some dim sum lunch in nearby Chinatown. The concierge working the lounge for breakfast, Arezki, was amazing. Very attentive and inviting. He made our family trip all the more enjoyable. This Hotel is clean but our room was super tiny, during our hotel we stay in nearly 10 hotels and this was the highest priced hotel with the smallest room. I would not recommend staying here, simply because the downtown area is not the most attractive place and the rooms really are tiny. If the hotel prices were lower, I may recommend it. plus the car parking here is ridiculously high too!! We've been to San Francisco many times, and have favored hotels near Union Square, feeling that was pretty central. This time we selected the Hilton near the Financial District, (which one cab driver called the Chinatown Hilton) and it was a delightful surprise. We arrived a little early and the supervisor who helped us was apologetic that he couldn't get us into a room immediately, but checked us in so all we had to do was pick up a key when we came back. There is nothing attractive about the area, though it's convenient to places such as SFMOMA and even Fisherman's Wharf is only a half hour walk. The rooms are generic. The beds are nice; the shower pressure weak; the worst WiFi reception I have experienced in a hotel in recent years. Even e mails wouldn't load! Maybe they want you to buy faster internet for $9.95 a day.

The location is excellent, close to shopping, dining and tourism areas. The lobby of the hotel is quite nice and modern. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms really need some updating. They are spacious and comfortable, although in a very 1990's style. Housekeeping does a nice job. Only dissapointment was a lack of any special treatment or recognition as a Gold member. I was preassigned what is arguably the worst room on the floor, xx25. It is much smaller than a regular ... Read more

Pros- good location, great views from higher floors, excellent breakfast buffet, nice Executive lounge, nice servers in breakfast room. Plenty of free computers in the lobby. Cons- Very small rooms, bathrooms so small that you can barely turn around, towels not clean on several occasions, public spaces could use some work. Beautiful views from high up but Windows so dirty that the view is clouded. There are better choices.

Good location. Good concierge. Housekeeping was effective, and evening turn down service when requested was obliging. Replacement of towels etc done with a smile. The rooms are spacious. We were on the executive floor. 27th floor. Afforded spanning view of the bay. Light house. Alcatraz. A portion of the bay bridge on the right corner And just short of the view of the golden gate on the left side. Used uber mostly. But there's a bus stop just outside the hotel. There are obviously several dozen hotel choices in SF North of Market St. However, the decision to stay here every time I'm in town for business (at least three months a year), is made incredibly easy thanks to the great front desk service. Specifically, Evelyn (who works mornings/days) and Eric (afternoons/evenings) areu always extremely kind, professional, and helpful during all my stays. I stayed on the executive level, so I was able to use the Lounge every day. The staff were very helpful. My room was clean and well furnished. The outside of my window was not very clear (dirty), but my view was not obstructed. I loved having a very large desk, as I was there to work and train. During our last day of training, I took a break to check out. Upon arriving in the lobby, I was dismayed to see a large line of travelers (likely checking in). I walked up to the manager's desk (at... Read more

Well located with easy walkable access to ares of SFO. Ugly 60's/70's Tower Block building downtown. Very large hotel. Reception large and airy and well maintained. Only 4 lifts (elevators!) which are always busy and are used by service staff too which is poor. Long waits. Premium floor room was spacious and functional. Bed was comfy. Diamond for 15 years, lifetime status, HGV owner, disappointed. This was truly an average Hilton in a location that should be a standard bearer. The staff seemed like work was a chore. The windows were WAY overdue for a scrub. The room "upgrade" was smaller than a standard room at a Fairfield Inn. No free water in the rooms and they ran out in the lounge, so hiking back and forth was an annoyance. In/out parking is $50/day. This experience was the epitome of why SPG eats HH for lunch every day.

The concierge, Joel, was the only person that treated my mom and I with respect. He was friendly, personable, and made sure we understood directions since we were new to the city. The other staff including the front desk seemed annoyed when we checked in, gave us wrong information about our winery tour, and "didn't know why the wine bar was closed since the employee was supposed to be working." I enjoyed our stay, although we experienced a few hiccups. First, I had ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and when we arrived in the room, a much different, and lesser quality wine was awaiting us. When I called guest services, it took them almost 20 - 30 minutes to get the correct sparkling wine. This in turn made us late to a dinner reservation, and we were not able to relax and enjoy the wine. The hotel is located right on the edge of Chinatown and the decor reflects that. Our room was neat and the bathroom very clean. Overall the staff members were helpful and friendly. Except for the valet. Valet service is out rages sleep priced at $60 per day plus taxes and fees. Using the term service is quite a loose use of the word. The hotel is looking somewhat tired and out-dated. The facilities and rooms are in need of a make-over and upgrade.
