"The location wasn't exactly what I expected, but still, it was pretty handy.
The hotel itself is good enough for staying for a week.
The price also was pretty good.
II was assigned a room with no refrigerator.
II asked if I can get another room with it, and they brought one into my room the other day.
Overall, it was a good experience.

"Let's face it , it's not the Hyatt or the Hilton, but the rooms were really clean and smelled good. I especially lliked the the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided in the shower.
The location was great , a 2 minute walk to Market Street and only three blocks from Union Square. The bus or trolley ride to Fisherman's Wharf was only 20 minutes.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with any question we had. The only thing I did not like was the traffic and noise on 7th St. You heard noise all nite long, we asked for extra pillows to muffle out the sound. That worked pretty good. The area hosts some questionable characters but all seemed quite harmless. Just be aware. Convenient to the Civic Center Bart Station. We took the train from the Airport.
I liked that it is Eco friendly and recently remodeled ( older hotel), would definitely stay again, Found it to be a good value for the price."

"Our stayl was fine and comfortable -- however we felt a bit duped by their website. The rooms are not as nice as they appear on the site and we stayed in the 'courtyard' which is basically a motel -- here we thought we were booking a hotel. Our bathroom had mold in it, there were some strange water spots on the ceiling, and our room was not serviced until 5pm -- when we were back changing/napping. I don't think I would stay there again."

"Hmmm, Let me see...where do I begin???!!!
This was by far THE WORST HOTEL I have EVER stayed at!!!
First off, I get there, and the front desk clerk tells me that it is $25 a night to park my car at the hotel per night. Then, we get to our room, I feel like I am in a fun house or something, because the floor is SOOO SLANTED, that when you lay on the bed, it feels as if your falling, and that it looks like my laptop is going to fall off of the table!!
I booked a queen room, got a double..and the shower stall is SOOO SMALL that you can BARELY turn around in it!!!
The mattresses at this hotel are SOOOO HARD that sleeping on the floor would be an improvement!!! And the pillows??? ATROCIOUS!!! Plan on waking up with a sore back and a stiff neck!!!
The street noise is soooo bad, don't plan on getting to sleep without drowning the noise out with the TV on all night.
NO AIR CONDITIONING so you have to sleep with the windows open if you don't want to suffocate!!! AND 3 of the 4 windows in the room are nailed shut for some reason, and the only window that is open is only made to open 6 inches!!!!
The ceiling fans make SOOOO MUCH noise, that you will want to shoot yourself in the head because the noise will drive you INSANE!!!
To top it all off, !!
If this revue isn't enough to scare you away, I don't know what is!!!
WORST HOTEL EVER!!!! FFF---

"Night staff very nice and helpful. Morning staff neither friendly nor helpful. Let me stand there a long time while organizing bags without even acknowledgiing I was there. I finally had to ask to check out as I was late for a meeting. At which point he reluctantly and grudgingly checked me out. This hotel is LOUD, I was on first floor, could hear every step the people on second floor took as well as all parking lot noise. I got very little sleep."

"The Good Hotel took a little bit of getting used to - our room was very small - but efficient. The fan on the ceiling was nice because the window didn't open too far and it was hot in the room when we arrived. Everything was great until the morning we were checking out and found a roach crawling from the bathroom into the bedroom. ew. We couldn't check out fast enough- which was also a labored process because of the lack of staff at the front. I don't hold them responsible for the roaches - but just an FYI to watch your room."

"I essentially got a $65 parking ticket because of this hotel. The hotel itself is fine, nothing's wrong with it. I've stayed here over the years because it's somewhat central and decent while still being affordable. However, the front desk guy, who I'm pretty sure is the same guy every time I stay, is pretty unfriendly and unhelpful to guests. I asked him if he had any recommendations on where to park because paying $25 a night to park in their lot is ridiculous. He wouldn't give me ANY tips, just kept saying 'read the signs'. Yeah, I know to read the signs. Anything else??? Anyway, I parked off Howard and 7th, a block down, because I READ THE SIGN and it said 'No parking Street Cleaning M W F'. We parked on Friday night, went out all day Saturday on foot, and came back from a great day to a ticket on my car, ON SATURDAY, even though the sign said it was okay to park. Turns out there is a tiny sign ON THE METER ITSELF saying 'meters enforced 7am - 6pm MON - SUN'. Why would I look inside the meter itself when I'm parking??? I'm just gonna look at the sign, assume it's cool, and leave my car. SF is the only city I know that does this dirty thing. I'm from LA and they would never do that there. Needless to say, it's not directly the hotel's fault, but the guy could have been a LOT more helpful to a paying guest. Consider this a word of warning if you're planning on staying here."

"Good location and helpful staff. Need to replace all worn-out towels. Given the fact tat it is an older hotel, it cannot get ride of the floor creaking noise from upstairs. The worst noise comes from the heater when I turn on the old fashioned heater. The loud noise will go on for a while. You also hear hotel staff working early in the morning running machines. The sound insulation is definitely a problem for me. "

"I strongly recommend the Good Hotel in San Francisco. The area is not great but it is within walking distance of lots of touristic spots or even conference sites (I traveled to SF for a conference). It is also easily accessible from the airport by metro. The hotel atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and clean, and decorated with simplicity but good taste. The only problem I experienced was the noise: it was too warm inside so I had to keep a window open, and morning traffic woke me up too early every day."

"Very disappointing experience, staff members are unfriendly, no lobby rest room you must go across the street to the sister hotel, noticible carpet stains of unknown origin in the room, bed covers were also stained, did not dare get into bed. Night staff was borderline hostile, several guests expressed disappointment with the accomodations. It's apparent that the operaters of the hotel are following the 'Lip Stick on a Pig' model...they are not fooling anybody. "

"Great stay! Friendly staff and I swear I felt like I was at Ikea. Such an eco-friendly hotel. It was very clean which is what I look for and it was not far from all the tourist spots. The one thing they need is better blankets! It was a bit cold. The price was super cheap! The parking was half off. This hotel served its purpose. I went to get a away for the weekend and I did just that."

"This hotel has the 2 most important things to me, location and cleanliness. Its just 2 blocks from the BART/Muni bus and train/cable cars, etc. There are homeless around but even near the nicest of hotels in SF there will be. The hotel is on the very busy 7th street so even late at night, I really wasnt worried, then again Im from NYC.
It takes getting used to the 'green' way of the hotel but worth it if youre not looking for anything fancy. They conserve energy by having timed and motion sensored lights and ceiling fans, figure out how they work so the lights dont come on at night when you move around. Since the fans also shut off we would come back to a hot room even though it was only about 60 during the day, it must feel horrid during the summer. Shower stall is very small and water pressure is low, you will get a kick out of the toilet.
We had the worst people staying in the room above us. Sounded like they were wrestling or jumping off the bed at 4am so we called the front desk. They sent security and they were silent the rest of the night. Front desk called back and said if they made more noise to call back and they will kick them out, they have a strict policy when you check in.
Everyone at the desk was very polite, everything was clean and location was fantastic. Like I said, not fancy but it worked."

"My husband & I had several engagements in the city, so we decided to spend a couple of nights at a reasonably priced hotel. Found a good deal here, & was over-all pretty satisfied w/ everything. We had requested a top floor w/ our reservation, & they were very accomodating in changing things around to meet our needs. Only drawback is the small parking lot; & when it fills up (which it inevitably will, since it's a 5-story hotel!), you have to park in the hotel parking lot across the street, which is valet parking (& the valet left our inside light on in our car!). Look out for loud neighbors, though--I guess being a reasonably priced hotel, some people think that allows them to party all night long, which our neighbors did both nights we were there."

"I REALLY wanted to love the GOOD HOTEL, sadly I loathe the hotel. It should just have an underlining label-THE DIRTY or CHEAP HOTEL. I wanted to love it for being green, affordable, great location and for being modern. Their version of being Green is just not cleaning the rooms,
We arranged for a birthday weekend for my boyfriend in SF from Long Beach. We brought 6 others with us and we all agreed to stay at the Good Hotel based on it being green, close to the Bart and the price. I wanted to stay at the Americana across the street but was out numbered so I deceived to do my best to embrace what the GH had to offer. We paid for our Hotel and Flight and was only expecting to pay for incidentals at the hotel. Upon check in, the front desk seemed to be in Zombie mode. We waited in a line to check in for what seemed like an hour. The clerk never looked up to let us know how long we will need to wait to check in. Once we finally got to the front of the line, he asked for my ID and proceeded to stare down at his computer. No Hello, Welcome, CSorry for the wait, I thought it was fine as long as he checks me in and gets me into our room. Well, he gave me a piece of paper to sign that stated what my rate was. I explained to him that I pre-paid for our rooms.OH, ok he stated and stared down at his computer for several more minutes. Finally had me sign a form that stated I pre-paid, took my DEBIT card for incidentals. Done, headed to the room!
We check in to find that the room is small but that's fine. We instantly noticed the only chair we had was covered in large stains, the stains that come from liquid water, I hope. I called the front desk to see about getting a cleaner room but no one answered. We were late for a reservation so I decided to live with it and to see about getting another room for the next day.
We went on with our evening and everyone in our group had their own complaints about their rooms that we chatted about over dinner. I was so embarrassed that my friends were now forced to deal with their rooms as I know I was going to have to.
The next day I checked my bank account to discover that I had been charged for my room from the Good Hotel. Note, I had pre-paid for the three night stay. I bought it to the front desks attention and the attendant looked at my reservation and said, Yes, you are right, sorry, you'll have to wait 5-10 business days for it to be reversed.
I can tolerate the dirty and cramped room and the not-so great location, the lack of customer services that the Good Hotel offers will deter me from staying there again or recommending it.

"Absolutely hated this hotel. No small refrigerator, microwave or anything in the room. There's not even a microwave in the main lobby area. Rooms are small, and nothing like thier pictures. They have a sink on the back of their toilet for you to wash your hands...really??? It's eco friendly.
The bums sleep on the SF Federal Building steps and all you hear all night long is screaming and yelling. There are alot better places to stay in San Fran than this joint."

"I stayed here for 2 nights while I was in town for business. Overall the hotel was clean and in a very good location. It was within walking distance of popular areas of the city. The only thing I didn't like was it seemed like the walls were very thin. If someone moved or closed a door in the rooms next to me, I felt it. If you have a family or are traveling with your significant other it might be something to consider."

"This 'hotel' is great for people who are very eco-conscious. The toilets have a sink to wash your hands in, everything is recycled, no useless plastic bottles for shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. I loved the scent of the shower gel/shampoo/conditioner. For a Texas girl though, it was a little too green for me and just not as cozy as a normal hotel. The spigot to wash your hands with on top of the toilet was very wierd to me. Very clean place, but just lacks the amenities that you have at a normal hotel. "
