"We walked into our room and their was a very musty smell combined with an awful overpowering smell of something cooking direcvtly beneath our room. That smell lingered all through the night. The bed pillows were awful. The stuffing inside was matted down and split in the middle of all but one of the four pillows. The pillow cases were very wrinkled and did not look freshly laundered. I must say the the young man at the front desk was very pleasant and professional. The location on the busy corner was not the best and heavy traffic noise could be heard all night long."

"This was the worst hotel ever. If the parking lot is full they will tell you to double park and leave the key to the vehicle. Nowhere does it say that, website, office or anything. They don't even mention it to you when you check in. When you complain about it they have a fit. I had them call a manager. Manager was okay, even though I didn't speak to them on the phone. overall, worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. DON'T BOOK HERE!!!!!!!"

"Location was great (on the base of Lombatd St.). Customer service was neither bad, nor good, just nothing to comment on.
The room was very dated with a basic spring mattress. The hot/cold on the faucet was backwards, no big deal, but did seem 'par for the course,' so to speak.
After parking in the hotel's lot,mew noticed that several cars parked horizontally, blocking us and other guests in. When we needed to leave the next morning, we had to go on a scavenger hunt to find the owner who was at a dentist appt. and ask her to move her vehicle some could leave. Apparently this is a common practice at the Francisco Bay Inn (perhaps this is why they offer free parking?)
We are frugal, but not cheap consumers. When we travel, we have been able to find incredible deals and enjoy extra clean, updated, with above average customer service satisfaction facilities. This was not one of these times.
We cannot recommend this hotel to our friends or readers."

"My wife and I spent a week here in January. If you have a car the location is great. If you will be using the bus system you will have to walk 1 to 2 block for any bus. We were able to catch a bus to the Moscone Center very easily every day. There are several good places to eat within 1 block and many more within about 1/2 mile.

The hotel is close to the Marina District so if there is fog it will be near the hotel. Being on the corner of Lombard and Franklin there is traffic all day and night but it was not too bad.

The first day there we noticed a slight smell in the room that lessened after we turned on the heat.

They cleaned the room and changed the towels everyday and kept the property very clean. The management was very friendly and willing to help in any way they could."

"I booked this hotel through Bookit.com for $209 per nightplus taxes. Due to my difficulty with calenders we arrived a day early. However the hotel was very good about finding us a room at $129 per night plus taxes. imagine my surprise, in the future I'll be doing my own booking by phone. Larry Gray"
