Located on Nob Hill Masas has been internationally acclaimed since opening in 1984. Executive Chef Gregory Short serves contemporary French Cuisine using Northern California ingredients at the height of freshness. This four diamond rated restaurant has also consistently been awarded Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for its international wine list presided over by master sommelier and general manager Alan Murray. Hotel guests are often offered exclusive early seating options with special menu offerings. "This hotel is older, and some of the rooms really show it. I asked to be moved from a largely light less, hammered room that actually had dirt caked on the bathroom window and had a very musty smell. I was moved to a much nicer, light corner room that worked great-except that it was in a wi-fi dead zone. Be sure to ask for an updated room at the front of the hotel.

Staff very accommodating, although someone on the evening shift informed that there were no shuttles to the OAK airport-despite the fact the staff had arranged one for me the day before."

"I am very disappointed with the hotel I was offered in San Francisco. This was not my pick but the pick I wanted I was told by the agent that it was no longer available even though the website showed it as available. The agent asked me to take a look at the pictures online for the hotel and when I did I thought it was just fine. The hotel is very old and very unclean. My wife even say a bed bug crawling on the bed! Very Very disappointed."

"Older hotel, great location, just steps away from the Powell Street trolly. Close walking distance to China Town & Union Square. Very friendly efficient staff. Close to dining establishments. Clean. Very good early evening wine reception, opportunity to meet other travelers, or no pressure to speak to anyone else ~ Would definietly stay here again, very reasonable prices. "As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman who was very friendly and helpful. Complimentary wine was provided, which was nice. The parking garage was not too far so this was not a hassle or problem for us. My one little problem was being charged for a toothbrush that was not used and getting a hold of accounting was impossible. Overall a good experience. "After this prepaid stay, I found the hotel had charged my card an additional $100.00 for incidentals they said we used, although we touched nothing in the mini bar. They refused to give me a checkout statement and took photocopies of my driver's license and credit card. IT WAS ALL REALLY FISHY.(had to cancel my card) We bypassed the high parking fees by using city parking structure and lots of great walking. Rooms were musty but clean. Air Conditioner did not work and windows can be fully opened, but with no screens I am sure glad my kids are grown."

"They had no record of the complimertary bottle of wine, which came with our book it deal. Although they still provided it, it took some convincing. Why?

The part that ensures I will never return would be the freezing shower. Many people were complaining in the morning and the staff did nothing to accomodate. It wasn't like you could just take a quick cold in-n-out version because it was absolutely freezing. Everyone was very nice but with no parking nor hot water, there is no way I'd return and for the price this is rediculous. I also checked the sink, no hot water there either. What a disapointment when I rarely get to visit a city I adore."
