" I wanted to stay at a nice hotel with amenities. The amenities listed on their website are so misleading as to be fraudulent. I was given a 'standard' room that was so small there was only room for a bed with a TV on the wall! Outside the window was a brick wall. My claustrophobia kicked in & I asked for another room. After 2 tries, I was finally given a room I could stand. It still didn't look like the rooms in the website pictures. There was a small round table bedside & the TV sat on the same type round table which way too small to hold the TV. There was 1 small clear plastic chair. No desk, no closet, no hangars. The phone, which didn't work most of the time, was sitting on the feet of the small table on the floor. When I first entered the lobby, the clerk was telling a caller that she would take their number and have the guest call them, because there was something wrong with the phones. There was no ice bucket in the room because THERE IS NO ICE AVAILABLE! The only coffee pot is just inside the lobby door, none in the room. I sure didn't see any 'parlors'. When I complained about no ice, the clerk went to the deli across the street, but lo & behold, THEY WERE OUT OF ICE! She offered to go to the basement where there was an ice cube tray & I accepted, but I never received it. The lobby is so small it contained 2 small clear plastic chairs. The pictures on this website show a standard with lots of room. MY ROOM WAS A STANDARD ROOM AT $139 a night, and it didn't look like the picture. The website says it has a cafe. I was traveling alone & didn't want to leave the hotel for dinner. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant--just a fancy restaurant next door with white tablecloth dinner with exotic foods at exotic prices - nothing I would eat. What a lousy night. At least Travelodge & Knights' Inn have ice buckets & ice. I'll never stay here again."
