We were on a budget for San Francisco. The room was clean. On the small side and could use another paint layer inside- prob bc of the room size luggage hit the wall and caused scuff marks. Parking was limited but we had a spot every night. Like the reviews do not count on breakfast. The front door is locked in the am so I don't know how people got the coffee or packaged Danish. Staff accepted the check out cards in a different area. Worth it if you are sight seeing all day and just need a place ... Read more

We only stayed here two nights while visiting San Fran as part of our honeymoon / drive around California / Nevada . Overall this hotel wasn't bad it had free parking and free wifi and was walking distance to Golden Gate Bridge. I'll start with the negatives : It wasn't in a great area (I'm not posh in the slightest but it was scary) the hotel itself was a bit like bates motel. I've stayed in many days inn and this was the worst. It wasn't horrible don't get me wrong the room itself was nice. M... Read more

The major attraction is included parking, which is a challenge in San Francisco. Biggest downside is its location on Lombard street, which is a major thoroughfare, and thus noisy. Traffic quiets down late, and begins early, so those with sensitive ears should be advised. The included ‚??free breakfast‚?? is served in the tiny check-in office space, with no seating, and consists of coffee, industrial breakfast pastries, and flavorless juice. Room tiny, bed hard, management too busy to care about ... Read more

Booked this for the free parking in SF which usually at most hotels is an extra $50. Saw the pics and reviews here on TA and got a bit apprehensive. The lobby did smell overpoweringly of curry. The room was small but clean other than the scuffmarks on the walls. The bathroom was was clean and bright. Coffeemaker, microwave and minifridge. Double beds were surprisingly comfortable.

$160 a night is a great deal for San Francisco but be prepared you get what you pay for here. The rooms are only so clean with food under the bed and in the corners. Don't ask for extra towels or linens as they are always in the wash. We called ahead about the parking assuming it would cost a bunch because it is San Francisco but its free, great perk but they won't tell you on the phone when you call ahead of time and ask how the parking works is that it is actually first come first serve. This is a perfectly ok stay for a night or two. The people working there were very friendly and gave good service. We were lucky enough to get a parking space, cause there are'nt many. The room was big and had a comfy enough bed. We had a room on the ground floor, and the walls and floor are thin so bring a pair of earplugs. The light switch on the wall kept blinking all the time, so also bring a sleeping mask. We stayed 1 night, and there is nothing major to report. You get what you pay for and... Read more

The room was clean which is the most important thing for me. Small but not uncomfortably so. The biggest problem to me were than the shower curtain was moldy and the ironing board cover was disgustingly dirty and wall mounted in plain sight. Those two thing are so easy to fix with a quick wash so it bothered me that they were an issue. Customer service was decent. Location is great for all sorts of tourist activities. The only other problem is that they WILL NOT check you in early and have no wh... Read more

I was in town for Escape from Alcatraz. I needed a hotel for one night that was close enough to walk to the Marina District and that had free parking. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. The rooms are a bit worn, but the bed and pillows were comfy. Plus, there was a refrigerator and microwave so I could make a quick breakfast in the morning. The location is perfect for those wanting to be near the Bay. A quick walk down Scott street also revealed trendy shops and nightclubs. The owners were very ... Read more

This put as out as we got dropped off by a shuttle with all of our luggage and weren't getting a rental car for a couple days . I don't know if it's because the proprietor of the Days Inn on Lombard has the same name as my # 3 son "Andy" or that during the more expensive summer season, the Days Inn is the best economic value in the city. I just spent 4 nites at this location and have to tell you - it needs a lot more attention than the current operators are giving it. 1. It was VERY WARM while we visited and the fridge, altho plugged in, was not cold even slightly. Didn't keep our pop or choc. milk cold 2. we requested towels, after the cleaning staff had left, and the operator advised he would bring up to our unit. We heard nothing from him at all! We stayed for four nights while visiting the city. The hotel rooms are very dirty and small. The parking area is tiny, and there are not enough bays for each room, therefore, we were afraid to use our car for fear of losing our space. However, on the night of 17th June a drug addict wondered into the hotel. He was taking drugs, shouting threats and banging on doors. It was really frightening. We called 911, as did a few other guests, and he was arrested by the police. During the incident not o... Read more

The smoke detector had been covered over with plastic, rendering it useless in the event of a fire - it had obviously been covered because someone had smoked in the non-smoking room and the house keepers had not bothered to remove the plastic. The light in the bathroom did not work and had been replaced by a standard lamp plugged in because they could not be bothered to fix the bathroom light. This is incredibly dangerous and slap dash practice, and when we told the staff they were not interest... Read more

The cost way exceeded what you get. Walls and floors were dirty which made me question the rest. I slept on my own blankets just to reassure myself. Needs to be upgraded and thoroughly cleaned. Check in was easy and friendly. They allowed us to check in early, too. Noise was low considering it's located on a busy street. Parking great. Packaged danish & coffee breakfast was fine.

Stayed here in 2012 and it was great for a lower-end hotel. This year our room had some issues. The bathroom light didn't work and there was no hot water in the morning. Some of the prior tenant's soap was still in the shower; making me wonder how clean the bathroom actually was. With the bedroom light turned off the sensor blinked bright green incessantly, somewhat disrupting sleep, and the internet brought haunting flashbacks of dial-up modems. The staff were rude, place was run down, homeless people in front of inn and a scary alcoholic. The room looked like it was furnished from left over frat house furniture. The bed sagged in the middle, we were afraid to touch anything. We forfeited a $300+ reservation (since the reservation was non refundable) and went elsewhere. If you don't find a space in the parking lot, you either have to a) park on the street for a very expensive rate, or b) go park in a public garage a couple blocks down. Easily $50+ for one night.
