A room, a bed, a TV, a bathroom Good points: Helpful and friendly front desk staff, bathroom equipped with a full-sized bathtub (a must with all the walking I do, so I can take a good soak at the end of the day), friendly cleaning staff, charming nook by the windows for the table and chairs, had a delicious breeze when the windows were open, spacious room, tempurpedic mattress (although I felt I sunk into it a bit, which made it a tad awkward when I wanted to turn over) Not so good points: Not r... Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of May 2016. Very basic room that was comfortable enough to stay in. Our room was extremely noisy due to the traffic on Lombard St. Many times in the early hours of the morning we woke up due to the traffic noise. Please do not leave suitcases in their care when checking out. We had an expensive item taken from our suitcase and have been ignored by the company when trying to retrieve it. Very disappointing

Great price. Free parking. Yes maybe a distance for some from the attractions but we walked a lot and used public transportation and didn't have a problem. Our room was quiet, our window didn't look out to anything, so no noise unlike some other reviews.

I stayed in this place for two nights recently. Room is quiet and clean. No fridge though I think it is available upon request for a fee. Air conditioning is working well. Bed is very comfortable (feels like memory foam). Shower pressure is on the low side. Wifi is good. It is not centrally located (not close to union square) but the area has a number of restaurants and shops and it is not far from the Marina. I originally wasn't sure about booking this hotel but it got such good reviews I went ahead. Glad we did. We needed somewhere that wouldn't break the budget and where we could also dump the car for 4 days without paying the massive parking charges of some downtown hotels. No, it isn't as convenient as some hotels but if you choose it don't complain about the lack of convenience. Stayed for two nights. This hotel is perfect for someone who wants a clean, safe, comfortable and reasonably priced place to stay that is conveniently located within walking distance to many of the San Fran neighborhoods that most tourists would want to see. No frills but rate can't be beat. Location very convenient, & Tony/front desk is very professional & is an asset to this company. Room/bathroom was larger then expected - very clean but furnishing outdated. Free parking & easy access to elevator/room for wheelchair guests. Beds were comfortable, in fact when I returned home purchased the same type of bed for my husband! Will definitely return if in San Fran again.

We chose this hotel based upon the good reviews and the fact that it offers free parking. We were not disappointed. Except for the low water pressure in the shower, we were very satisfied with our clean and comfortable room. It was a little bit of a hike by foot to Fisherman's Wharf where we went for dinner, with a lot of uphill climbs, so you may want to consider taking a bus, taxi or trolley if you plan to go there.

Basic, clean room for a motor inn. Not luxurious but comfortable enough for me. Most, if not all hotel crew, are warmth, friendly and hospitable. Somewhat far from city center and the Fisherman's Wharf but if walking for half-an-hour or more, or taking public transport is fine, then this place is relatively cosy and safe. A little hidden gem, if they keep room rates affordable, in a relatively expensive city.

A great budget hotel if you are on a road trip. Has free parking so ditch the car for public transport. Rooms are good and staff are nice and helpful. Road outside can be a little noisy but what do expect in the middle of the city!

Perfect location for a visit to San Fran. Nothing fancy but very clean, free parking, liquor store across the street, friendly, helpful staff, and within walking distance of many sights. We would stay there or at any one of their other locations.

We stayed with two kids. we got the impression that the hotel is a walking distance from popular attraction. it wasn't even walking distance from the bus station... we had to use taxis for everything. The hotel itself is fine, the room was comfortable, a bit annoying that there is no breakfast option. even though we weren't facing Lombard street it was pretty noisy from cars all night long.

We visited San Francisco for the first time. Found this hotel in TripAdvisor and I got to say our three days stay was great. Room was clean, restroom is huge and super clean. Staff was attentive and it is a plus having free parking. Close to great places to eat and to bus stops.

Firstly the ONLY reason they didn't get 5 stars (and I'm not sure how they give half stars or I'd give 4.5 stars) is because there was no in room fridge. Otherwise the room was awesome. Clean, LARGE, and updated clean bathroom. So close to everything from the touristy harbour section to walking a couple of blocks up and you get into another area with INCREDIABLE food. The free parking was a HUGE bonus!!!! The front desk attendant was so friendly and helpful. There is nothing I can say negative... Read more

Hotels in San Francisco are usually expensive, but The Conventry Motor Inn is slightly below average for a hotel of this category and located in that region. It offers what It promisses. It is a walking distance from Marina District (Fort Mason, The Presidio and The Palace of Fine Arts) and from Fillmore Street and Pacific Heights shopping area (just some miles up hill). Hop-on/Hop-off buses passes right in front at Lombard Street, an easy way to walk around without spending a lot. Check-in was ... Read more

Good size and clean room. Safe and walkable area for food and shopping. No breakfast. Free parking. Good value. I would stay in the area again. It's a great home base in San Francisco without the high prices.
