Coventry Motor Inn was very clean and staff very accommodating. Good neighborhood near by for food. (Union Street). A little to far off the beaten path for us. Too far to walk to any sights. Did have free parking which was a plus. Price was good.

A room, a bed, a TV, a bathroom Good points: Helpful and friendly front desk staff, bathroom equipped with a full-sized bathtub (a must with all the walking I do, so I can take a good soak at the end of the day), friendly cleaning staff, charming nook by the windows for the table and chairs, had a delicious breeze when the windows were open, spacious room, tempurpedic mattress (although I felt I sunk into it a bit, which made it a tad awkward when I wanted to turn over) Not so good points: Not r... Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of May 2016. Very basic room that was comfortable enough to stay in. Our room was extremely noisy due to the traffic on Lombard St. Many times in the early hours of the morning we woke up due to the traffic noise. Please do not leave suitcases in their care when checking out. We had an expensive item taken from our suitcase and have been ignored by the company when trying to retrieve it. Very disappointing

Great price. Free parking. Yes maybe a distance for some from the attractions but we walked a lot and used public transportation and didn't have a problem. Our room was quiet, our window didn't look out to anything, so no noise unlike some other reviews.

I stayed in this place for two nights recently. Room is quiet and clean. No fridge though I think it is available upon request for a fee. Air conditioning is working well. Bed is very comfortable (feels like memory foam). Shower pressure is on the low side. Wifi is good. It is not centrally located (not close to union square) but the area has a number of restaurants and shops and it is not far from the Marina. The hotel is located in a flat part of Lombard street (as pretty much a lot of places ... Read more

I originally wasn't sure about booking this hotel but it got such good reviews I went ahead. Glad we did. We needed somewhere that wouldn't break the budget and where we could also dump the car for 4 days without paying the massive parking charges of some downtown hotels. No, it isn't as convenient as some hotels but if you choose it don't complain about the lack of convenience. The 3 staff we spoke to were all very helpful giving us information about buses, restaurants, taxis, routes out of town... Read more

Stayed for two nights. This hotel is perfect for someone who wants a clean, safe, comfortable and reasonably priced place to stay that is conveniently located within walking distance to many of the San Fran neighborhoods that most tourists would want to see. Nothing fancy, but the free parking is a huge plus. I really liked that a room key is required to open the door to get to the elevator. Also had an in-room safe. Staff was very professional and helpful. Could hear some street noise in ... Read more

This hotel was in a very safe area, free parking and very clean. It was an old hotel, nothing fancy but comfortable and clean. Many restaurants within walking distance. We found a delicious pizza place around the corner and walked there at night and felt very safe.

San Francisco have a parking problem so you need to be close to either walk or take a cheaper taxi. There are many restaurants around you and bike rental to go to the Golden gate Bridge. I recommend this hotel

No frills but rate can't be beat. Location very convenient, & Tony/front desk is very professional & is an asset to this company. Room/bathroom was larger then expected - very clean but furnishing outdated. Free parking & easy access to elevator/room for wheelchair guests. Beds were comfortable, in fact when I returned home purchased the same type of bed for my husband! Will definitely return if in San Fran again.

We chose this hotel based upon the good reviews and the fact that it offers free parking. We were not disappointed. Except for the low water pressure in the shower, we were very satisfied with our clean and comfortable room. It was a little bit of a hike by foot to Fisherman's Wharf where we went for dinner, with a lot of uphill climbs, so you may want to consider taking a bus, taxi or trolley if you plan to go there.

We booked this based on previous reviews and weren't disappointed. Friendly, informative staff to greet you, only too please to assist. Large, clean rooms, tea and coffee making, large tv, that we didn't even switch on! The beds were really comfortable with memory foam mattresses. A couple of diners Bay View and Mel's Drive In within a 5 minute walk, great for breakfast and reasonably priced. Quite convenient for Fishermans Wharf about a 20 minute walk, though it a bit of hike back to the hotel a... Read more

A great location - just walk one block and you get to Chesnut which is full of bars, cafes & restaurants - locals are lovely & friendly, willing to hand out tips and advice. The hotel is a 3 mile walk along the bay to the Golden Gate Bridge. Our room was spacious & clean, decor a little dated but on the whole no problems and the free parking was a big bonus.

Asked for a top floor room at the back of hotel we were given a 2nd floor room at the side of hotel which we found noisy because of the traffic clean rooms bit on the small side but ok the free parking is a bonus and there is a lot of spaces hotel is well positioned to see san francisco and there are restaurants and bars within walking distance

We stayed 5 nights and had no problems. Our room was clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially Tony at the front desk. Fisherman's Wharf is about a mile away, we walked to and from. Restaurants were with in walking distance. Happy with our stay and we'd go back.

Stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the place quite a bit. Rooms were clean and robust with large bathrooms and nice windows. Noise level was manageable even though being close to busy Lombard street. Beds were very comfortable and room was very clean. Staff was very friendly and I loved the free oranges from the front desk. Location is pretty good too, with two or three bus lines less than 1 block away. Walking to the pier area is doable but a bit far (1/3-1/2 mile or more). Felt safe in the area a... Read more

Stayed here for 3 nights in a 2 queen beds room, very clean, reasonably priced, great free parking, safe area and close to Fishermans Wharf/Pier 39 (25 min walk) also as it is on Lombard Street it isn't far from the famous part of the street (20 min walk) although very steep to get up to it! San Fran is a great city and we loved every minute of it and this Hotel helped make it a very special 3 days for me and my family!!

This is a good deal. Not bare bones but not TA TA either. Lombard street is a super local area so that's good. Under hotel parking is safe and comfortable so that's good. Walking to many diners restaurants and convenience stores is easy so that's good. Bottom line---- all good. We had a very nice clean room and would stay again in a heartbeat. Good deal. A solid A.

This hotel looks like nothing fancy from the outside, but I was impressed with my room. It was very clean--a high priority for me--and quite comfortable. The rate was fantastic for San Francisco, and the free parking is unbeatable in a town where parking lot rates can be $9 per hour (huge compared to what I'm accustomed to). The staff were friendly and helpful, and I appreciated how secure the building was. The room was quiet (except for a bit of occasional and unavoidable street noise) and the ... Read more

This hotel is perfect for a trip to discover San Francisco! If you want to really see everything, and need free parking, this place couldn't be more convenient. It's approx a 10-15 minute walk to the fisherman's Wharf, but that's nothing, because if you're in San Fran, walking is going to happen unless of course you enjoy seeing the world through a car window. We love walking around, discovering new areas, just to observe different cultures and activities. Pier 39 is a must, as well as Alcatraz,... Read more

This hotel is in a great location! Very close to the Golden Gate and to Fisherman's Wharf. The hotel has parking too which is huge. The hotel does not offer breakfast or dining of any kind; however there is Mel's Diner and IHOP 1/4 mile down the road. There is a convenience store right across the street and tons of restaurants nearby within walking distance. About a mile or so to the Wharf, about a 15 minute drive to Golden Gate and 30 from the airport. The hotel is clean, the staff extr... Read more

Comfortable , spacious and clean room in a conveniently located neighbourhood. Parking on site is well organised. Road noise, being on a crossroads, is significant if you have a room overlooking the street. Overall, given how expensive San Francisco is, this inn provides excellent value.

Charming old hotel in the north End of the city. Very inexpensive room with a little view of the Golden Gate bridge. We enjoyed our one night here very much. The staff are helpful and friendly and amazingly they offer FREE PARKING for their guests in a city that is short on parking spots. Within easy walking distance of touristy Fishermans Wharf and many great eateries. Very cool old elevator. They kept our bags safe for us after we checked out while we explored the city. Great place to stay in San Francisco! Won't break the budget, old fashioned facilities but rooms are large and very, very clean. Request a room facing Buchanan, Lombard Street is very busy. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Good location, very easy access to public transport and tour buses etc. Parking is free!

A neat older Inn with reasonable rates and free covered parking. Tony at the desk was great. Across the street is a little store where one can buy beer, milk, bread, etc. There are a couple of restaurant/pubs within a couple of blocks. About 3 1/2 blocks down Lombard is the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus stop. On our next trip to San Fran, we will definitely stay here again.

A well located, affordable hotel in San Francisco with Parking on ground and lower level. Stayed here for 3 days/2 nights and it was a great spot to stay for location. Parking was great, we left it there for the entire stay. Uber cost about $6-7 to get to Fisherman's Wharf area which beat the average $25 a day for parking down there. Tony was on the check in desk and was great. Seen him a few times throughout our stay and was such a good guy... Couldn't help but put a smile on your face and kn... Read more

Stayed there three nights. The staff was great, the rooms were clean and the location was convenient. We used Uber to get most places in the city but the bus line stopped right in front of the hotel. The bodega across the street was a great place to buy snacks. I highly recommend the Coventry.
