Pretty decent hotel for the price. Location is centralized which is nice most of the time, nightlife is rather rough. There is multiple bums, homeless in the area that can make some uneasy. Hotel ladies were very informative about where to walk safe in the area. Breakfast is served at nearby restaurant which is above average but nothing special. Solid stay for the price for those wanting to not break the bank on a hotel in San Francisco.

We stayed for 3 nights. It is a relatively small, city hotel. The room was very nice and clean. Simple decor. Large bathroom with a bathtub. They offer free shuttle to main town locations several times a day. It is walking distance from Union sq. Free (working everywhere) wifi. Breakfast was included and it was ok but nothing special. They have a roof terase which is cool to sit and relax if it's not cold :-) Free use od gym and businss room (comptuter, printer) included. Parking is right next ... Read more

We decided to come to San Francisco on our honeymoon. Basic facilities for an over priced hotel. Safe area close to all San Francisco attractions. Room was clean. Staff was okay. We had breakfast included as part of our package deal. Very basic and simple breakfast buffet offered.

Staff throughout hotel and restaurant were amazing. Laundry service was easy. Close enough to everything through taxi or public transport. Room was average and a tiny section around us you would feel a bit intimidated but the people are harmless other than that you will be fine walking the area the staff guide you where to go and not to go Wifi was good for free wifi and was enough to check emails and all the above

Overall I enjoyed my stay at Cova Hotel. I stayed there for 5 nights with a friend of mine. The hotel is located very central, although it's in what you would call the bad neighbourhood. The surrounding streets were dirty and homeless people along with random nutcases seemed to walk these streets. They didn't cause any real trouble though. Even though the neighbourhood was bad, the hotel was nice and clean. The rooms were what you would expect and we had no problems with it. The WiFi worked gr... Read more

This hotel is very modern, clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. However, the location although it is very central is not good. This hotel is located in the tenderloin district which is a very rough area. When I arrived from the airport my taxi driver warned me not to walk around in this area and to catch transport to and from the door. The hotel does offer a free shuttle service to several of the main tourist sites which I used. I would never tell anyone to avoid th... Read more

The Cova Hotel is very nice, recently renovated, rooms are modern, beds are comfy and breakfast is very good. It's a short walking distance to Union Square. I would stay here again if I needed to stay close to Union Square. However, after visiting San Francisco and touring all the different areas, I would not recommend staying near Union Square; the only nice places there are the two block surrounding the actual square...beyond that it's not very pretty. If I were to visit SF again, I would sta... Read more

The lobby and room are modern. The room is on the small side and sparsely furnished but the bed is comfortable. Friendly service in the front desk. Within walking distance to Union Square and city hall but the surrounding streets are full of homeless people loitering and sleeping although they don't bother you. Take advantage of the free shuttle to the close by tourist spots. It is expensive to use the business center.

Well we booked cova looking into the reviews of trip advisor and comparing few hotels in down town and centralised area Booking was smooth , only wish check in we could get a warm smiling welcome . Front office reception ladies were in no mood to welcome or answer to your any queries as new to that place they sounded too gloomy, don't know for what .. May be we are from a country where guests r always welcomed with a smile on the face .. I guess it's too much to expect haha Rooms are fine wit... Read more

This was our second stop on our honeymoon and knew even before we got to the hotel we were going to be in a bad area, there were countless homeless people and it is notorious for drugs. Although they don't bother you they can be intimidating to people who are not used to it. The room was dirty when we got there and there were bugs in the bottom of the shower. The morning breakfast was very average with flies landing all over the food. It was OK as a place to stay for a few nights but i would rec... Read more

Friendly staff, clean rooms, loved the little breakfast included in the morning - this saved us money and my daughter loved the waffles. Located not far from Union Square but also in the Tenderloin area - my advise 'do not walk down Ellis street' - the hotel is located here and there are lots of homeless and scary people not far away - Ask the staff for the best way to avoid the street or take a cab or Uber to get around. I would stay again.

Spent 3 nights at the Cova in June and found the room to be pretty good. If you have a car, they have an independent business on site who looks after the parking for around $30 per night. Found the hotels front counter staff to be welcoming and helpful with any enquires about SF. The hotel has a free shuttle bus which goes to 3 or 4 locations and return including Fishermans wharf. This shuttle is driven by one of the hotels front office staff and a special mention to the lady who took us to a ph... Read more

Great location, We have been back twice and planning to stay here again. A full Breakfast is included which is great , not many hotels have this amenity. We stayed at the one bedroom suite, spacious and very clean. Room Service is great as well. Front Desk agents are always very friendly and helpful. Free shuttle service to the local areas. Family of 4 including an infant and a toddler.

Very lovely hotel, clean rooms, excellent breakfast. But.. it is located in the worst district of San Francisco!! Full of stinky and dangerous homeless. There are so many hotels in Frisco, you'll surely find something better!

Nice hotel. Currently trying to give it a face lift. Rooms are ok bed comfy , rooms a good size. Bathroom not bad ,plumping ok pipes rattle a bit. If you get a room facing the main road it can get very noisy , I would suggest a room on the inside. Staff all very nice and very helpful.

Nothing wrong with this place if you are on a budget and want clean good value accommodation. Room was fine, spacious, towels a little small but hey, this doesn't pretend to be 5 star. Staff friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was disappointing, not much to go for, often ran out, best but was you made your own waffles but staff were lovely. Location was seedy to put it mildly, homeless people all around you and the streets smelt of urine and weed, our 13 year old son was offered ro... Read more

This was our 1st stop of 14 in California over the last 4 weeks and I was pleasantly surprised with how good the room was. We stayed in a remodelled suite consisting of bedroom, lounge, bathroom and kitchenette. The bed was comfy, the lounge had everything you would need and the kitchen included a microwave, full sized fridge and coffee maker but very little in the way of cutlery and crockery. The staff were great and the area was not a problem nor the people, I walked around quite happily on m... Read more
