"My husband stayed at this hotel during a huge conference based on the positive reviews we saw on line. While we weren't expecting the Ritz, we were actually shocked that this place rated 3 stars. Check-in took over an hour because only one guest can check in at a time, there was no security and it is in a bad (and fairly isolated from safer areas) neighborhood, our room was filthy and stunk like cigarette and marijuana smoke, the bathroom was filthy and in disrepair and the window wouldn't close all the way. There was dirt, pubic hair and black mold in the bathroom. We have stayed in San Francisco before and are accustomed to the beggars and we live in Boston, but this neighborhood felt particularly dangerous. The 'free breakfast' is not at the hotel, but rather at a dumpy cafe around the corner and the 'fitness room' is at another equally dumpy Best Western across the street. One of the worst hotel stays I have ever had, and we travel frequently."

"Good price for the room. Really enjoyed the stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and loved the way it was decorated. Even got to meet the guy that our room was named after.
The vouchers for breakfast at the Cafe Mocha were great. Enjoyed the food and the people that worked there. They were very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to my friends."

"If you don't mind being in a 'transitional' neighborhood with lots of street people around, this hotel is a real gem. It is small , full of character, and imaginatively furnished. The beds, bed linens and pillows are of very high quality. Bathrobes are provided. The only drawback is that the rooms are a bit dark.
Included in the price is a perfectly acceptable breakfast(including eggs if you want) in a restaurant a few doors from the hotel. In addition, you can use the pool and exercise room in the large Best Western across the street.
A real bargain for the price."

"Good price for room. Close to Market St & public transportation, but quiet at night. Walking distance to Westfield shopping mall & Union Square. Breakfast isn't much, but at least there was coffee & a muffin. It was all we needed & we were happy with it."

"The location is pretty good. The hotel is about 3 blocks from Market street and 5 mins walking from the main tourist attractions. There are bums everywhere around this area, it was not scary but not pretty. The free wireless internet didn't work very well. Had to call support (not what I want to do on getaway) lady had no clue what to do. Free breakfast is tea, coffee and some pastries in the room that has access to the bathroom ( not so pretty)"
